The washware is transported by a transport device through one or more wash zones and a final rinse zone of the conveyor warewashing machine. From zone to zone, a fluid cascade is formed whose flow direction of the Transport direction is opposite. When the liquid cascade is interrupted, the washing liquid in the wash tanks of the liquid cascade no longer receives regeneration by dilution with fresh water. Depending on the entry of dirt from the items to be washed into the washing liquid (wash liquid), this washing liquid can become very dirty, so that this results in a reduced cleaning capacity.
