Definitions
- the invention relates to a glass or can closure according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Jars with a twist-off closure or so-called twist-off closure in particular with a relatively large lid diameter, such as Cucumber jars, but also jars with other contents that have to be kept airtight, are usually closed with a high vacuum for quality and safety reasons and can therefore only be opened with great effort for the first time.
- tools are used when opening, e.g. hot water is poured over the lid, or a hole is pressed into the lid, special tools can be used, and the like.
- the lid is designed such that a circumferential, continuous seal firmly attached to the lid is applied to the outer circumferential edge of the lid, against which the upper circumferential edge of the glass or can rests so that when the lid is closed, an airtight seal Connection is created so that the vacuum in the glass or can is maintained as long as the seal is effective.
- the invention Since the available aids for opening such glasses with a stuck lid are all unsatisfactory, especially many users do not apply the force necessary to open the ⁇ lid and to overcome the vacuum forces, the invention has the task of making the lid of such glasses easier and Inexpensive, but effective way to design so that the lid can be opened with little force by anyone, including older and weak people as well as children, effortlessly and without tools. According to the invention, this object is achieved with the features of the characterizing part of claim 1. Further embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
- the seal on the outer peripheral edge of the inside of the lid is basically omitted.
- a plate or disk with an approximately central opening which has approximately the same area as the inside of the lid and which is loosely connected to the lid, is inserted or placed in the interior of the lid or on the glass or can surface stands, wherein the inside of the lid is in sealing contact with the plate in the closed state via a seal which is connected to the inside of the lid and is preferably arranged in a central position and which covers and closes the opening of the plate, and thus prevents the vacuum in the glass or can through the opening in the space between the top of the plate and the inside of the lid. This prevents pressure equalization between the inside of the glass and the outside of the glass.
- the plate or disc inserted between the upper edge of the glass and the inside of the lid is made of metal, plastic, rubber or similar material and is placed on the upper edge of the glass vessel when the glass is closed, with a sealing ring being arranged on the edge of the plate, which engages in sealing engagement with the peripheral edge of the Glass jar stands.
- the opening formed in the plate when the negative pressure is established in the glass vessel, is closed by the seal attached to the inside of the lid, so that the negative pressure in the vessel remains when the lid is applied to the glass.
- the seal between the cover and the plate, which serves to close the opening in the plate is for example a washer seal or an annular seal, which prevents the opening Vacuum in the glass is released and air from the surroundings can flow in through the gap between the glass and the lid.
- the plate is opposite the.
- the peripheral edge of the glass vessel is also sealed, the seal being formed on the outer boundary of the plate, which engages with the peripheral edge of the glass vessel, insofar as the plate itself does not act as a seal
- the disk-shaped plate is designed in the form of an uninterrupted surface, ie without an opening, the peripheral edge with the disk-shaped plate being designed to fit tightly against the plate over the entire circumference when the glass or the closed box is closed, so that Vacuum is maintained within the glass or can.
- the effect of the opening in the plate which is achieved by a seal between the lid and the plate, is achieved in a corresponding manner in such an embodiment in that when the lid rotates relative to the glass or the can, the lid due to the thread relative to the Glass or the can experiences a height movement and with such a rotation of the lid, the seal between the plate and the peripheral edge of the glass is broken or interrupted, so that air can flow in from the outside and thus the opening of the glass is made possible without effort.
- Dami the plate is lifted with a rotation of the lid analogous to the vertical movement of the lid due to the thread
- the plate is formed at least at one point on the circumference in engagement with the inside of the vertical lid wall, such that the diameter of the Plate is adapted to the inside diameter of the cover, or, for example, in such a way that the top of the plate is connected to the underside of the cover facing the plate, so that when the cover rotates, the plate is automatically lifted.
- This connection can be a central attachment, a flexible or rigid insert arranged between the cover and the plate by gluing, or the like.
- the cover and / or the plate or disk have a depression or elevation which is deformed like a dent downwards or upwards and is formed concentrically around the opening in the plate.
- a rubber seal in the form of a sealing washer or a ring is arranged between the cover and the plate.
- Such an arrangement enables a centering when the cover is put on to be achieved with the aid of the recess, that the recess in the cover can be used as a recess for use for advertising purposes, that the seal lying between the cover and the plate is slightly pretensioned when it is closed and that the lid and plate are given increased stability due to the deformation.
- the trough can be formed in the cover, while the plate is designed without a trough, so that the seal arranged between the two has a tight fit due to its compression when the cover is closed.
- FIG. 1 shows a schematic representation of a glass closure of a conventional type
- FIG. 2 shows a glass closure of the type according to the invention with a surface seal
- FIG. 3 shows a glass closure with an inventive ring seal
- FIG 5 shows a further embodiment of the invention, in which the peripheral edge of the disk-shaped plate is at least partially in engagement with the inner surface of the side wall of the cover
- FIG. 6 shows a modified embodiment of the invention according to FIG. 2 or 3.
- a lid 2 in the form of a cup is placed on the top of the glass.
- the lid 2 is screwed to the upper area of the glass 1 at 3 or locked with a twist-off closure.
- a seal 4 is formed on the peripheral edge of the lid bottom, which sealingly engages with the upper edge of the glass vessel and thus maintains the negative pressure generated in the glass for preservation.
- the seal 4 is a ring seal firmly connected to the inside of the cover, the diameter of which corresponds to the inside diameter of the cover.
- a plate 6 is provided lying on the upper peripheral edge 5 of the glass vessel 1 and has a central opening 7 which engages with the aid of a seal 8 firmly connected to the inside of the lid and closes the opening 7 so that the negative pressure or vacuum prevailing in the glass 1 is maintained when the lid is closed. Furthermore, an annular seal 9 is provided on the outer edge of the plate 6, which with the peripheral edge 4 of the glass 1 in Intervention stands and prevents penetration of outside air into the glass interior when the lid is closed.
- the seal 8 and / or 9 is made of resilient plastic, rubber or rubber-like material, so that the seal 8 is pressed against the top of the plate 6 around the opening 7 when the lid is closed. If the closure 3 of the lid on the glass is loosened, the seal 7 is lifted from the top of the plate 6 by this screwing movement and air flows through the gap between the lid 2 and glass 1 or plate 6 into the glass, so that the existing negative pressure will be annulled. Since the surface of the seal 8, due to the small opening 7, exerts a significantly lower atmospheric pressure on the seal closure than in the case of conventional lids, the effort required to release the lid of a lid closed by negative pressure is considerably less than in conventional arrangements, so that the opening eg a cucumber jar is also easily possible for less powerful people.
- the seal 8 is designed in the form of an annular seal 10, which has the same effect as the seal 8 according to FIG. 2, that is to say a lower force effect per unit area of the vacuum or negative pressure on the closure.
- Fig. 4 shows an embodiment in which the plate has a closed surface, that is, is designed without an opening.
- This plate is designated 6 'in Fig. 4. It is connected to the cover 2 via an insert 8 ', which can also be a rigid connection.
- the plate 6 ' lies on the peripheral surface 5 of the glass vessel 1 with the interposition of an annular seal 14 which is positioned either on the surface 5 or at the opposite location of the plate 6'. If the lid 2, which is connected to a counter thread on the glass or the can 1, is turned in the opening sense, the plate 6 'is lifted together with the lid in accordance with the movement determined by the thread and the sealing effect at point 14 is canceled so that air can flow into the vessel and fill the vacuum.
- the plate 6 " is adapted in diameter to the inside diameter of the cover and, as indicated at 15, is in engagement with a point on the inner wall of the cover cap, so that when the cover rotates, the plate 6" also moves away from the End wall of the vessel 1 is lifted off and thus the vacuum in the vessel 1 is filled.
- the cover 2 has a trough-shaped depression 11 and the plate 6 has a trough-shaped depression 12 essentially concentrically with the opening 7.
- a seal 13 is arranged, which with the cover 2 e.g. can be connected by vulcanization, or can optionally rest on the cover 2 as a rubber washer or rubber ring.
- the trough-shaped depressions 11 and 12 can also be trough-shaped elevations, or alternatively the trough-shaped depression 11 can be formed on the cover 2, while the plate 6 is designed as a flat disk.
- the depression 1 1 can serve, for example, as a receptacle for an advertising medium or can be used in some other way for commercial purposes.
