- conveyor sections (3) or coarse product returns (6) are preferably arranged.
- a single grinding zone (2) and a single visual zone (4) a jet mill with an oval design is produced.
- triangular or polygonal shapes can arise.
- the size ratios of grinding zone (2) or milling zones (2) and viewing zone (4) or zones of vision (4) are preferably independent of one another.
- the conveyor line (3) or the conveyor lines (3) contains, or preferably contain one or more flow deflectors (41).

- compressed gases such as air, nitrogen, steam, carbon dioxide, noble gas, hydrogen, oxygen or mixtures thereof.
- the outer wall (44) of the dynamic sifter (55) is preferably purged by pressurized gases such as air, nitrogen, steam, carbon dioxide, rare gas, hydrogen, oxygen or mixtures thereof.
- the flushing can be done, for example, by means of a blade ring, nozzles or a sintered metal sheet or a combination thereof.
- the supply of the compressed gas can be done for example by the secondary air inlet (42).
- the secondary air inlet (42) promotes deagglomeration; the fines yield will be improved.
- Secondary air can preferably be introduced through the secondary air inlet openings (47) into the viewing zone (4) via a secondary air distributor (43).

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a jet mill incorporating an integrated dynamic classifier and a method of using the same.
A disadvantage of such a mill is that due to the poor sighting within the mill space small amounts of sprayed grain enter the fines. In products for the paint industry, even the smallest amounts of spray grain have a negative effect on the application of these materials. "Sphere" in the sense of the application means particles which have a particle size d (97) of> 5 microns. "Particle size d (97)" means the particle size in μm, below which 97% of all measured particles are in the volume distribution. When d (97) is <5 μm, the pigment is of micronized quality.

- ein Produkteintrag (1) und ein Feingutaustritt (5) integriert ist;
- at least one dynamic sifter (55) comprising a classifying wheel (45) and a viewing zone (4) is integrated, which contains a separate conveying path (3) and a separate coarse material return (6) into the grinding zone (2); such as
- a product entry (1) and a fines exit (5) is integrated;
Surprisingly, fines having a particle size d (97) of ≦ 5 μm, preferably ≦ 3 μm (53), are produced by the jet mill according to the invention.
The classifying wheel (45) is preferably externally driven, for example by a Sichtradantriebsmotor (46).
Mahlgut (54), welches als zu grobes Material von der Sichtzone (4) abgewiesen wurde, gelangt vorzugsweise über die Austrittöffnung des Grobgutrücklaufs (48) in den Grobgutrücklauf (6).Grist (54), which was rejected as too coarse material from the viewing zone (4), preferably passes through the outlet opening of the coarse material return (48) in the coarse return (6).
Between one or more refining zones (2) and one or more viewing zones (4) conveyor sections (3) or coarse product returns (6) are preferably arranged. In the case of a single grinding zone (2) and a single visual zone (4), a jet mill with an oval design is produced. With several grinding zones (2) and viewing zones (4), triangular or polygonal shapes can arise.

The conveyor line (3) or the conveyor lines (3) contains, or preferably contain one or more flow deflectors (41). A flow deflector (41) is intended to prevent the ground material (54) from striking the classifying wheel (45) directly.
A flow deflector (41) has an angle of 2 to 25 °, preferably 9 to 11 °.
The dynamic classifier (55) preferably has a classifying wheel (45) with lamellae (49).
The lamellae (49) are preferably straight, oblique and or curved.
The product entry (1) is preferably accomplished by an injector (11) which uses compressed gases such as air, nitrogen, steam, carbon dioxide, noble gas, hydrogen, oxygen or mixtures thereof. With the help of the Injektortreibdüse (12) and the Injektorförderrohr (15) is preferably the material to be ground (54) entered into the grinding zone (2).
The outer wall (44) of the dynamic sifter (55) is preferably purged by pressurized gases such as air, nitrogen, steam, carbon dioxide, rare gas, hydrogen, oxygen or mixtures thereof.
The flushing can be done, for example, by means of a blade ring, nozzles or a sintered metal sheet or a combination thereof. The supply of the compressed gas can be done for example by the secondary air inlet (42). The secondary air inlet (42) promotes deagglomeration; the fines yield will be improved. Secondary air can preferably be introduced through the secondary air inlet openings (47) into the viewing zone (4) via a secondary air distributor (43).
The jet mill may preferably have a Sichtradspaltspülung (52) to prevent coarse material on the dynamic classifier (55) passes into the fines (53).
The invention also includes a method for grinding regrind (54) with the above-described jet mill, characterized in that regrind (54) is fed to the jet mill during product introduction (1) and is removed at the fines exit (5) as fines (53).

- Figure 2: sectional view of the jet mill from the side
The jet mill consists essentially of an oval-shaped tube consisting of a conveying path (3) and a coarse material return (6). Mahlzone (2) and Sichtzone (4) are spatially separated.
The millbase (54) is preferably conveyed pneumatically via a product entry (1) by means of an injector (11) via an injector friction nozzle (12) into the grinding zone (2). Alternatively, a pneumatic pressure boosting can be used. It is also conceivable to use pressure locks to introduce the material into the system.
The crushing is done by mutual particle impact. The grinding nozzles (21) are preferably employed tangentially.
The grinding stock (54) produced by the grinding zone (2) is preferably conveyed to the dynamic sifter (55) via the conveying path (3) in a pre-accelerated manner, which can still be assisted by acceleration prior to entry into the viewing zone (4). In addition, the flow deflector (41) prevents the flow from the material to be ground (54) impinging directly on the classifying wheel (45). Additionally supplied via the wall (44) air prevents reagglomeration of the ground material (54).
In the center of the viewing zone (4) the Sichtrad (45) is installed. Sufficient fine ground material (54) is discharged with the through the classifying wheel (45) sucked compressed gas as fine material (53). Coarse material to be ground (54) is rejected by the classifying wheel (45). The lamellae (49) of the classifying wheel (45) can be (49) straight, oblique and / or curved.
The jet mill may preferably have a Sichtradspaltspülung (52) to prevent coarse material on the dynamic classifier (55) passes into the fines (53).
The fine material (53) is separated from the compressed gas after the fine material outlet (5) in a downstream separator, such as a cyclone or a filter. The jet mill can be operated by a fan both in negative pressure and in overpressure.
Coarse fractions of the ground material (54) which are rejected by the classifying wheel (45) are returned from the classifying zone (4) through the coarse material return outlet via the coarse material return (6) to the grinding zone (2).

The particle size distribution was determined by laser diffraction (Malvern Instruments instrument "Mastersizer-S") in an aqueous suspension with 0.1% sodium phosphate as a dispersing aid after a two-minute ultrasonic dispersion of 200 W.
The quality of steam jet milled ware can be described by the particle size distribution. Due to the system, laser diffraction meters have great difficulty reproducing the edges of the particle size distribution exactly. The characteristic value "d (97)" of a particle size distribution is, according to experience, a trustworthy parameter for the quality of the fineness of the grinding of pigments.

The grinding was carried out in a spiral jet mill according to the prior art (manufacturer Alpine, diameter 900 mm). Steam was used as compressed gas.
