Definitions
- the present invention relates to an overmoulded, intended to be fixed to an object cast in a foam in a mold, overmoulded having a base having a central portion, a first face of which are derived hooks forming a male portion of a self gripping, and two selvedge portions on either side of the central portion, and magnetic means cooperable with a magnet disposed at the bottom of a cavity defined by one or walls at the bottom of the mold.
- the magnet attracts the overmoulded, previously placed on the upper edges of the walls of the cavity with the hooks inside thereof, and plates its edges against the upper edges of the walls, thereby to seal the cavity, in which the hooks are located, so that foam can be poured into the mold without it enters the cavity and pollute the hooks coming into contact with them to lose their hanging character screws to loops of a hook and loop closure.
- the foam hardened, it forms a molded object which is fixed overmoulded, the latter having hooks that have not taken in the foam thanks to the protection conferred by the cavity and these hooks can then cooperate with loops for for example, attaching a fabric to the molded foam object, for example a car seat cushion.
- the foam that has been poured then tends to exert, when it en masse, a force upwards on its parts hanging edges, which tends to take off slightly overmolded the upper edges of the walls and to further reduce the tightness at level of the interface between these edges and the upper edge of the vertical walls.
- the present invention aims to overcome the aforementioned disadvantages overmoulded of the prior art by proposing an overmoulded which, when it is placed by at least part of its selvedges on the upper edge of the walls delimiting a cavity protection of the hooks against the foam casting, has a better seal against the foam infiltration at the level of the interface edge-edges higher, and this for a force of equal magnetization or a seal equivalent to those of the prior art for less magnetization.
- An overmold according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from EP 1452106 .
- an overmold is as defined in claim 1, the sub-claims for improvements.
- the overmoulded When the overmoulded is placed on the upper edges of the boundary walls of a protective cavity of the hooks at the bottom of the mold intended to form the molded object to which it is desired to be fixed overmoulded, it is formed with these ribs of the chambers of decompression delimited by the edges, the ribs and the upper edges of the walls of delimitation of the cavity.
- These decompression chambers make it possible to increase the tightness of the upper edge-edge interface, by equal magnetization force. Indeed, on the one hand, by a peak effect, the magnetization force, instead of being distributed on the surface, is now distributed by points or lines (along the vertices of the ribs), these points or lines having thus a greater plating force than a surface pressure for equal magnetization.
- the ribs have a shape, in cross section, pointed, in particular of triangular shape.
- the ribs have a height extension relative to the lower hooks by a factor of at least two, more preferably at least five.
- the base is of substantially flat shape.
- the hook region has a width (in the direction from one edge end to the end of the other edge) of less than 10 mm, preferably between 3 and 10 mm.
- the ribs have a hooked shape, having a tip portion inclined with respect to the body of the rib, the inclined tip preferably being directed in the direction away from the region. of hooks.
- the hooks are made in the form of longitudinal rows, the number of rows preferably being less than or equal to three, with fir-shaped hooks and the rows being substantially parallel to the rows. ribs.
- the base is made of polyamide (nylon), in particular of type 6 to 12, preferably 12, or polyamide 6-6 (nylon 6-6).
- the selvedges have a width of less than 15 mm, in particular between 5 and 12 mm.
- the present invention also relates to an assembly comprising a mold of the bottom of which project one or more walls, preferably substantially vertical, delimiting internally a cavity closed on all sides except the top which is open, the opening of the cavity being delimited by the upper edges of the walls, and on the other hand an overmold according to the invention, the edges of which rest at least partly on the upper edges of the walls via the ribs.
- the selvedges protrude laterally beyond the walls of the outer side to the cavity.
- the overmould is in contact with the foam of the molded article by at least one part of its upper and lower faces, without having to provide a larger magnetization to go against the rise overmoulded under the effect of the action of the foam poured into the bottom which becomes pasty back.
- the present invention also relates to a molded object, a foam, which is fixed an overmold according to the invention.
- FIG. 1 is a perpendicular cross-sectional view of an overmold according to the invention
- the Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view of the overmold according to the invention placed on a cavity formed at the bottom of a mold
- Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view of the same overmoulded according to the invention that Figures 1 or 2 placed on another cavity formed at the bottom of a mold,
- the Figure 4 is an overview of a molded object obtained after solidification of the foam from the assembly described in FIG. Figure 2 ,

- the hooks are arranged in rows, three rows being represented at the Figure 1 .
- the base has a length (in the direction perpendicular to the drawing) much larger than its width.
- the rows of the hooks are arranged in a band that is longer than wide.
- the band 15 of hooks does not however extend longitudinally from the base. Indeed, it is provided two regions 7, 8 at the longitudinal end ends of the hookless hook tape. These two regions 7, 8 make it possible to lay the base with the hooks down on a cavity 9 at the bottom of the mold, at the longitudinal ends of the base 2.
- the width of the hooked band is between 3 and 10 mm .

- the ribs have a height calculated perpendicular to the edges 16 or 17 of between 0.2 mm and 4 mm. In particular, these ribs have a height less than that of the hooks, in particular less than half that of the hooks, more preferably less than a quarter of that of the hooks.
- the ribs 40, 41, 42 have a triangular cross-sectional shape, the tip facing downwards.

- the selvedges do not protrude beyond the vertical walls of the outer side to the cavity 9.
- a magnet is disposed at the bottom of the cavity 9.
- This magnet 30 exerts a force of attraction on the metal resin 5, so as to attract the overmoulded and thus apply tightly the edges 16 and 17 on the upper surfaces of the walls 10 and 11 vertical.
- the ribs 40, 41, 42 then form, with these upper surfaces, decompression chambers 50, 51.
- the force application is increased by a peak effect. Indeed, the attraction force of the resin by the magnet, which results in an application force of the edges 16 and 17 on the upper edges of the vertical walls 10 and 11, results in a greater plating force. concentrated on the tips, for a constant force of attraction.
- the overmoulded of the Figure 1 is represented the fact of disposing the overmoulded of the Figure 1 on a cavity having the selvedges that protrude from the outer side of the vertical walls.

- the continuity of the ribs is such that foam can not pass through these ribs, in the direction to the figure 6 going from left to right or vice versa, ie perpendicular to the ribs.
Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an overmoulded, intended to be fixed to an object cast in a foam in a mold, overmoulded having a base having a central portion, a first face of which are derived hooks forming a male portion of a self gripping, and two selvedge portions on either side of the central portion, and magnetic means cooperable with a magnet disposed at the bottom of a cavity defined by one or walls at the bottom of the mold. The magnet attracts the overmoulded, previously placed on the upper edges of the walls of the cavity with the hooks inside thereof, and plates its edges against the upper edges of the walls, thereby to seal the cavity, in which the hooks are located, so that foam can be poured into the mold without it enters the cavity and pollute the hooks coming into contact with them to lose their hanging character screws to loops of a hook and loop closure. Once the foam hardened, it forms a molded object which is fixed overmoulded, the latter having hooks that have not taken in the foam thanks to the protection conferred by the cavity and these hooks can then cooperate with loops for for example, attaching a fabric to the molded foam object, for example a car seat cushion.
Already known from the prior art overmoulded of this kind. These overmoldings of the prior art have the disadvantage, in particular, that their sealing vis-à-vis the foam that is poured into the mold, at the interface between the edges and the upper edges of the walls defining the cavity protection hooks, is not good. It is necessary to use magnets with strong magnetization, which are expensive. In addition, when it is made that the selvedges, when placed on the mold cavities, protrude beyond the walls to be suspended beyond the walls in the same mold that will be used to form the final molded object to anchor the overmoulded in the molded object, in particular by at least two contact faces, the foam that has been poured then tends to exert, when it en masse, a force upwards on its parts hanging edges, which tends to take off slightly overmolded the upper edges of the walls and to further reduce the tightness at level of the interface between these edges and the upper edge of the vertical walls.
According to the invention, an overmold is as defined in claim 1, the sub-claims for improvements.
When the overmoulded is placed on the upper edges of the boundary walls of a protective cavity of the hooks at the bottom of the mold intended to form the molded object to which it is desired to be fixed overmoulded, it is formed with these ribs of the chambers of decompression delimited by the edges, the ribs and the upper edges of the walls of delimitation of the cavity. These decompression chambers make it possible to increase the tightness of the upper edge-edge interface, by equal magnetization force. Indeed, on the one hand, by a peak effect, the magnetization force, instead of being distributed on the surface, is now distributed by points or lines (along the vertices of the ribs), these points or lines having thus a greater plating force than a surface pressure for equal magnetization. On the other hand, when the foam is poured, there are pockets of low pressure air in the decompression chambers. When one of the ribs loses contact under the effect of the pressure of the foam and that it enters a first of these chambers, the outermost relative to the hooks, there is a kind of decompression or relaxation of the foam, which then freezes, which tends to stop the progression to the next room.
In a preferred embodiment, the ribs have a shape, in cross section, pointed, in particular of triangular shape.
According to a preferred embodiment, the ribs have a height extension relative to the lower hooks by a factor of at least two, more preferably at least five.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the base is of substantially flat shape.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the hook region has a width (in the direction from one edge end to the end of the other edge) of less than 10 mm, preferably between 3 and 10 mm.
According to another preferred embodiment of the invention, the ribs have a hooked shape, having a tip portion inclined with respect to the body of the rib, the inclined tip preferably being directed in the direction away from the region. of hooks.
According to another preferred embodiment of the invention, the hooks are made in the form of longitudinal rows, the number of rows preferably being less than or equal to three, with fir-shaped hooks and the rows being substantially parallel to the rows. ribs.
Suivant un mode de réalisation particulièrement préféré de l'invention, la base est en polyamide (nylon), notamment de type 6 à 12, de préférence 12, ou en polyamide 6-6 (nylon 6-6).According to a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the base is made of polyamide (nylon), in particular of
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the selvedges have a width of less than 15 mm, in particular between 5 and 12 mm.
The present invention also relates to an assembly comprising a mold of the bottom of which project one or more walls, preferably substantially vertical, delimiting internally a cavity closed on all sides except the top which is open, the opening of the cavity being delimited by the upper edges of the walls, and on the other hand an overmold according to the invention, the edges of which rest at least partly on the upper edges of the walls via the ribs.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the selvedges protrude laterally beyond the walls of the outer side to the cavity.
According to the invention, it can now be ensured that the overmould is in contact with the foam of the molded article by at least one part of its upper and lower faces, without having to provide a larger magnetization to go against the rise overmoulded under the effect of the action of the foam poured into the bottom which becomes pasty back.
Finally, the present invention also relates to a molded object, a foam, which is fixed an overmold according to the invention.
In the figures, given solely by way of example, an embodiment of the invention is described.

The foam that is cast is a material compatible with that of overmoulded, that is to say, it fixes well when it solidifies in contact with the overmoulded. In particular, it is possible to choose a polyurethane or polyether foam. Other materials are obviously possible too.
The ribs are separated from one another by a flat section of the selvedge, this flat section extending from one rib to the next rib a distance which may be between 0.3mm and 2mm.

Claims (10)
- Overmould comprising a base (2) having a central section, said central section having a length in a first direction and a width in a second direction perpendicular to said first direction and from a first side of which hooks (3) project which form the male part of a self-gripping member, two sections (16, 17) forming selvages, laterally from each side of the central section, and magnetic means (5) which can cooperate with a magnet in order to attract the overmould, characterised in that :- the selvages each comprise at least two ribs (40, 41, 42) which project from the selvages on the same side of the base as the hooks, the ribs being continuous along the full said a length of said central section in such a way that foam cannot pass across the ribs in said second direction ; and- the ribs have a height (perpendicularly to the base) which is lower than that of the hooks.
- Overmould according to claim 1, characterised in that the ribs (40, 41, 42) have a pointed shape in cross-section, particularly triangular.
- Overmould according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the ribs have a hook-like shape, having a pointed section inclined in relation to the body of the rib, the inclined point preferably being oriented in the direction away from the region of the hooks.
- Overmould according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the ribs have a height (perpendicularly to the base) which is lower than that of the hooks by a factor of at least two, more preferably at least five.
- Overmould according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the base is formed so as to be substantially planar.
- Overmould according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the selvages extend laterally from the side of the ribs which is remote from the hooks over a distance which is greater than the distance between the hooks and the ribs.
- Overmould according to one of the claims 1 to 5, characterised in that at least three ribs are provided.
- Assembly comprising a mould, from the bottom of which one or more walls project, preferably vertical walls, delimiting inside a cavity which is closed on all sides with the exception of the top which is open, the opening of the cavity being delimited by the upper edges of the walls, and on the other hand an overmould according to one of the claims 1 to 7, of which the selvages rest at least partially on the upper edges of the walls by means of the ribs.
- Assembly according to claim 8, characterised in that the selvages project laterally beyond the walls of the outer side of the cavity.
- Moulded object, of foam, to which an overmould is fixed according to one of the claims 1 to 7.
