- At least one bar 21 is provided which connects the two panels 16a, 16b to one another.
- This bar 21 is disposed at an upper half of the panels and welded to the edge B of the latter.
- the bar 21 is at a front portion of the assembly. It is outside the cowlings 6a and 6b and can serve as a manual handle of the fork (see figure 1 ). There will be provided holding handles 37 disposed at the rear portion of the mounting (a handle on each panel 16a, 16b).
- bars 22 may also be provided to hold the ammunition boxes (see FIG. figure 2b ). These bars will be arranged horizontally between one edge and the other of the border B.
- a stiffener 23 disposed laterally to one of the panels (here the panel 16b).
- This stiffener 23 consists of a cut sheet and comprises four arms, three of which bear on the fork 3 (see FIG. figure 5 ).
- a first arm 23a bears at an upper part of the panel 16b to which it is connected by screws, substantially below the pin 13.
- a second arm 23b and a third arm 23c are screw-connected to the bushing 17 substantially at each bearing 19.
- This fourth arm is optional. It makes it possible to stiffen the horizontal plate 24.
- Such a stiffener geometry makes it possible to transmit to the bushing 17 the lateral forces experienced by the fork 3 at the level of the trunnions 13, and this whatever the direction of the forces. However, the logging must be done in such a way as to allow the transmission of axial efforts. This transmission of forces along the axis of the trunnions is provided by the arm 8 and the flange 12. Such an arrangement ensures sufficient rigidity with a reduced mass. It is particularly unnecessary to provide a stiffener on each panel, a single stiffener is sufficient to ensure the desired rigidity for the entire fork.
- the plate 24 carries a first geared motor 25 which pivots the fork 3 relative to the base 2 ( figure 2a ).
- the geared motor 25 comprises a gear 26 which meshes with a ring gear 27 integral with the base 2 (the representation of the gears and the crown is here schematic and the teeth are not shown).
- the panel 16b carries a second geared motor 28 which makes it possible to pivot the cradle 7 with respect to the trunnions 13 ( figure 4a ).
- This geared motor 28 thus comprises a pinion 29 which meshes with a toothed sector 30 integral with the cradle 7.
- the toothed sector 30 is more particularly visible at the figure 6 . It is carried by the support sector 35 of the cradle 7 which is a single piece connecting the front arms 8 and rear 9 of the cradle 7.
- the sector 30 is extended by two bearing surfaces 31 and 32 which are each intended to cooperate with a stop 33, 34 carried by the panel 16b.
- the weapon assembly according to the invention comprises a base 2 of reduced height and that all the control members (motor reducers 25, 28) are arranged outside the base at the level of the panel 16b. It is the same with the electronic control unit 36 (see figure 2a ).
- each panel 16a, 16b that is to say a structure associating a border B integral with at least one plate P, also facilitates the assembly of components or organs on the panel without impairing its mechanical strength.
- Ammunition bins may also be disposed at the level of the panel 16a behind the cowling 6a, fixed to the bars 22.
- the ammunition carrying capacity is important and the panel 16b has no stiffener which facilitates the placement of the bins. .
- the weapon assembly according to the invention is therefore very compact and easy to maintain.
- the compactness can also be modulated by varying the height of the cylinder 17 bearing the bearings and the associated socket 18.
- the design proposed by the invention greatly reduces the mass of the assembly. It is thus possible to substantially divide by two the mass of a particular carriage.
- the assembly according to the invention thus has a mass of about 350 kg with 200 ammunition for a weapon caliber of 20 mm against a mass of nearly 700 kg for known carriages.

Abstract
Description
The technical field of the invention is that of weapons assemblies and in particular that of naval weapons assemblies of small or medium caliber, that is to say whose caliber is between 12.7mm and 45 mm.
The weapons assemblies used in the naval field are usually constituted by a turret carrying the weapon and pivotally mounted relative to a base integral with the deck of the ship.
The known turrets have a large mass (of the order of 700 kg) which limits their use to large vessels.
Furthermore, the pedestals are generally bulky because they house the motorization means and electronic control boxes of the turret.
It is not possible to reduce the vertical bulk of these turrets except to pierce the deck of the ship to hide the base below the deck, which is not usually possible when seeking to equip an existing ship.
Although bulky, the pedestals offer limited access to the electronic housings they contain and the engines.

The object of the invention is to propose a mounting of reduced mass weapon and also reduced height which increases its stealth and facilitates its implementation on ships of low tonnage.
Another object of the invention is to facilitate nevertheless the maintenance of the weapon assembly by allowing easy access to all equipment and housings.
Thus the invention relates to a weapon assembly comprising a cradle supporting the weapon and pivotally mounted on journals secured to a carriage, carriage itself pivotable relative to a base around a substantially vertical axis, the carriage comprising a fork comprising two substantially vertical panels, each panel being integral with a bushing, mounting characterized in that the bushing is disposed facing each panel and pivotally mounted on at least two bearings relative to a cylinder secured to the base, the cylinder penetrating into the socket.
Each panel will advantageously consist of a mechanically welded assembly comprising a peripheral edge integral with at least one plate.
Each panel can be connected to the socket by at least two ribs.
The panels will preferably be connected to each other by at least one bar or plate disposed at an upper half of the panels.
The cradle may comprise two arms connecting two slides, one of the arms being disposed substantially at the level of the trunnions.

The
The
Un roulement 19 étant disposé sensiblement à chaque extrémité du cylindre 18.Pivoting is ensured by mounting at least two
To increase the rigidity of the assembly, at least one
Par ailleurs, conformément à l'invention, on prévoira un raidisseur 23 disposé latéralement à un des panneaux (ici le panneau 16b).Furthermore, according to the invention, there will be provided a
Such a stiffener geometry makes it possible to transmit to the

Une telle disposition simplifie le montage de la fourcheThis ensures extremely simple end stops of the pivoting of the
In addition to improving the mechanical strength of the assembly, the rack structure of each
Ammunition bins may also be disposed at the level of the
The weapon assembly according to the invention is therefore very compact and easy to maintain. The compactness can also be modulated by varying the height of the
