Im unteren Bereich des Laugenbehälters (1) ist eine Steigleitung bestehend aus einer Luftfalle (5) und einem Schlauch (6) angeordnet, in der nach dem Luftfallenprinzip das Wasser korrespondierend zum Niveau im Laugenbehälter (1) steigt. Am Ende der Steigleitung bzw. des Schlauchs (6) ist ein nicht näher dargestellter analoger Drucksensor direkt auf der Steuerplatine der Programmsteuereinrichtung (7) angeordnet. Das gesamte System (Luftfalle bzw. Steigleitung und Schlauch zum Drucksensor) ist luftdicht abgeschlossen. Auf diese Weise erhöht sich mit steigendem Wasserstand im Laugenbehälter (1) der Luftdruck in der Steigleitung bzw. der Luftfalle (5). Dabei kann die Wasservorlage reduziert oder auch ganz entleert werden. Um das Austreten von feuchter Prozessluft aus dem Waschmitteleinspülkasten (3) während des Trockenvorganges zu vermeiden, wird der Siphon (4) vor oder während eines Trockenprogramms durch Wasserzufuhr nach dem in Figur 3 gezeigten Verfahrensablauf wieder befüllt. Ein Überfüllen der Wasservorlage bzw. des Siphons (4) bei noch teilweise oder ganz gefüllter Wasservorlage wird durch eine dem Füllvorgang vorgeschaltete Erfassung des Füllzustandes im Siphon (4) vermieden. Dazu wird das Spannungssignal des an die Luftfalle angeschlossenen analogen Drucksensors ausgewertet. Bei der Auswertung des Spannungssignals des analogen Drucksensors wird die Erkenntnis ausgenutzt, dass eine Niveauerfassung für den Füllstand im Laugenbehälter (1) nur bei gefüllter Wasservorlage bzw. bei gefülltem Siphon (4) möglich ist, wobei sich mit steigendem Wasserstand im Laugenbehälter (1) der Luftdruck in der Steigleitung erhöht. Vor dem Trockenvorgang wird zur Erfassung des Füllzustandes im Siphon (4) das Gebläse (13) für die Zirkulation der Prozessluft eingeschaltet und eine Auswertung des Spannungssignals des analogen Drucksensors durchgeführt. Danach wird das Gebläse (13) abgeschaltet und eine erneute Auswertung des Spannungssignals durchgeführt. Es ist vorteilhaft, nach dem Ein- bzw. Ausschalten des Gebläses (13) die Niveaumessungen ca. 8 s. verzögert durchzuführen.
