The invention has for its object to provide a nozzle for vacuum cleaner, which can be used either with the broad side of the suction head or with the narrow side of the suction head ahead. The orientation of the suction head should be easily steerable by a rotational movement of a suction pipe connected to the pipe socket.
Starting from a nozzle with the features described above, the object is achieved in that the flexible conduit is fixed end to the pipe socket and the suction head and due to its torsional stiffness of a rotary movement of the pipe socket about its axis as a steering movement on the suction head transmits that the joint connection a arranged on the suction cup-shaped bearing shell with an encompassed by the pipe socket opening, wherein the opening allows vertical pivotal movement of the pipe socket both transversely and parallel to the broad side of the suction head that the pipe socket is provided with an annular shoulder, which is rotatable about its axis on the bearing shell is present and is pivotally guided within the opening, and that the flexible conduit as a result of their torsional stiffness a rotational movement of the pipe socket to transmits its axis as a steering movement on the suction head. The flexible line fulfills several functions within the scope of the teaching according to the invention. It serves to guide the air flow of the suction air stream. It also transmits torsional forces during a rotational movement of the pipe socket or a suction pipe connected to the pipe socket and causes steering movements of the suction head resting on a floor. Steering movements here are rotational movements of the suction head to the right or left while maintaining the orientation of the suction tube understood. The flexible cable only passes on the torsional force. Sliding forces and other axial forces occurring during the handling of the nozzle are absorbed by the articulated connection, which is provided between the suction head and the pipe socket. As articulated connection any designs can be used which can absorb axial forces and allow the previously described effect of the flexible line for transmitting steering movements to the suction head.
As a flexible line, for example, a hose, corrugated hose or a bellows can be used. The cable cross-section is subject to no restrictions. It may be cylindrical or a deviating from the cylindrical shape geometry, for. B. an oval or square cross-section. The flexible conduit can furthermore have a cross-section which changes in the longitudinal direction of the conduit. In the context of the invention, it is finally that the flexible conduit is composed of segments which are movable, but rotatably connected. The segments are movably connected, so that the line is flexible. The shape of the segments or their connection is designed so that torsional forces can be transmitted.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the articulated connection has a calotte-shaped bearing shell arranged on the suction head with an opening through which the pipe socket passes, wherein the opening vertical pivoting movements of the pipe socket allows both transversely and parallel to the broad side of the suction head. The pipe socket is provided with an annular shoulder which rests on its rotational axis on the bearing shell about its axis and is guided pivotably within the opening. For the further design of this joint, there are several constructive possibility, which are explained below.
A first preferred embodiment of the invention provides that the opening of the bearing shell forms a slotted guide for the pipe socket, which is guided displaceably between the edges of the opening. The opening is formed as an arcuately curved guide slot, wherein the one end of the guide slot extends substantially transversely to the broad side of the suction head and the other end of the guide slot extends substantially parallel to the broad side of the suction head. The width of the guide slot is adapted to the diameter of the pipe socket. For receiving axial forces a guide receptacle for the annular shoulder of the pipe socket is arranged either on the inside of the bearing shell, which extends along the boundary of the opening, or alternatively a ring is arranged on the pipe socket, which covers the boundary of the opening on the outside of the bearing shell , In both versions, a positive connection between the annular shoulder and the bearing shell is ensured, which allows sliding movements of the pipe socket within the opening and at the same time rotational movements of the pipe socket to the tube axis.
A further, likewise preferred embodiment of the invention provides that the annular shoulder is formed as a spherical segment surface, which rests against the inner surface of the bearing shell, and that on the pipe socket, a concave guide element is formed or fixed, which the edge of the opening on the outside of the Bearing shell covered. In this version the invention, the opening in the bearing shell is wider than the diameter of the pipe socket and the pipe socket is freely movable within the opening. It is understood that the integrally formed on the pipe socket spherical segment surface and the guide element are so large dimensions that at each position of the pipe socket within the opening always a coverage of the spherical segment surface and the guide element is ensured with the boundary of the opening.
