Abstract

The glove has an anti-reversal unit with a check strap (9) that is flexible, mechanically resistant and has low elongation under traction. The strap is mounted between an end (9a) fixed to ends of digital parts for the index and little fingers and an anchoring zone situated at the level of the wrist part. The strap is placed between an outer layer of the glove and an inner liner. A removable blocking unit blocks the strap in the zone. The length of the strap is determined such that the strap is in a tight state when the hand has a given angular arrangement. Description

The present invention relates to a glove intended more particularly for the practice of ball sports, especially a goalkeeper glove, which glove is equipped with means to prevent the flipping of the fingers.

The practice of a high-level sport induces, almost compulsorily, the risk of incidents or accidents likely to have repercussions on the physical integrity. In the field of football, the one who occupies the place of goalkeeper has the function of stopping the ball before it enters the goal and for this he has the ability to stop with the hands, unlike other players.

One of the most frequent incidents or accidents that happens to the goalkeepers is the flipping of a finger, which is due, in particular, in case of reflex stop, instantaneous interposition of the hand across the trajectory of 'a balloon at high speed.

While the goalkeepers have gloves whose front is lined with foam to cushion the impact of the ball.

Being arranged in the portion of the glove facing the hand and being of flexible constitution, the stop element does not present any inconvenience to the goalkeeper in the usual movements of the hand.

When the impact of the balloon intervenes on the digital part of the glove, this impact tends to bend backward said digital part and, consequently, to turn the finger. The presence of the stop element, attached to the anchorage area at the wrist and towards the end of the part digital, prevents this bending or at least the limit to the elongation capacity of the stop member under the force generated by this impact.

As in a seatbelt, it is the stop element which undergoes, by its tensioning, the force generated by the impact.

In one embodiment, the first end of the stop member is fixed towards the end of the finger portion of the glove, both on the back and on the front thereof, said element of stop then completely surrounding the end of the finger.

In an alternative embodiment, the second end of the stop member is fixed permanently in the anchoring zone to the wrist portion of the glove.

However, this variant is not totally optimal since it does not allow adaptation to the morphology of the guard, the length L of the stop element being defined once and for all during the making of the glove, with the possible inaccuracies due to such making.

Thus, preferably, in an alternative embodiment, the locking means of the protective element in the anchoring zone are removable means for adjusting the length L of the strap between the first end and the anchoring zone .

This particular provision is intended to allow the keeper to make himself the adjustment of the length L which suits him.

In the first example, the glove 1 which will be described below is a glove specifically designed for goalkeeper to avoid the risk of overturning the two fingers most exposed to the impact of the ball, namely the index and the little finger.

This glove 1 comprises a main body 2, five digital parts, respectively a first digital part 3 for the thumb, a second digital part 4 for the index, a third digital part 5 for the middle finger, a fourth digital part 6 for the ring and a fifth digit part 7 for the little finger, as well as a wrist part 8.

Figure 1 illustrates the glove 1 seen on the front. In other words, in this figure, we see the face that is applied on the palm of the hand to the level of the main body 2 and on the inside of the fingers with respect to the digital parts 3 to 7.

This is of course the opposite with regard to Figure 2, which shows the back side of the glove, that is to say that which covers the back of the hand and the outer face of the fingers.

In this first example, the glove 1 comprises anti-rollover means of the index finger and the little finger which each consist of a textile strap, which by nature is flexible, mechanically resistant and very low elongation under tension.

This strap 9 is mounted freely inside the glove 1 between a first end 9a which is fixed by stitching towards the end of the finger part respectively 4 with respect to the index and 7 with respect to the little finger. In practice, it is mounted between the outer layer 16, in particular of damping foam, the glove and the inner liner 17.

For the sake of simplification, it will be done initially refer only to the strap 9 mounted inside the digital portion 4 for the index 10.

In this first example illustrated in FIG. 3, the fixing of the first end 9a of the strap 9 is carried out by a seam line 11 on the front 1a of the glove 1. The strap 9, from this seam line 11, passes on the front 1a of the glove 1 to an anchoring zone 12. The possible sliding of the strap 9 into the inside of the glove 1 is delimited by two seam lines 22, 23 (FIG. 1) assembling the outer layer 16 and the inner lining 17, forming a sort of sliding channel of the strap 9 in the finger portion 4 and in the main body 2 to the wrist portion 8.

The length L of the strap 9 between the seam line 11 to the anchoring zone 12 must be determined so that said strap 9 is in the stretched state when the hand is in a given angular position. The angular position in question is, for a particular guardian, the ultimate position that he considers acceptable, beyond which there is would risk turning the finger.

It is understood that this angular position may vary from one individual to another, and this has led to propose that the length L of said strap is adjustable by means of removable locking means of the strap at the zone anchor 12.

Optionally, if the glove is made to measure for a given individual, the strap can be purely and simply fixed by sewing at the wrist in the anchoring zone.

As shown in Figure 3, the anchoring zone 12 is, in this example, at the wrist portion 8 on the rear face 1b of the glove 1. In its path inside the glove 1, the strap 9 bypasses the hand 13 at the wrist 13a. This course at the wrist portion 8 is made possible by the presence of loops 14 visible in Figure 4, said loops 14 being sewn on the inner face of the wrist portion 8.

This wrist portion 8 has a passage opening 15 which opens outwardly of the glove; the strap 9 therefore comprises an outer portion 9b, which opens out of the glove 1 through the passage opening 15; it is this outer portion 9b of the strap 9 which allows the keeper to adjust the length L of the strap, depending on the angular disposition of the hand he wants.

It is this same outer portion 9b of the strap 9 which must be locked in position at the anchoring zone 12. This anchoring zone 12 may be precisely located at the passage opening 15 or possibly, beyond this opening on the outer face of the wrist part 8.

The locking means serve to lock the strap 9 in position at the anchoring zone 12, so that the strap 9 is firmly fixed between its two fixed ends, the first corresponding to the seam line 11. towards the end of the digital portion 4 and the other corresponding to the anchoring zone 12. In FIG. outer portion 9b of the strap is provided on its distal portion 20 with hooks 18 of a hook-and-loop self-gripping fastening system, and the wrist portion 8 is provided with loops 19, able to cooperate with said hooks 18, for fixing said distal portion 20 on the wrist portion 8, in an area which corresponds to the anchoring zone 12. The same loop zone 19 can also be used also for fixing the strap 9 '(FIG. 1) mounted in the digital part 7 of the little finger. A protective flap, not shown, can be provided on the wrist portion 8 to cover the passage opening 15, the outer portion 9b of the strap 9 and the loop zone 19. This flap could comprise hooks adapted to cooperate with the loops 19 for attachment to the wrist portion 8.

During the impact of the balloon on the only digital portion 4, the force implemented by this impact pushes said digital portion 4 backwards along the arrow F relative to the other parts of the glove. This bending towards the back of the digital portion 4 can be done only if there is an elongation of the length L of the strap 9 between the anchoring zone 12 and the seam line 11. Because of the resistance mechanical and low elongation under tension of said strap 9, this rear bending is prevented, which prevents the reversal of the index finger 10.

The sewing line 11 is made through all the layers of the glove and the strap 9. However, during the impact of the balloon, there may be a risk of tearing of the glove according to this sewing line 11, under the effect of pulling the strap. To avoid or at least limit this risk, it is desirable that the strap 9, beyond this seam line 11 on the front face 1a of the glove is extended so that the extension 9c surrounds the end 10a of the finger 10 to a second seam line 21 on the rear face 1b of the glove, as shown in Figure 3. The pulling effect is reflected on the two seam lines 11, 21 in sufficiently distant areas to avoid or limit this tearing with fingertip protection.

The second embodiment which is illustrated in FIG. 5 shows a glove 30 which differs mainly from that of the first example in that it comprises four straps 31 to 34, respectively a first strap 31 for the index 35, a second strap 32 for the major 36, a third strap 33 for the annular 37 and a fourth strap 34 for the little finger 38. Each of these straps is fixed by its first end to the end of the corresponding digital part. Each strap 31 to 34 is disposed between the outer layer of cushioning foam 39 and the inner liner, not visible in FIG.

Between the outer foam layer 39 and the inner lining are formed, by seam lines, sliding channels for each of the four straps 31 to 34. These sewing lines are made discontinuously so as to allow the crossing of the first and second straps 31, 32 and third and fourth straps 33, 34, forming two pairs, each of which is joined at its free end to one and the same attachment tab 40, 41.
