Abstract

The device has angle irons holding a double sided panel by a fixation screw and nut. Each iron has an end, which is opposite to the panel, for holding upper part of a spring (4) using a screw (7) on a pin (8). Each spring has a lower part fixed on a magnet (5) protected by a cap (6). The irons induce traction force on the springs on the wind side and thrust force on the springs on the side opposite to wind.

Description

Domaine techniqueTechnical area

The present invention relates to a device for maintaining in a substantially vertical position a repositionable load, more particularly a repositionable panel, which is subjected to forces from a force, for example a weight, more particularly a fluid, for example a gas or a liquid in motion. More particularly, the present invention relates to a device for maintaining a panel in a substantially vertical position which is subjected to the action of air, wind, or water, which exerts forces substantially perpendicular to the panel. Still more particularly the present invention relates to a device for holding a panel in a substantially vertical position which is subjected to the action of air moving substantially perpendicular to the panel, such as for example a panel in a vertical position relative to the roof of the panel. a vehicle and in a plane perpendicular to the direction of travel of the vehicle.

Arrière-plan de l'inventionBackground of the invention

Many devices are known for maintaining a flat panel on the roof of a vehicle, this panel including an advertising or information function. Such panels must be able to mount and conversely disassemble easily on the roof of the vehicle without damaging the bodywork. In addition, these panels must be able to withstand the force of the air that acts on these panels during the movement of the vehicle.

The patent No. 1,942,444 Issued to FJ O'CONNOR, on 1 February 1933 describes a device for holding a sign on a vehicle the panel is placed in a plane parallel to the travel direction of the vehicle, that is to say in a plane longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The purpose of this device is to maintain the panel solidly vis-à-vis the lateral pressure of the wind. For this purpose the panel is maintained by a system of metal straps.

French patent application No. 2,658,643 discloses a magnetic information board medium. This patent application mentions in its description of the prior art "that there are magnetic supports that can first be placed on any metal surface on which they are then retained by magnetic adhesion, and secondly receive any type of mechanical fastening which makes them integral with various objects such as information panels etc. When these panels and their support must be exposed in the open air and then undergo the action of the wind, their mechanical connection is generally made of a spring that allows the panel to tilt under the wind pressure without tearing the magnetic medium. "Thus, according to the prior art described in this patent application, the panels tilt under the thrust of the wind. Referring to the figure 1 of this document, we see that the panel is placed in a plane parallel to the direction of movement of the vehicle, that is to say in a longitudinal plane of the vehicle. The differences between this document FR-A-2,658,643 which is considered the closest state of the art will be explained later, with reference to the accompanying drawings. The document DE3911636A is considered to be the closest state of the art.

All of the prior art devices are intended to provide a device for holding a panel on a vehicle roof that can be easily positioned on the vehicle, can be easily removed from the vehicle, does not damage the vehicle body, and weatherproof like rain and especially the wind. These devices of the prior art only envisage the maintenance of a substantially plane panel in the longitudinal plane of a vehicle, that is to say in a plane parallel to the direction of movement of the vehicle. These panels which are intended to include inscriptions such as information or advertisements are visible essentially by people who are placed laterally at vehicle and therefore essentially by pedestrians moving on parallel tracks in the direction of movement of the vehicle. On the other hand, drivers of other vehicles in front of or behind the vehicle with the billboard will not be able to view the information on the sign. However, most of the consumers for whom the information supported by the panel is intended are users who are either in private vehicles or in vehicles for public transport. The interest of a billboard in the longitudinal plane of a vehicle, that is to say in the direction of travel of the vehicle, is reduced compared to the interest of a billboard in a perpendicular plane in the sense of driving the vehicle. The proof of this is that some vehicle owners like taxis have posted advertisements on their side doors. However this mode of advertising is not acclaimed by the owners of private vehicles because the visibility of the commercials is not accessible to drivers or passengers of other vehicles. On the other hand, large-volume public transit vehicles, such as buses and buses, have displayed advertisements not only on their side walls, but also on their back walls. In the latter case, the advertising messages on the rear wall are much more visible by the drivers of vehicles at the rear of the coach or bus and the location of these rear billboards clearly visible is more beneficial for rental companies. advertising space as the location of billboards placed on the side walls of the coach or bus.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a support device on a support of a panel perpendicular to the direction of movement of a vehicle, and therefore perpendicular to the thrust of air, wind and / or the rain, which is much stronger in this case than in the case where the panel is placed in a longitudinal plane of the vehicle, that is to say in a plane parallel to the direction of the walk. This holding device on a support of a panel perpendicular to the thrust of a fluid such as air, wind and / or rain, snow, etc., must also maintain the substantially vertical position of the panel. Indeed, if the panel leans too much under the thrust of the fluid, it does not allow the reading of the information or advertising message.

Therefore, another object of the present invention is to provide a support device on a support of a panel perpendicular to the thrust of a fluid, and in a substantially vertical position.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a support device on a support of a panel perpendicular to the thrust of a fluid, and in substantially vertical position, said device can be removably placed on said support.

Yet another object of the present invention is to provide an assembly consisting of a holding device on a support of a panel perpendicular to the thrust of a fluid and the panel.

Le sens de la flèche F2 est opposé au sens de la flèche F1.The figure 1 is a schematic representation of the device according to the present invention which provides a better understanding of its operation. The device according to the invention comprises a panel P which has a small thickness with respect to its main surface which for example may be rectangular. This main surface is therefore subjected to the action of a fluid acting in the direction of the arrow F1, namely a fluid exerting a force substantially perpendicular to the main surface of the panel P. The fluid may for example exert its force according to a direction oblique to the plane of the main surface of the panel P. The fluid may be a moving gas, such as air, a liquid, such as water. According to the present invention, the panel P is mounted on a support (not shown on the figure 1 ) which can for example be horizontal (see Figures 7 to 11 , 13 , 14 ) but who can also be vertical, as shown on the figure 12 , by means of at least three elastic means A, B, and C. These elastic mounting means have an end 1 fixed on the support and the opposite end 2 integral with an arm 3 for holding the panel P. The object of the present invention is that the panel P fixed on the support does not detach under the thrust of the fluid in the direction of arrow F1 and does not tilt relative to its initial position. The at least three elastic mounting means A, B, and C are such that, when the fluid exerts a thrust on the panel, at least one resilient mounting means undergoes compression, and at least one elastic mounting means undergoes an extension. . In the case of figure 1 two elastic mounting means A, B are extended, and a resilient mounting means C is compressed. The means which are extended are those (A E and B E in the case of the figure 1 ) which first undergo the action of the thrust of the fluid, while the elastic means of assembly which undergo a compression are those (C c in the case of the figure 1 ) which after the others undergo the action of the thrust of the fluid. In the case of figure 2 the elastically extending mounting means is the one which first undergoes the action of the thrust F2, namely C E , and the elastic mounting means which undergoes compression are those which undergo, after the others, the action the thrust of the fluid in the direction of the arrow F2, namely B c and A c . The direction of the arrow F2 is opposite the direction of the arrow F1.

The elastic mounting means A, B and C may be coil springs, which compress and stretch along their length, but which can also be deformed S-shaped, when the fluid is turned off. It is also possible to provide piston-cylinder systems that will be able to modify their length, but which on the other hand will not be able to deform.

On the figure 3 it can be seen that the panel P is held by means of four holding arms 4, 5, 6 and 7 which each comprise a spring. The two holding arms 4, 5 are located on one side of the panel P and the other two holding arms 6, 7 are located on the opposite side of the panel P. The system operates in the same manner as in the previous embodiments. When the panel P is subjected to the thrust of the fluid, according to the arrow F1, the springs of the arms 6, 7 which are subjected first to the thrust F1 of the fluid are extended, while the springs of the arms 4, 5 which are subjected after others to the thrust of the fluid undergo compression. On the contrary, in the direction of the arrow F2 opposite to the direction of the arrow F1, the springs of the arms 4, 5 are extended, while the springs of the arms 6, 7 undergo compression.

According to the invention, the combined action of the elastic means always maintains the panel P in a vertical plane. It should be noted that the elastic mounting means of the panel are such that at least one elastic means is in a plane different from the plane of the main surface of the panel P, and therefore in a plane different from the surface of the panel undergoing the strongest thrust of the fluid.

Referring now to the figure 4 which schematically illustrates a device of the prior art described in the document FR-A-2,658,643 it can be seen that the panel P is held by two springs 8, 9 which are situated in the plane of the panel P. When the main face of the panel P undergoes a thrust of a fluid in the direction of the arrow F, which is substantially perpendicular to the plane of the main face, the panel p will bow, and as explained in the document FR-A-2,658,643 it will lie on the support, that is to say in this case against the roof surface of the vehicle. The invention aims above all to prevent this phenomenon, and aims on the contrary to keep the panel substantially vertical.

Having explained the principle of the present invention, will now be explained in more detail the various embodiments of the present invention.

The figure 5 is a perspective view of a first embodiment of the device according to the present invention. The support device of a panel P according to the invention comprises four holding arms 10, 11, 12, 13 which keep the panel P vertical. These arms have the shape of a bracket which at one end comprises an elastic means 14, 15, 16, 17, each having a removable fixing means 18, 19, 20, 21, respectively, on a support S. Each bracket is substantially a triangle which on one of its sides supports the panel P and at the opposite end of the opposite side supports the elastic means. It should be noted that according to an essential feature of the present invention, the elastic means are in a plane different from the plane of the panel P. As can be seen more particularly hard the figure 7 when the fluid exerts a thrust along the arrow F1 in the direction perpendicular to the panel P, the elastic mounting means 14, 16 which undergo the first thrust of the fluid in the direction of the arrow F1, are extended, while the elastic mounting means 15, 17 which then undergo the thrust of the fluid are subjected to compression. The elastic mounting means 14, 15, 16, 17 are longitudinal and thus move the lower edge of the support panel S. Thus, the fluid can pass under the lower edge 22 and thus its force is divided.

The removable repositionable fastening means 18, 19, 20, 21 are for example magnets, but can also be suckers, as shown in FIG. figure 6 . The magnets can be electric induction magnets and be active when an electric current acts on them and be inactive when the electric current is cut off. A chosen number of elastic means may be used, each having a removable fixing means. The greater the number of medium-elastic means of attachment systems, the greater the resistance to pull-out is important.

La partie inférieure des ressorts 34 est fixée par boulonnage 39 sur l'aimant 35.On the figure 9 there is shown a possible embodiment of the invention. The panel P is held by two brackets 32 (for example aluminum) by bolting 31. The four brackets 33 (for example steel) on either side of the panel P come to rest against it and are fixed together. by bolting 31, the whole being embedded in the two angles by bolting 31. The upper part of the springs 34 and fixed to the lower part at the end of the brackets 33 on the opposite side to the panel P by screws 37 on ankle 38. lower part of the springs 34 is fixed by bolting 39 to the magnet 35.

On the figure 14 there is shown an improved device of the present invention, which is even the best embodiment of the invention. The panel P 'is not a flat panel, as before, but is a panel whose front and rear faces are spaced from the vertical plane passing through the axis of symmetry XX of the device. The panel P 'substantially follows the shape of the brackets 10, 11, 12, 13 represented on the figure 5 that is, having the shape of right-angled vertical side triangle 41 and horizontal side 42, but the third side 43 not being rectilinear but being curved, i.e. concave. This form of the panel makes it possible to deflect the force of the fluid that will not come to strike directly on the face of the panel, as in the preceding examples of realization, but which will come to lick the side of the curved triangle and thus which will be deflected upwards, as represented by the arrow F3 on the figure 14 . Such a device has even less grip on the force of the fluid and therefore will be more securely fixed on the support S and will have less tendency to detach.

The devices represented on the Figures 5 to 10 and 14 , 15 are intended to be removably attached to roofs of vehicles traveling at speeds as high as 180 km / h and more. Thus, when stopping the vehicle is placed the device with the help of four magnets and faith in place this device will not run off the roof, even when the vehicle is over 180 km / h.

The figure 11 represents a panel P which is intended to be placed on the ground which is therefore immobile.

The figure 12 shown a panel P which has four holding arms 51, 52, 53, 54 on a stationary vertical wall. The arms 52, 54 are located in a plane in front of the plane of the vertical P-panel, while the arms 51 and 53 are located in the vertical plane of the P-panel. When the wind blows and hits the P-panel, the springs 56, 57, 58 placed at the ends of the arms are in compression, while the spring 55 is in extension. If the wind blows in the opposite direction, the spring 57 is extended, and the springs 55, 56, 58 are in compression. So whatever the direction of the wind, the panel will remain vertical.

The device represented on the figure 13 is somewhat different from the previous ones because the panel P is not flat but cylindrical. It is intended to be fixed on the ground by means of four arms 61, 62, 63 and 64 which are secured to four springs 65, 66, 67, 68 fixed by means of four suction pads 69, 70, 71, 72 on the ground . When the wind has any direction, it exerts a thrust on the cylinder and as explained above, two springs are then in compression and the other two spring are extended to thereby maintain the vertical panel P.

In all the devices described above, the springs also have the function of keeping the lower edge of the panel remote from the support, which also makes it possible to deflect part of the path of the fluid and thus to reduce its impact force on the sign.

The whole represented on the Figures 16 and 17 consists of two devices according to the present invention. It can be seen that the device comprises a holding arm 80 and two elastic mounting means 81, 82 located at each end of the holding arm 80. The end of each elastic means 81, 82 is secured to a fastening means Removable removable cover 83, 84, which is preferably a magnet, but which can also be a suction cup. These fixing means 83, 84 are placed on the wall of a load C whose weight exerts a force F5 downwards which corresponds to the action of gravity on the load and which can therefore be considered as being exerted by the weight of it. The elastic means 82 placed at the bottom of the device undergoes an extension force F6 and the elastic means 83 placed higher than the elastic means 82 undergoes a contraction force F7. The charge is then maintained by the device. If the holding arm 80 and moved upwards, for example by means of a cable 85, the load is driven by the holding device according to the invention. On the figure 16 two devices according to the invention are represented, each consisting of a holding arm and at least two elastic means provided at their ends with repositionable removable fixing means. These two devices are placed side by side and form an assembly to maintain and move the load C. Preferably, the two devices have joints 86, 87, and more that allow the device to deform and a better distribution of the charge.

On the figure 18 there is shown a device comprising a plurality of elastic means 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, each provided at their end with a releasable removable fixing means 96, 97, 98, 99, 100.

On the figure 19 it can be seen that the releasable removable fastening means 96, 97, 98, 99 and 100 are aligned. As for the previous embodiments, the resilient means are integral with a holding arm 101 which is driven by a cable 102. When the cable 102 raises the holding arm 101, the spring 91 is extended while the spring 100 farthest from the lowest spring is compressed. Such a device can maintain the load and lead.
