Abstract

The present invention relates to an airflow deflector with an advertising support for the cab of heavy goods vehicles. The deflector of the invention includes a transparent part 5 behind which, at least one support surface 6 has a substantially vertical zone and means 10 for removably retaining on this support surface a poster or similar document.

Description

Air flow deflectors have already been proposed for the cab of heavy vehicles having a master-torque lower than that of the body of the transported load, intended to be fixed on the cabin to divert the air flow and avoid that the latter does not strike the front front surface of the body, and comprising a front part, arranged to cooperate with the roof of the cabin.

The invention aims to use these deflectors as a support for posters or other advertising means, without harming their quality of aerodynamic profile.

The poster, or other advertising document, could certainly be applied directly to the front face of the deflector, or to a support placed in front of it, following its profile fairly faithfully. However, under these conditions, the poster would never be seen fully from the front, which would obviously harm its advertising impact, and above all it would harm the aerodynamic characteristics of the deflector.

The invention aims precisely to allow this front view without harming the qualities of the deflector and it provides, for this purpose, to provide, in the deflector, a transparent part and to provide, linked to the deflector, behind this transparent part, a surface -support having at least one substantially vertical zone and means for removably retaining, on this support surface, a poster or similar document.

With this arrangement, the poster can be given the desired position and inclination to ensure its most favorable advertising impact without the aerodynamic profile of the deflector being changed.

In one embodiment, the ltarfiche is placed directly against the rear face of the transparent part of the deflector, the shape of which is determined as a function of the position desired for the poster, means being provided to hold it in place, so removable, against this face.

In the preferred embodiment, the transparent part of the deflector is constituted by a simple glass whose curvature follows that of the remaining part of the deflector and the poster is placed on one face of a support placed behind this glass but fixed to it by its periphery.

This support can be a simple t81e on which the poster is placed with, for example, interposition of a joint and fixing by clips.

The general shape of this t81e will preferably be determined so as not to cause the creation of parasitic vortices behind the deflector. It could, for example, have the shape of a concave cap with a large radius of curvature.

By way of non-limiting example, the above embodiment shows the embodiment above, in which FIG. 1 is a partial front view of a truck fitted with a deflector according to the invention, and FIG. 2 is a partial side view of the truck in FIG. 1, the deflector being seen in section along the line Il-Il of FIG. 1.

In the example shown, the deflector 1 is mounted on the cab 2 of the truck, in front of the body 3 of the latter.

 I1 consists of a frame 4 in which a fairly thick glass 5 is mounted.

This deflector 1 has a lower torque torque than that of the body 3 in order to eliminate as much as possible the discontinuities of the air flow at the level of the upper part of the cabin 2.

 Behind the glass 5 is mounted a support 6 constituted by an opaque shell-shaped sheet 7, fixed by its periphery to the frame 4 at the periphery of the glass 5.

This shell 7 is shaped as it has a substantially vertical zone, substantially at the level of the central part of the glass 5. It is on this surface zone of the sheet 7 that the poster will be placed behind a glass plate 8 likewise form as the sheet 7. This holding in place is provided by a peripheral seal 9 and clips 10. This mounting is removable and allows easy replacement of the poster.

In this embodiment, the glass 5 inserted in the deflector plays not only the roles of deflector and protective surface, but that of a magnifying glass.

Claims (4)

1 - Air flow deflector, with advertising support, for the cab of heavy vehicles, characterized in that it comprises a transparent part (5) and, linked to the deflector, behind this transparent part, at least one surface- support (6) having at least one substantially vertical zone, and means (lo) for removably retaining on this support surface a poster, or similar document.  2 - Deflector according to claim 1, wherein said support surface is the rear face of said transparent part, the shape of which is determined according to the desired position for the poster. 3 - deflector according to claim 1, wherein the transparent part of the deflector is constituted by a simple glass, the curvature of which follows that of the remaining part of the deflector and the support surface is that of a support (6) placed behind said glass (5) and means are provided for fixing said support to the deflector. 4 - Deflector according to claim 3, wherein said support is a single sheet.  S - Deflector according to claim 4, in which the sheet has the form of a concave cap with a large radius of curvature.
