Abstract

    - A vertical disc (9) rotatably driven and having at least one cutting assembly consisting of a block (15) carrying a plurality of evenly spaced claws (13) that are in contact with a straight cutting counter-blade (14);
    - At the instant of cutting, the claws (13) are vertically located in order to obtain cutting of a plurality of sized pieces of the product in combination with counter-blade (14) due to the action of driving the disc (9) and the thrust exerted on the product;
    characterised in that:
    - Some of the claws (13) protrude beyond counter-blade (14) in order to be able to cooperate, when the device is mounted on the machine, with a wearing part (17) fitted on the end of a part of the machine from which the product is discharged due to the thrust action;
    - The protruding part of claws (13) penetrates into the thickness of wearing part (17) so that cutting counter-blade (14) is tangential to the tip of said part.
  2. A device as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that claws (13) have a cutting edge (13a) sloping at an angle of substantially 45° relative to the surface of the product.
  3. A device as claimed in claim 2, characterised in that the sloping cutting edge (13a) of claws (13) extends as a straight part (13b) oriented in the opposite direction and capable of pressing against cutting edge (14a) of cutting counter-blade (14).
  4. A device as claimed in claim 3, characterised in that the sharp point of claws (13) viewed at the point where cutting edge (13a) and support part (13b) intersect is positioned so that it protrudes beyond the lower end of cutting edge (14a) of cutting counter-blade (14).
  5. A device as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that block (15) that carries claws (13) and cutting counter-blade (14) are each fixed on a mounting that is connected to disc (9) either side of a window (9a) formed in the thickness of said disc in order to allow protrusion of the cutting assembly.
  6. A device as claimed in claim 5, characterised in that the mounting(s) is/are adjustably fitted on disc (9).
