The invention is based on the object to improve a contacting device for the cable shield of an electrical connector of the type described above in such a way that it allows for absolutely secure contacting a simplification of assembly work and a reduction in unit costs.
This object is achieved by a contacting with the features of claim 1. Further advantageous embodiments can be found in the dependent claims.
In the contacting of the electrical connector according to the invention, the inner ring member and the outer ring member the cable shield are arranged across. In the overlap region, the ring elements have spaced lateral surfaces which form between them a receiving space for receiving a length region of the cable shield. The cable shield is folded by 180 ° about an end face of the inner ring element pointing in the direction of the outer ring element and is overlapped at its end by the outer ring element. The inner ring element engages over a first length region of the cable shield on its inner side, which connects directly to the non-stripped part of the cable, and which extends in the region of the inner ring member along the cable. For this purpose, the cable shield is slipped around the cable by 180 ° in the direction of the outer ring element. The inner ring element engages under the cable shield at its end in a second, adjoining the first length region Length range of the cable shield. The receiving space of the contacting device serves to receive the axial length of the inner ring element superior second length range of the cable shield. The inner and outer ring members are rotatable with respect to each other and together form a take-up device that, upon rotation of the outer ring member on the inner ring member, winds the second length portion forming the end of the cable shield into the receiving space. When the end cap is screwed onto the housing, the outer of the two ring elements is displaced axially towards the inner ring element and thereby clamps the cable shield between the two ring elements at the front.
In a further advantageous embodiment, the lateral surface of the outer ring member on the side facing the inner ring member has a plurality of arranged on one or more imaginary circular rings, radially protruding, bending rigid drivers, which extend to the outer surface of the inner ring member. The drivers engage in the assembled state in the cable shield in the stripped area of the cable frictionally. When the outer ring element is rotated, a tangentially acting moment is exerted on the cable shield and winds it up spirally in the receiving space.
In an advantageous development of the invention, the inner ring element has retaining elements for the first length region of the cable shield, which prevent winding of the cable shield in the region between the inner ring element and the cable during winding of the length range of the cable shield to be accommodated in the receiving space. The holding elements can be arranged on an inner circumferential surface or on the outer ring element facing end face of the inner ring member.
In a further advantageous embodiment, the two ring elements are rotatably locked together in the axial direction. To secure the pull, the carriers of the outer ring member are arranged with a arranged on an outer surface of the inner ring member, circumferential bead in engagement. The lock ensures that, as the outer ring element rotates, the overlap area between both ring elements and one of them formed receiving space is retained or the cable shield remains in the receiving space.
In a further advantageous embodiment, the outer ring element on its outer circumferential surface on a radial collar with a front profiling, which is provided for rotationally secure support in the housing. After winding the cable shield is brought by screwing the end cap of the connector, the end profiling of the outer ring member with a complementarily shaped end profiling of the housing in engagement.
Advantageously, the ring elements are formed smooth-walled in the overlapping area apart from the protruding dogs. This allows favorable initial and manufacturing costs for the ring elements.
In an advantageous development of the invention, the inner ring element of the contacting device consists of a shaped metal body and the outer ring element of a molded plastic body. When screwing the end cap of the connector, the inner ring member is pressed against the housing and the cable shield electrically connected via the inner ring member to the connector housing. There are no further contact parts needed for contacting, which makes the installation simple and efficient.
The contacting device according to the invention also has the advantage that it allows an inaccurate stripping of the cable during assembly, in contrast to the prior art, since the ring elements can be moved axially forward by the length of the overlapped area. Thus, the cable and thus also the cable shield can be stripped longer by this length.
