Abstract

The aim of the invention is to produce a meshed flat material, in particular, for privacy protection or for decorative purposes, having a net-like support structure, composed a linear support material (1), in the most cost-effective possible manner. Said aim is achieved, whereby the support material (1) is joined to a filling material (2) which at least partially covers the gaps (4), formed by the net-like support structure. Said flat material may be produced in a particularly simple manner, wherein the support material (1) is firstly joined to the filling material (2), preferably automatically and mechanically, and the net-like support structure is then produced from the joined materials.

Description

Mattenartiges Flächengebilde Mat-like fabrics
The invention relates to a mat-like sheet, in particular for privacy or decorative purposes, with a net-like support structure made of linear support material.
Such flat structures are known, for example, in the form of wire mats or wire fences, in particular wire mesh fences. It is also known, for example from the prospectus of the company Barcana Barthelmeß GmbH & Co. Georgensgmünd, to provide chain-link fences with sheet-like plastic tendrils to be woven into the spaces between the wire fences. This makes the otherwise completely transparent wire fence opaque and gives the appearance of a wall or mat made of natural material. However, the known privacy screen has the disadvantage that the plastic tendrils have to be laboriously woven into the interstices of the wire mesh fence by hand with considerable expenditure of time.
The object of the invention is to provide a mat-like flat structure of the type mentioned at the outset, which can be produced particularly cost-effectively.
The invention solves this problem in that the carrier material is connected to a filler material which at least partially covers the spaces formed by the mesh-like carrier structure.
The fabric according to the invention is thus formed from a carrier material which brings its filling material with it. This eliminates the need for the filler material to be woven into the net-like support structure of the fabric later with a great deal of time and effort. The production costs are thus greatly reduced. The concept of the invention is also manifested in a method for producing a generic sheet-like structure, in which the carrier material is first connected to the filler material and then the mesh-like structure of the sheet-like structure is produced from the carrier material provided with filler material. In contrast to this, in the prior art the network-like structure of the flat structure is first produced and then the filler material is woven in, but this involves a considerable amount of work which drives up the production costs.
In einer bevorzugten Ausführensform besteht das Trägermaterial ausIn a preferred embodiment, the carrier material consists of
Thread or wire. As a rule, these materials are particularly tear-resistant and are therefore particularly suitable as a carrier material. They are also inexpensive to obtain. In addition, wire has a special shape stability, which is important when twisting the wire.
In principle, however, all more or less linear materials, in particular ribbons, can be used as the carrier material.
In a preferred embodiment it is provided that the carrier material consists of twisted threads or wires, between which the filler material is clamped. This is a particularly simple method of connection between the carrier material and the filling material, which is also suitable for machine production.
However, the invention also encompasses all other options for connecting the carrier material to the filler material, in particular also gluing.
In an embodiment of the invention, it is proposed that the filling material be designed in the form of a band with filling elements protruding to the side. The Filling elements protruding laterally advantageously fill the interstices of the net-like support structure, the filler material being able to provide enough surface for covering due to its band shape. This applies in particular to an embodiment in which the carrier material is twisted with the band-shaped filler material, the filler elements projecting into the spaces between the mesh-like carrier structure. By twisting the carrier material is firmly connected to the filling material on the one hand and the filling elements are aligned more or less chaotically on the other hand.
The mat-like sheetlike structure according to the invention obtains a particularly natural impression if the filling material consists of bast or another natural, band-shaped material. A similar effect can also be achieved with the use of straw or 'similar natural materials, however, the available, limited lengths of the material can be somewhat problematic in machine Hersteilung.
However, a preferred embodiment in which the filling material is designed as a film strip made of plastic, preferably PVC, is particularly durable and particularly inexpensive to produce.
Der natürliche Eindruck kann einerseits durch eine grüneIn a further development of the embodiment mentioned, it is provided that the film strip is provided with lateral incisions to form leaf-shaped or needle-shaped filling elements. Such lateral incisions can be made relatively easily by machine and fully automatically, in particular very close to pine needle imitations. The natural impression can be given by a green
Coloring and on the other hand can be improved by twisting with the carrier material. In a particularly inexpensive embodiment of the fabric according to the invention, it is formed from artificial fir garlands. Such fir girandas are produced in large quantities by machine and automatically for the production of artificial Christmas trees. Thus, a manufacturing infrastructure is already in place, so that the manufacture of a flat structure according to the invention can be limited to the procurement of known pine garlands and subsequent linking to a network-like support structure, in particular based on a chain link fence.
In a further embodiment of the invention it is proposed that the filling elements consist of imitated natural products, in particular needles, leaves, flowers and branches. Especially when using the invention as a privacy screen with the function of a fence, the appearance of natural materials thus generated is popular.
In addition to the mat-like sheetlike structure according to the invention and the method for its production, the inventive idea also includes the use of known artificial fir, bast or straw garlands for its production.
Furthermore, the invention includes the use of the above-mentioned mat-like fabric for the production of mats, in particular for decorative purposes, fences, curtains or carpets. Mats for decorative purposes will preferably contain threads as the carrier material and less heavy filling material. In the case of fences, relatively thick wires will be used as the carrier material and relatively opaque and thus heavy filler material and the mats according to the invention will be fastened to posts by means of tensioning wires. In the case of curtains and carpets, preference will be given to the threads as the backing material because of the greater flexibility, but on the other hand a particular one dense filler material may be in demand, which can also be of different colors to achieve special optical effects.
Die Figuren zeigen im Einzelnen:Exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings. The figures show in detail:
Figur 1 : eine netzartige Trägerstruktur aus Draht in Form eines Maschendrahtzaunes;Figure 1: a mesh-like support structure made of wire in the form of a wire mesh fence;
Figur 2: eine netzartige Struktur wie Figur 1 , bei der die Drähte mit. einem Füllmaterial aus seitlich in Form von Tannennadeln geschnittener PVC-Folie verdrillt sind;Figure 2: a network structure like Figure 1, in which the wires with. a filler material made of PVC film cut laterally in the form of pine needles;

Figure 4: a net-like structure made of knotted wires in the form of a knot fence.
In Figure 2 you can see the mesh-like support structure made of wire (1), which is twisted with filler (2) made of PVC film.
During the manufacture, two wires (1) are twisted with a PVC foil strip (2), the foil strip having already been cut in laterally in a web garland machine. The resulting strips of film that protrude laterally mimic real natural pine needles, especially when the film tape is twisted. The laterally protruding "needles" (3) are held together by the continuous film strip in the middle.
Of course you get a particularly natural impression if the PVC film used has a green color that matches the natural color of fir branches as closely as possible.
After the fir garlands have been made, they are bent into a zigzag shape, which they will also take in the finished fabric, and then hooked together by inserting the respective tips of a zigzag garland into the mesh openings of the previous garland and are connected to one another by rotation about the longitudinal axis. In this way, the mat-like sheetlike structure according to the invention is produced, the “needles” (3) largely filling the spaces or stitches (4) between the wires (1).
The flat structure shown in FIG. 2 is not completely opaque because the filler material (2) does not cover the respective central areas of the stitches (4). If, however, a wider PVC film (2) were used, the mesh (4) could be covered completely opaque.
In the present exemplary embodiment, the pine garlands known in connection with the production of artificial Christmas trees were used, which then only have to be bent in a zigzag shape and hooked together to produce the fabric according to the invention.
The known pine garlands can also be used to produce a corresponding mat-shaped sheet with a carrier structure shown in FIG. The wires (1) present in the fir garlands, as shown in FIG. 3, are alternately twisted again and again in certain sections (5), for example a wire arranged essentially horizontally in FIG. 3 alternating with its upper and is then twisted with its lower neighbor, so that a total of hexagonal meshes (6) are formed.
In the support structure of a knot fence shown in FIG. 4, horizontal wires (1) and vertical wires (7) are connected to one another by knots (8), again creating square meshes (9).
