Abstract

The invention relates to a pressure control valve for a fuel injection system provided with an accumulator for an internal combustion engine. Said valve is used for controlling pressure in a fuel accumulator (4) (Common rail). The aim of said invention is to design a simplified pressure control valve (1). For this purpose, the fuel accumulator (4) is embodied in the form of a closed accumulator and the inlet and return pipes are mounted at a such liquid level that no outflow from the fuel accumulator is possible unless the pressure control valve is actuated.

Description

The invention relates to a storage fuel injection system with a closed fuel reservoir and a pressure control valve according to the preamble of claim 1. A storage fuel injection system with a fuel storage and a pressure regulating valve is characterized by the US-B1-6,349,703 known. The pressure control valve, which serves to regulate the pressure in a closed fuel reservoir, has a valve body in which a piston-shaped valve member is disposed axially displaceably in a bore. The valve member forms an armature of an electromagnet which can be energized and by the magnetic force of the valve member is pressed against a valve seat. Rectified to this magnetic force, the valve member is also acted upon by a compression spring.

In the de-energized state of the electromagnet, this pressure spring secures the seal between valve member and valve seat, so that in the storage fuel injection system, a fuel filling is maintained and a restart of this storage fuel injection system having engine is made possible.

An accumulator fuel injection system designed in this way is expensive in its design.

The object of the invention is to simplify the storage fuel injection system without functional disadvantages.

This object is achieved on the basis of a storage fuel injection system according to the generic features of the claim by the characterizing features of the claim. In this embodiment of the storage fuel injection system could be dispensed with the provision of a compression spring in the pressure control valve. This results in the advantage that the storage fuel injection system can be produced more cost-effectively without loss of function. In particular, here is a restart of the engine from the de-energized state, which corresponds to the stoppage of the internal combustion engine allows.

Beschreibung eines AusführungsbeispielsDescription of an embodiment

In Fig. 1 a longitudinal section through a pressure control valve 1 is shown. In addition, a storage fuel storage system for internal combustion engines, in particular self-igniting internal combustion engines shown. The storage fuel injection system, which is also referred to as common-rail injection system, has a high-pressure pump 2 through which fuel is conveyed under high pressure from a fuel storage tank 3 into a fuel storage 4. The fuel storage 4 is for example tubular, designed as a so-called rail. From the fuel reservoir 4 lead lines 5 to the injection points of an internal combustion engine 6, in each of which a valve 7 is arranged. For adjusting the pressure in the fuel reservoir 4, the pressure regulating valve 1 is provided, which can be arranged at the outlet of the high-pressure pump 2 or the fuel reservoir 4.

The pressure control valve 1 itself has a valve 8, in which a bore 9 is formed, in which a piston-shaped valve member 10 is arranged axially displaceable. On the valve body 8, a mounting flange 11 is formed, via which the valve body is attached to the high pressure pump 2 or the fuel reservoir 4. In addition, a further space is provided within the valve body 8, in which an electromagnet 12 is arranged with a coil winding. On the valve body 8, a connection element 13 is provided, which covers the space of the valve body.

Funktionsweisefunctionality

If the solenoid 12 is not energized, the valve member 10 is due to its own weight on the valve seat 16 and the valve seat 16 is acted upon by the pressure in the fuel reservoir 4. Due to the dead weight of the valve member 10 creates a force that is greater than that generated by the fuel tank 4, so that the valve is closed. When the pressure regulating valve 1 is open, fuel flows through the valve seat 16, for example, into a relief space, here a fuel storage tank 3.

When the pressure in the fuel accumulator 4 is to be increased, the electromagnet 12 is energized, so that the valve seat 16 remains closed even at elevated pressure.
