For sale goods in stores are increasingly secured by theft that the packaging of the goods is strapped with plastic straps to prevent the goods can be removed from the packaging and passed unnoticed at the cash register.
A method and a device for securing objects by means of strapping are known, for example, from DE 195 16 043 A1. In a strapping machine described therein, a plastic belt is shot at high speed in a tape guide by means of a belt conveyor, which partially surrounds the object to be secured. As a result, a loop is formed, which lays around the object. The free end of the tape is caught and set by a tape holder. By the belt conveyor, the tape is then withdrawn in the opposite direction. As a result, the loop is drawn around the object, so that it fits tightly against the surface of the same. By means of a tensioning device, the band is tensioned and then closed in the tensioned state by a closing device in a section of overlapping areas of the band.
It is also known to protect goods with the help of electronically detectable security elements against theft, which are usually mounted on the package or directly to the object to be secured. Such fuse elements contain electrical, electronic and / or magnetic means for transmitting an electronically detectable signal. The fuse element is made by appropriate Detection means excited by generated by these alternating magnetic fields for emitting a characteristic signal. This characteristic signal is then captured by the detection devices, thereby triggering an alarm in them.
From EP 0 446 910 A1, for example, a security label is known which consists of an electronically detectable, deactivatable securing element and a self-adhesive covering layer covering this. The deactivatable fuse element consists of a soft magnetic strip element, which can be excited to emit the characteristic signal and on which rectangular elements of hard magnetic material are applied. The hard magnetic material can be driven by a strong magnetic field into saturation and prevent the magnetization by the reaction of the soft magnetic material, so that the fuse element can be deactivated when properly paid for the goods. This securing element is glued on a peel strip for storage and transport purposes. If the peel strip is removed, the fuse element with the then exposed adhesive layer can be glued to an object to be secured. However, such a security tag has the disadvantage that it can be detached relatively easily from the object to be secured or from its packaging.
The object of the invention is to provide a method and a device of the type mentioned, which allow an effective backup of the objects to be secured in an economical manner.
The object is achieved on the basis of a method of the aforementioned type according to the invention in that at least one electronically detectable securing element is supplied to the strap so that the securing element is enclosed between the overlapping areas.
This procedure according to the invention ensures that the securing element can no longer be removed from the secured object in a simple manner. The securing element according to the invention is enclosed between overlapping regions of the strapping means, so that the entire strapping would have to be removed in order to remove the securing element as well. A glued on the packaging of the goods fuse element would be just as easy to remove as a fastened on the strap fuse element. The strapping is, however, in a section overlapping areas that in this section are interconnected, invisible and tightly closed, so that an invention included in this section of the strapping fuse element can not be removed. The joining of the overlapping regions can take place for example by welding, so that a very strong connection is formed. In addition, the strapping of the object to be secured can be combined with the attachment of a security element for the electronic article surveillance in one step, so that it is a total of a very fast and cost-effective method for article surveillance.
The fuse elements may be, for example, electromagnetic (EM), acoustomagnetic (AM), radio frequency (RF) or radio frequency identification (RF-ID) elements. It can therefore be used according to the invention different types of fuse elements, with flat configured fuse elements such as strip-shaped fuse elements or thin film elements are preferred. These can be designed to be deactivated, so that deactivation at the cash register is possible with proper payment of the goods. The use of strip or thin-film elements has the additional advantage that there is only a small layer thickness, so that they can be easily integrated into the strapping.
If EM or electromagnetic elements are used as the fuse elements, the EM material may be co-extruder material, with a strip element ("simple strip") being a deactivatable element or only active material inside a plastic casing. The plastic sheath consists of commercially available, co-extrudable plastics, which can be fused with a plastic tape, from which the strapping may consist.
In an advantageous embodiment of the method according to the invention it is provided that the securing element is supplied to the strap before strapping and applied to one of the overlapping areas. The securing elements can therefore already be fastened to the strap when this is provided for the strapping process. In this case, the securing elements must be applied at a predetermined distance at appropriate locations on the strap, so that they are each arranged between the overlapping areas of the strap when they are connected together.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the method according to the invention it is provided that the securing element to the strap during strapping fed and positioned between the overlapping areas. As a result, the feeding of the securing elements with the strapping process is combined directly, so that the complete backup of the object takes place in one operation, thus creating an extremely economical process.
It is preferably provided that at least one loop of a weldable, band-shaped strapping material is arranged around the object, wherein the overlapping regions of the band-shaped strapping material form a weld zone, and a fuse element encased at least partially by a meltable material between the overlapping regions of the band-shaped strapping material is guided in the welding zone and then the strapping material and the sheathed securing element are welded together in the welding zone and the loop is thereby closed. By welding the fuse element with the strapping material creates a very strong connection, so that removal of the fuse element is virtually impossible. The welding can be done by friction welding or ultrasonic welding.
In an advantageous embodiment of the method according to the invention it is further provided that the strap is fed by means of a conveyor of a tape guide, which at least partially surrounds the article, and is guided therethrough and / or that withdrawn the strap from a supply roll and the loop before or after the Join is separated from the remaining strapping material.
The securing elements can be withdrawn from a supply roll, on which they are wound up as endless strips, and fed to the strapping means. In this case, a single fuse element is separated from the endless strip before or after encasing in the strap.
Alternatively, the securing elements may be present as cut strip elements and fed individually to the strap.
If the object to be secured is strapped with two strapping means and at least two securing elements are fastened to the object at an angle of 90 ° to one another, then the detection rate of the antennas of the detection device at the outlet of the sales room can be increased, so that the effectiveness of the method according to the invention continues can be increased.
The object is achieved on the basis of a device of the type mentioned in the present invention that it has a device for applying at least one electronically detectable fuse element on the strap before closing, wherein the at least one electronically detectable fuse element in the closing of the overlapping areas by means the closing means is enclosed between the overlapping areas of the strapping means. By this application device, the function of a conventional strapping machine can be further developed so advantageous that a combination of the supply of securing elements with the strapping process, i. an attachment of mechanical and electronic security devices, within a device is possible.
In this case, the application device can have a dispensing device with which a securing element to be integrated into the strap can be applied to one of the overlapping regions. By means of such a dispensing device, for example a simple dispensing edge, the securing elements can be applied to the strap before it is fed to the strapping process, i. is shot into the tape guide of the strapping machine. The device according to the invention must be controlled in this case by means of a control unit such that the securing elements are applied at a predetermined distance at appropriate locations on the strap so that they are each arranged between the overlapping areas of the strap when they are connected together.
Alternatively, the application device can have a positioning device with which a securing element to be integrated into the strap can be positioned between the overlapping regions. This positioning device is arranged and adjustable such that a securing element is inserted between the upper and lower layers thereof just prior to joining the two overlapping regions of the strapping so that the securing element is trapped during and after joining between the two overlapping regions of the strapping is.
Preferably, the device according to the invention has a conveyor, by means of which a band guide a weldable, band-shaped strapping material can be supplied as a strapping. The tape guide is arranged so as to at least partially surround the object so that the strap forms a loop around the object to be secured.
The security elements can be arranged individually and cut in a storage magazine or wound up as a continuous strip on a supply roll. In both cases, they can be fed to the applicator quickly and at short intervals.
It can be provided in an advantageous embodiment of the device according to the invention also a retraction device for receiving the securing elements, which feeds the securing elements of the application device.
If a separating device, preferably a cutting unit, is provided which cuts the securing elements to a length corresponding to the length of the overlapping regions, then the securing elements are of a size in which they can be completely enclosed by the overlapping regions.
The closing device can be for example a friction welding device or an ultrasonic welding device. If, in these cases, the securing element is at least partially encased by a meltable material, then the strapping material can be welded to the securing element, so that a very strong connection is formed and the securing element can not be removed practically.
The securing elements are preferably strip-shaped and / or arranged on a carrier tape. The fuse elements may be, for example, electromagnetic (EM), acoustomagnetic (AM), radio frequency (RF) or radio frequency identification (RF-ID) elements.
If the application device comprises at least one deflection roller and a dispensing edge, then the securing elements can be reliably and quickly applied or supplied.
A particularly effective and low-interference operation of the device according to the invention is ensured when the strap is wound as a tape supply on a supply roll and a separator is provided which separates the strap after its overlapping areas have been joined together from the strip supply.

Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of a device 1 according to the invention for securing an
In an alternative embodiment of the present invention, however, the securing
In a particular embodiment of the invention, the securing
In all cases described above, a strip-shaped securing element may consist of co-extruded EM material which is provided from a separate supply roll in each case in a specific amount in the longitudinal direction of the strap. The EM material can also be supplied in any direction. In any case, the EM material is introduced between the upper and lower layers of the strap, preferably a plastic strap. A welding head, for example an ultrasonic head, fuses the strap and the EM material.
Fig. 6 shows an
Inside a plastic casing is either a single element ("Simple Strip", as known from EP 0 921 942 B1) as deactivatable element or only the active material. The plastic coating consists of commercially available, co-extrudable plastics and can have any desired color or shape.
The EM material can either be provided by a supply roll and cut after insertion into the weld zone to appropriate length, or the already cut to length fuse elements are individually the Welding head supplied. For this purpose, conventional strapping machines for this process can be modified accordingly.
