- Foam can be obtained in two ways. Two components which foam and polymerize at the outlet of the nozzle can be mixed in a dispensing nozzle. Such foaming products are supplied for example by the company Wacker. It is also possible to mix a product known for its seal qualities, such as a silicone, with a gas such as nitrogen in a suitable mixer, for example a mixer of the Nordson or Dopag brand, and distribute it on one of the parts to join. The polymerization is obtained more quickly by subsequent heating.

- the water spray tank 4 has an upper part 41 and a lower multi-function part 8, made of polyester resistant to heat and humidity, forming the bottom of the tank 4.
- the two parts 41, 8 are assembled by a seal 42 of silicone foam deposited in grooves at the top of the part 8.
- the multi-function part 8 constitutes, at the same time as the bottom of the tank 4, the upper wall of the chamber 3 for vaporizing the water and distributing the vapor towards outlet holes 23.
- Other ribs 82, 83 arranged in a similar manner ensure the isolation of the thermostat from the steam as well as the baffles necessary for the steam circuit.
- Grooves are provided at the bottom of the ribs 81, 82, 83 facing the sole 2 and retain seals such as 84 made of silicone foam, adhering to the part 8. Fixings not shown tighten the parts 41, 8, and the sole 2 against each other by compressing all the joints, which ensures sealing between the parts.
- the multi-function part 8 also constitutes the skirt 85 visible between the body 5 and the sole 2 of the iron.
- this design allows a very simple construction of the iron, without a conduit between the tank and the vaporization chamber, and with a soleplate having only a few internal reliefs.
- the construction is economical, thanks to the multiple functions of part 8 which encloses the vaporization chamber.

- the steam produced is contained and directed towards the steam holes 23 by the part 8 similar to that of the first version.
- the thermostat can be an electronic thermostat as in the third version represented in FIGS. 3 and 4.
- the part 8 supports the thermostat sensor 71 by means of a spring 72 which keeps it in pressure against the soleplate 2, in order to '' ensure good thermal contact.
- Figures 5 and 6 show a fourth neighboring version, in which the part 8 has walls 86 acting simultaneously as a wall for the vaporization chamber 3 and a wall for the skirt of the iron. This arrangement saves the material of the part 8 and allows a very economical production of iron.
