Definitions
- blowers also known as side channel blowers, are used, around in vehicle heaters, such as auxiliary heaters or heaters be used, the required combustion air in the range of To promote combustion chamber.
- the rotation of the conveyor wheel is between built up a pressure in the inlet area and the outlet area.
- in the Outlet area shows the medium to be pumped, so for example the air, then increased pressure and occurs there to the with the medium supplying the system area.
- each other following conveyor blades limited volumes under increased pressure standing medium to be conveyed in the above the interruption area promote the lying section.
- blowers in use as combustion air blower are those or the conveyor wheels of the same often by the same drive motor to be driven for rotation, such as an associated Conveyor wheel of a hot air blower. Both conveyor wheels turn so basically with the same speed, so that due to the design the two blower itself, so the combustion air blower and the Schuzzigebläses, and further due to the speed both the amount of combustion air to be fed into a combustion chamber as also set the amount of promoted by a heat exchanger heating air are.
- One of the speed and thus independent of each other adjustability the two blowers is not given. So here for example a reduction in heating power through appropriate adaptation the combustion air flow would be required, this would also be the by affect the heat exchanger guided heating air flow.
- a fan in particular Combustion air blower for a vehicle heater, to provide in which with improved adjustability of the flow through the interruption area generated problems are significantly reduced.
- a blower in particular combustion air blower for a A vehicle heater
- a blower housing one in the blower housing trained to ring around a rotation axis and on one axial side of the blower housing open conveyor channel, a delivery wheel, which on the fan housing the delivery channel overlapping and rotatably supported about the rotation axis and a plurality having circumferentially successive conveyor blades, which on rotation of the feed wheel in a direction of movement over move the delivery channel, an entrance area to the entrance of promoting medium, z.
- an exit area to the exit of conveyed along the conveyor channel medium from the Delivery channel, in the direction of movement of the conveying blades on the exit area following and the entrance area in front of an interruption area, in which the delivery channel is interrupted in the circumferential direction is, as well as a connection channel arrangement, which over the interruption area away a connection between the exit area and the inlet area.
- connection channel arrangement becomes a direct Fluidic connection between the exit area and the Entry area created.
- connection channel arrangement further leads to a Flow connection between the outlet region and the inlet region, of course, a reduction in the delivery result Has.
- the at non-existing connection channel arrangement from the exit area would be discharged, enters the inlet area, so that at the same Speed will leak a smaller flow at the exit area.
- This in turn has the consequence that by adjusting the geometry, for example, the cross section, the connecting channel arrangement can be specified, how big the "leakage" between the exit area and entry area is, allowing for adaptation to the desired Operating conditions, for example, a predetermined operating speed for the conveyor wheel, by selecting the geometry or the flow conditions the connection channel arrangement also defines the delivery rate can be. So finally has the connection channel arrangement the effect of, for example, the entrance area or the exit area upstream throttle, which reduces the delivery rate by itself.
- a particularly efficient reduction of noise and turbulence can be provided by the interruption area a lying in the region of the axial side of the blower housing, the feed wheel facing the breaker top and that the connection channel arrangement in the interruption area near the breaker top is formed extending.
- the breaker top or the this providing component can thus be flowed around on two sides, namely once in the area of the connection channel arrangement and once in the Range of volumes trapped between the blades. This not only reduces the expansion bumps, but also those at the end areas of the interruption area resulting turbulence.
- the interruption area a the breaker top providing and the connection channel arrangement Covering cover plate includes.
- the interruption area in the field of axial side of the fan housing facing the conveyor wheel facing Breaker top has and that the connection channel arrangement at the breaker top at least one open to the conveyor wheel Has depression, in which case preferably at the breaker top a plurality of depressions forms a groove-like structure.
- a Such depression structure which is practically over the entire interruption area extends, also provides a link between the exit area and the entrance area and can, for example Can be easily made by machining, without that additional components would have to be used.
- a blower in particular combustion air blower for a vehicle heater
- a blower housing one formed in the fan housing, about an axis of rotation annularly extending and on an axial side of the fan housing open conveyor channel
- a delivery wheel which on the fan housing covering the conveyor channel and rotatably supported about the axis of rotation is and a plurality of circumferentially consecutive Conveying blades which, upon rotation of the impeller in a Move the direction of movement above the conveyor channel, an entrance area for the entry of medium to be conveyed into the delivery channel, an exit region to the exit of conveyed along the conveyor channel medium the conveying channel, as well as in the direction of movement of the conveyor blades following the exit area and the entry area one ahead Interruption area in which the delivery channel is interrupted in the circumferential direction is, wherein the interruption area one in the axial Side of the blower housing lying facing the conveyor wheel Breaker has top and on the breaker top at least one towards constructiverad
- the at least one Depression in turn, a flow connection between the exit area and the inlet area, can again a defined leakage be produced in a simple manner, the adjustability of the Delivery at a given speed or predetermined operating point such a blower allowed.
- Also in this variant of the invention may preferably be provided be that at the breaker top a plurality of Depressions forming a groove-like structure.
- FIGS. 1-3 show a first embodiment of a device according to the invention Blower 10.
- This blower 10 includes a blower housing 12 which one about a rotation axis A ring-like extending and at one axial side 14 of the blower housing 12 has open conveying channel 16.
- This conveyor channel 16 has, as shown in Fig. 1, in cross section a semicircular geometry.
- the feed wheel 18 carries in its conveying channel 16 covering Area a plurality of conveying blades 20, which in the circumferential direction are arranged successively about the axis of rotation A and in a region 22 of the feed wheel 18 are worn, as well as the Delivery channel 16 basically a semicircular cross-sectional geometry having.
- the feed wheel 18 is connected by a drive motor, not shown, For example, electric motor, for rotation about the rotation axis A drivable, so that the conveying blades 20, as indicated in Fig. 3, in a direction of movement B sweep the conveyor channel 14.
- inlet region 24 is through an inlet opening 26 to promoting medium, so for example air, introduced into the delivery channel 16 or sucked in.
- medium to be conveyed is then transported along the Delivery channel 16 moves and can in an exit region 28 via a Outlet opening 30 then the conveyor channel 16 under increased pressure leave.
- an interruption region 32 Between the inlet region 24 and the outlet region 28 is an interruption region 32. This interrupts the otherwise ring-like Delivery channel 16 and ensures that the funded in the exit region 28 and now under increased pressure substantially air There also emerges from the delivery channel 16. Nevertheless, between the in Circumferential direction successive conveyor blades 20 in the feed wheel 18 volumes of V formed when passing over the interruption area 22 are included first. Achieve these volumes V at the Movement of the feed wheel 18, the inlet end 34 of the interruption area 32, the pressurized air may be in the direction of relax towards the entrance area 34.
- connection channel assembly 38 To the induced by this relaxation relaxation shocks and also the turbulence at the inlet end portion 34 and also at the exit side End region 36 generated turbulence and that too mitigate accompanying noise is in the inventive Blower 10 is a connection channel assembly, generally designated 38 intended.
- the connection channel arrangement 38 can be, for example generated by the interruption area 32 is basically divided into two parts or regions 40, 42.
- the area 40 forms the lower part of the interruption area 32 and thus closes the substantial cross-sectional area of the conveying channel 14 between the Entry area 24 and the exit area 28 from.
- the upper part 42 can be provided by a cover plate having a breaker top 44th forms, which in turn can be flush with the axial side 14th of the blower housing 12.
- This cover plate 44 can by several Stem portions 46 may be supported relative to the region 40.
- the axial Gap between the two areas or parts 40, 42 forms then the connection channel arrangement 38 through which the conveyed medium or a part thereof after reaching the exit area in a low Distance from the breaker top 44 can pass.
- This part of the conveyed medium moves in parallel with it substantially the part of the pumped medium that reaches the exit area 28 is located in a respective volume V.
- Upon reaching the the entrance-side end 34 of the interruption area 32 takes place, so to speak a mixing of these two parts of the pumped medium instead.
- the geometry or the cross section of the connecting channel arrangement 38 can be chosen so that even taking into account the desired Efficiency of the blower 10 the occurrence of turbulence and relaxation shocks can be prevented as much as possible.
- the flow cross-section of the connecting channel arrangement from the end 36 toward the end 34 so that a flow acceleration can be achieved and thus ideally the velocity of the effluent from the connecting channel assembly 38 Medium corresponds to the speed, with which moves the medium enclosed in the volumes V.
- the effect of the connecting channel arrangement 38 can thereby be optimized that this comparatively close to the breaker top 44 lies. That is, in any case, it should be ensured that this connection channel assembly 38 closer to the breaker top as at the bottom area, so the furthest removed from the axial side 14 lying region of the conveying channel 14, is located.
- This can be as above already shown, by the provision of a plate-like part or area 42 can be easily realized.
- the ratio of axial height b of the connecting channel arrangement 38 to the axial thickness a of the Range 42 can be chosen so that the desired flow conditions be achieved.
- the size is a Range of less than 3 mm, preferably less than 1 mm, is advantageously the size b can be in the range of about 2 mm.
- FIG. 4 An alternative embodiment of the blower 10 according to the invention shown in Fig. 4.
- the basic structure of the blower 10 corresponds to the previously described.
- the Interrupt area 32 is designed so that at the breaker top 44, which the conveying wheel 18 with a small axial distance is opposite, a plurality of open towards the feed wheel 18 groove-like Depressions 46 is formed.
- the connection channel assembly 38 which provides a flow connection between the exit area 28 and the entry area 24 of the conveying channel 16 forms.
- This embodiment variant has the Advantage on that it is relatively easy to produce.
- the groove-like Depressions 46 for example, by milling or the like.
- any course between the Outlet area and the inlet area, as well as with any Cross-sectional geometry are provided.
- a groove or rib-like structuring are created by just several such depressions 46 run next to each other, so that in principle almost the entire breaker top 44 can be used.
- the fan shown in Fig. 4 can also be constructed so that these depressions 46 are not completely from the exit area to the entry area are configured continuously on the breaker top 44. Rather, the circumferential beginning of this depression could be Depressions 46 at a distance to the exit region 28 or to the end region 36 of the interruption area 32 are located. Extend from this initial area These depressions 46 then toward the inlet area 24 and the end 34 of the interruption area 32 and are there for Entry area 24 open.
- FIG. 5 shows a modification of the previously described embodiment. It can be seen here the fan housing 12 in a perspective view, viewed from the axial side 14 forth, which is otherwise covered by the conveyor wheel, not shown.
- a single recess 46 extending completely in the circumferential direction is now provided.
- This depression 46 thus establishes a direct connection between the outlet region 28 and the inlet region 24.
- the recess 64 since it is open to the axial side 14, in the manufacture of the blower housing 12 by machining, ie, for example, milling or the like, are prepared with. Even with such a single, but in cross-section larger sized depression 46, the effects described above can be achieved.
- the cross-sectional dimension of such a depression 46 may, for example, be chosen so that it has a depth of 2 mm and a width of about 5 mm, so that a total cross-sectional area in the range of 10 mm 2 to 12 mm 2 can be achieved.
- the dimensioning of Depression 46 or a connection between the outlet region 28 and Entry region 24 producing channel essentially from the application area depend.
- the flow cross-sectional area is influenced of the channel essentially the leakage between the exit region 28 and the inlet region 24, so that at predetermined operating point, that is, for example, predetermined speed, without affecting further system areas of such a blower have, in a very simple manner, the delivery rate adjustable is.
