Abstract

Beschrieben wird ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Monoalkylhydroxycarbonsäureestern, wobei einer Mischung aus Alkoholen der allgemeinen Formeln (I) R1-OH und (II) R2-(C2H4)n-OH, in denen R1 und R2 unabhängig voneinander, für einen gesättigten oder ungesättigten, verzweigten oder unverzweigten Alkylrest mit 6 bis 22 C-Atomen und n für eine Zahl zwischen 1 und 20 steht, bei Temperaturen von 120 bis 180 °C umgesetzt und dabei die Verbindungen der Formeln (I) und (II) im Gewichtsverhältnis 10:1 bis 1:10 eingesetzt werden.

Description

Verfahren zur Herstellung von Hydroxycarbonsäureestern
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von ausgewählten Hydroxycarbonsäureestern sowie Mischungen von Hydroxycarbonsäureestern und deren Verwendung in kosmetischen Zusammensetzungen.
Hydroxycarbonsäureester sind seit langem bekannte Verbindungen. Insbesondere die Mono- alkylhydroxycarbonsäureester werden seit langem in kosmetischen Mitteln eingesetzt. So beschreibt z. B. die EP 282289 AI eine kosmetische Zusammensetzung, die Monoalkylzitro- nensäuresalze enthält. Neben den reinen Alkylverbindungen werden auch Alkyloxidverbin- dungen der Zitronensäure in dieser Schrift offenbart.
Die WO 94/10970 beschreibt einen Lösungsvermittler, der Monoalkylcitrate mit Alkylgrup- pen, die 7 bis 10 C- Atome enthalten, als Inhaltsstoff in Parfüms, kosmetischen Zusammensetzungen, wie Reinigungs- und Pflegemittel für Körper und Textilien. Aus der DE 199 45 478 AI sind kosmetische und/oder pharmazeutische Zubereitungen bekannt, die neben Alkyl- und oder Alkyloligoglycosiden Hydroxycarbonsäurepartialester oder deren Salze enthalten.
Bei den aus dem Stand der Technik bekannten Produkten zeigten sich allerdings diverse Nachteile. So sind die aus dem Stand der Technik bekannten Alkylcitrate häufig nicht mit Aniontensiden zusammen klar formulierbar und auch bei der Kombination mit bestimmten nichtionischen Tensiden, wie Alkylpolyglycosiden, kann es zu Nachteilen bei der Formulierung kommen. Des weiteren liegen die reinen Alkylzitrate als bei Raumtemperatur hoch schmelzende Pasten vor. Es war daher die Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung, die Nachteile der aus dem Stand der Technik bekannten Alkylzitrate und Hydroxycarbonsäureester zu verbessern. Es wurde gefunden, dass durch Auswahl der Alkoholkomponente Alkylcitrate erhalten lassen, welche die oben aufgezeigten Nachteile nicht aufweisen.
Ein erster Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Hydroxycarbonsäureestern, indem man Hydroxycarbonsäuren oder deren Salze mit einer Mischung aus Alkoholen der allgemeinen Formeln (I) R!-OH und (II) R2-(C2H )n-OH, wobei R1 und R2 unabhängig voneinander, für einen gesättigten oder ungesättigten, verzweigten oder unverzweigten Alkylrest mit 6 bis 22 C-Atomen und n für eine Zahl zwischen 1 und 20 steht, bei Temperaturen von 120 bis 180 °C umsetzt, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Verbindungen der Formeln (I) und (II) im Gewichtsverhältnis 10 : 1 bis 1 : 10 eingesetzt werden. Die so erhaltenen Verbindungen, welche Mischungen verschiedener isomerer Ester darstellen, sind ebenfalls Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung.
Das vorliegende erfindungsgemäße Verfahren betrifft prinzipiell alle Hydroxycarbonsäuren, wobei besonders bevorzugte Hydroxycarbonsäuren ausgewählt sind aus der Gruppe, die gebildet wird von Milchsäure, Weinsäure, Apfelsäure und Zitronensäure sowie deren Eigenkon- densationsprodukten. Besonders bevorzugt im Sinne der vorliegenden Erfindung ist die Citronensäure.
Bei den Partialestern der Hydroxycarbonsäuren im Sinne der vorliegenden Erfindung handelt es sich um Tenside, die vorzugsweise noch eine freie Carboxylgruppe enthalten. Dementsprechend kann es sich auch um saure Ester oder deren Neutralisationsprodukte handeln. Vorzugsweise liegen die Partialester dann in Form von Alkali-, Erdalkali-, Ammonium-, Alky- lammonium-, Alkanolammonium- und/oder Glucammoniumsalze vor. Die Ester selbst leiten sich bevorzugt von Fettalkoholen der Formel (I) ab, die in Abmischung mit ethoxylierten Fettalkoholen der allgemeinen Formel (II) eingesetzt werden. Erfindungswesentlich ist es dabei, dass das Gewichtsverhältnis zwischen den Alkoholen der Formel (I) und den ethoxylierten Alkoholen der Formel (II) im Bereich von 10 : 1 bis 1 : 10 ausgewählt wird. Als besonders bevorzugt hat es sich erwiesen, die Alkohole der Formel (I) und (II) im Gewichtsverhältnis von 10 : 1 bis 1 : 1 und insbesondere von 9 : 1 bis 1 : 1, vorzugsweise 4 : 1 bis 1 : 1 und dabei insbesondere von 1 : 1 einzusetzen.
Die Ester gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung sind Polyester, da mehrere Carboxylfunktionen verestert sein können. Typischerweise liegen herstellungsbedingt, Gemische der Ester vor, wobei etwa 25 bis 30 % Monoester, 30 bis 40 % Diester und 5 bis 15 % Triester vorliegen können. Der Rest bis 100 % liegt als freie Hydroxycarbonsäure vor.
Ein weiterer Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung betrifft daher Mischungen von isomeren Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel (III)
H2C-COOR' HC-COOR" (III) H2C-COOR,M in der R', R", R'" für ein Wasserstoffatom, und/oder einen Alkylrest mit 6 bis 22 C-Atomen und/oder einen ethoxylierten Alkylrest mit 6 bis 22 C-Atomen steht, wobei in den ethoxylierten Alkylresten jeweils zwischen 2 und 20 Teile Ethylenoxid pro Alkylrest enthalten sind, mit den Maßgaben, daß mindestens einer der Reste R', R' bzw. R'" einen solchen ethoxylierten Alkylrest darstellt und die Gesamtzahl an Ethylenoxideinheiten pro Estermolekül auf 20 begrenzt ist. Die Mischungen enthalten Mono- Di- und Triester nebeneinander, wobei Mono- und Diester bevorzugt im Verhältnis von 1 : 1 bis 1 : 2 nebeneinander vorliegen. Der Anteil an freier Citronensäure kann bei bis zu 20 %, bezogen auf die Mischungen, liegen. Vorzugsweise enthalten die Mishcungen aber weniger freie Citronensäure, wobei weniger als 10 % bevorzugt sind.
Das Herstellverfahren als solches entspricht dem Stand der Technik, wobei es wesentlich sein kann, dass die Reaktion in einer Stickstoffatmosphäre stattfindet. Weiterhin kann es vorteilhaft sein, die Temperaturen bei der Reaktion im Bereich von 150 bis 170 und vorzugsweise von 160° C einzustellen. Als Endprodukt werden die erfindungsgemäßen Monoalkylester der Hydroxycarbonsäuren erhalten, die beispielsweise durch Destillation aus dem Ansatz entfernt werden können. Die Ester können frei oder als Salze vorliegen. Verfahrensbedingt resultiert auch immer ein geringer Anteil an unveresterer Hydroxycarbonsäure, vorzugsweise maximal 20 Gew.-% und insbesondere maximal 10 Gew.-%. Besonders bevorzugt sind solche Reaktionsprodukte, die maximal 8 und insbesondere maximal 5 % unveresterter Citronensäure enthalten.
Die Säurezahl (DIN 51963) der erfindungsgemäß erhaltenen Produkte liegt vorzugsweise bei 200 bis 300, die OH-Zahl liegt vorzugsweise im Bereich von 180 bis 250, die Esterzahl bevorzugt bei 100 bis 160 und die Verseifungszahl vorzugsweise im Bereich von 380 bis 500.(Alle Messungen nach DIN).
Die erfindungsgemäß herstellten Hydroxycarbonsäureester und vorzugsweise die Ester der Zitronensäure können vorteilhafterweise mit anionischen und/oder nichtionischen Tensiden zu wässrigen Lösungen formuliert werden.
Als besonders bevorzugte nichtionische Tenside seien u.a. die Fettalkohole, die Alkoholetho- xylate und die Alkylpolyglycoside genannt. Als besonders geeignete Aniontenside sei auf die Alkylethersulfate verwiesen, ohne dass damit eine Einschränkung in Bezug auf die Auswahl der anionischen Tenside vorgenommen werden sollte. Fettalkohole
Unter Fettalkoholen, die auch bei der Synthese der erfindungsgemäßen Hydroxycarbonsäuren eingesetzt werden, sind primäre aliphatische Alkohole der Formel (I) zu verstehen,

in der R1 für einen aliphatischen, linearen oder verzweigten Kohlenwasserstoffrest mit 6 bis 22 Kohlenstoffatomen und 0 und/oder 1, 2 oder 3 Doppelbindungen steht. Typische Beispiele sind Capronalkohol, Caprylalkohol, 2-Ethylhexylalkohol, Caprinalkohol, Laurylalkohol, I- sotridecylalkohol, Myristylalkohol, Cetylalkohol, Palmoleylalkohol, Stearylalkohol, Isostea- rylalkohol, Oleylalkohol, Elaidylalkohol, Petroselinylalkohol, Linolylalkohol, Linolenylalko- hol, Elaeostearylalkohol, Arachylalkohol, Gadoleylalkohol, Behenylalkohol, Erucylalkohol und Brassidylalkohol sowie deren technische Mischungen, die z.B. bei der Hochdruckhydrierung von technischen Methylestern auf Basis von Fetten und Ölen oder Aldehyden aus der Roelen'schen Oxosynthese sowie als Monomerfraktion bei der Dimerisierung von ungesättigten Fettalkoholen anfallen. Bevorzugt sind technische Fettalkohole mit 12 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen, wie beispielsweise Kokos-, Palm-, Palmkern- oder Taigfettalkohol.
Alkoholethoxylate
Alkoholethoxylate werden herstellungsbedingt als Fettalkohol- oder Oxoalkoholethoxylate bezeichnet und folgen vorzugsweise der Formel (II),
R2O(CH2CH2O)nH (II)
in der R2 für einen linearen oder verzweigten Alkyl- und/oder Alkenylrest mit 6 bis 22 Kohlenstoffatomen und n für Zahlen von 1 bis 50 steht. Verbindungen der Formel (II) mit einem Ethoxylierungsgrad von 1 bis 20 werden zur Synthese im erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren zur Herstellung von Hydroxycarbonsäureestern eingesetzt. Typische Beispiele sind die Addukte von durchschnittlich 1 bis 20, vorzugsweise 1 bis 10 und insbesondere 1 bis 5 Mol Ethylen- oxid an Capronalkohol, Caprylalkohol, 2-Ethylhexylalkohol, Caprinalkohol, Laurylalkohol, Isotridecylalkohol, Myristylalkohol, Cetylalkohol, Palmoleylalkohol, Stearylalkohol, Isostea- rylalkohol, Oleylalkohol, Elaidylalkohol, Petroselinylalkohol, Arachylalkohol, Gadoleylalkohol, Behenylalkohol, Erucylalkohol und Brassidylalkohol sowie deren technische Mischungen, die z.B. bei der Hochdruckhydrierung von technischen Methylestern auf Basis von Fetten und Ölen oder Aldehyden aus der Roelen'schen Oxosynthese sowie als Monomer- fraktion bei der Dimerisierung von ungesättigten Fettalkoholen anfallen. Bevorzugt sind Ad- dukte von 1 bis 10 Mol Ethylenoxid an technische Fettalkohole mit 12 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen, wie beispielsweise Kokos-, Palm-, Palmkern- oder Taigfettalkohol.
Alkyl- und/oder Alkenyloligoglykoside
Alkyl- und Alkenyloligoglykoside stellen bekannte nichtionische Tenside dar, die der Formel
(IV) folgen,
R3O-[G]p (IV)
in der R3 für einen Alkyl- und/oder Alkenylrest mit 4 bis 22 Kohlenstoffatomen, G für einen Zuckerrest mit 5 oder 6 Kohlenstoffatomen und p für Zahlen von 1 bis 10 steht. Sie können nach den einschlä-gigen Verfahren der präparativen organischen Chemie erhalten werden. Die Alkyl- und/oder Alkenyloligoglykoside können sich von Aldosen bzw. Ketosen mit 5 oder 6 Kohlen-stoffatomen, vorzugsweise der Glucose ableiten. Die bevorzugten Alkyl- und/oder Alkenyloligoglykoside sind somit Alkyl- und/oder Alkenyloligoglucoside. Die Indexzahl p in der allgemeinen Formel (IV) gibt den Oligomerisierungsgrad (DP), d. h. die Verteilung von Mono- und Oligoglykosiden an und steht für eine Zahl zwischen 1 und 10. Während p in einer gegebenen Verbindung stets ganzzahlig sein muß und hier vor allem die Werte p = 1 bis 6 annehmen kann, ist der Wert p für ein bestimmtes Alkyloligoglykosid eine analytisch ermittelte rechnerische Größe, die meistens eine gebrochene Zahl darstellt. Vorzugsweise werden Alkyl- und/oder Alkenyloligoglykoside mit einem mittleren Oligomerisierungsgrad p von 1,1 bis 3,0 eingesetzt. Aus anwendungstechnischer Sicht sind solche Alkyl- und/oder Alkenyloligoglykoside bevorzugt, deren Oligomerisierungsgrad kleiner als 1,7 ist und insbesondere zwischen 1,2 und 1,4 liegt. Der Alkyl- bzw. Alkenylrest R3 kann sich von primären Alkoholen mit 4 bis 11, vorzugsweise 8 bis 10 Kohlenstoffatomen ableiten. Typische Beispiele sind Bu- tanol, Capronalkohol, Caprylalkohol, Caprinalkohol und Undecylalkohol sowie deren technische Mischungen, wie sie beispielsweise bei der Hydrierung von technischen Fettsäuremethylestern oder im Verlauf der Hydrierung von Aldehyden aus der Roelen'schen Oxosynthese erhalten werden. Bevorzugt sind Alkyloligo-glucoside der Kettenlänge C8-C10 (DP = 1 bis 3), die als Vorlauf bei der destillativen Auftrennung von technischem Cs- g-Kokosfettalkohol anfallen und mit einem Anteil von weniger als 6 Gew.-% C12-Alkohol verunreinigt sein können sowie Alkyloligoglucoside auf Basis technischer Cg/π-Oxoalkohole (DP = 1 bis 3). Der Alkyl- bzw. Alkenylrest R3 kann sich ferner auch von primären Alkoholen mit 12 bis 22, vorzugsweise 12 bis 14 Kohlenstoffatomen ableiten. Typische Beispiele sind Laurylalkohol, My- ristylalkohol, Cetylalkohol, Palmoleylalkohol, Stearylalkohol, Isostearylalkohol, Oleylalkohol, Elaidylalkohol, Petroselinylalkohol, Arachylalkohol, Gadoleylalkohol, Behenylalkohol, Erucylalkohol, Brassidylalkohol sowie deren technische Gemische, die wie oben beschrieben erhalten werden können. Bevorzugt sind Alkyloligoglucoside auf Basis von gehärtetem C12/14- Kokosalkohol mit einem DP von 1 bis 3.
Alkylethersulfate
Alkylethersulfate ("Ethersulfate") stellen bekannte anionische Tenside dar, die großtechnisch durch SO3- oder Chlorsulfonsäure (CSA)-Sulfatierung von Fettalkohol- oder Oxoalkoholpo- lyglycolethern und nachfolgende Neutralisation hergestellt werden. Im Sinne der Erfindung kommen Ethersulfate in Betracht, die der Formel (V) folgen,
R4O-(CH2CH2O)mSO3X (V)
in der R4 für einen linearen oder verzweigten Alkyl- und/oder Alkenylrest mit 6 bis 22 Kohlenstoffatomen, m für Zahlen von 1 bis 10 und X für ein Alkali- und/oder Erdalkalimetall, Ammonium, Alkylammonium, Alkanolammonium oder Glucammonium steht. Typische Beispiele sind die Sulfate von Anlagerungsprodukten von durchschnittlich 1 bis 10 und insbesondere 2 bis 5 Mol Ethylenoxid an Capronalkohol, Caprylalkohol, 2-Ethylhexylalkohol, Caprinalkohol, Laurylalkohol, Isotridecylalkohol, Myristylalkohol, Cetylalkohol, Palmoleylalkohol, Stearylalkohol, Isostearylalkohol, Oleylalkohol, Elaidyl-alkohol, Petroselinylalkohol, Arachylalkohol, Gadoleylalkohol, Behenylalkohol, Erucylalkohol und Brassidylalkohol sowie deren technische Mischungen in Form ihrer Natrium- und/oder Magnesiumsalze. Die Ethersulfate können dabei sowohl eine konventionelle als auch eine eingeengte Homologenverteilung aufweisen. Besonders bevorzugt ist der Einsatz von Ethersulfaten auf Basis von Addukten von durchschnittlich 2 bis 3 Mol Ethylenoxid an technische C12/14- bzw. C12/18- Kokosfettalkoholfraktionen in Form ihrer Natrium- und/oder Magnesiumsalze.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Tensidgemische können zur Herstellung von kosmetischen Zubereitungen, wie beispielsweise Haarshampoos, Haarlotionen, Schaumbäder, Duschbäder, Cremes, Gele, Lotionen, alkoholische und wässrig/alkoholische Lösungen, Emulsionen, Wachs/Fettmassen, Stiftpräparaten, Pudern oder Salben dienen. Die Hydroxycarbonsäureester der vorliegenden Erfindung können ferner in Kombination mit weiteren in der Kosmetik üblichen Hilfs- und Zusatzstoffen, wie beispielsweise milden Tensiden, Ölkörpern, Emulgatoren, Überfettungsmitteln, Perlglanzwachsen, Konsistenzgebern, Verdickungsmitteln, Polymeren, Silikonverbindungen, Fetten, Wachsen, Lecithinen, Phosphorlipiden, Stabilisatoren, biogenen Wirkstoffen, Deodorantien, Antitranspirantien, Antischuppenmitteln, Filmbildnern, Quellmitteln, UV -Lichtschutzfaktoren u. ä. kombiniert werden. Eine weitere Ausführungsform der vorliegenden Erfindung betrifft die Verwendung von Hydroxycarbonsäureestern, die nach dem Verfahren gemäß Anspruch 1 hergestellt worden sind, als Hilfsmittel zur Herstellung von kosmetischen Mitteln, vorzugsweise solchen, die entweder Alkylethersulfate oder Alky- loligoglycosiden oder Fettalkoholethoxylaten oder Mischungen dieser Tenside enthalten.
Es kann vorteilhaft sein, solche Mischungen von APG- Verbindungen der Formel (IV) mit den erfindungsgemäßen Hydroxycarbonsäureestern zur Herstellung von kosmetischen Zubereitungen einzusetzen, in denen das Gewichtsverhältnis der APGs zu den Hydroxycarbonsäu- restern bzw. deren Mischungen im Bereich von 3 : 1 bis 1 : 3 liegt.
Wässerige Formulierungen sind dabei besonders bevorzugt, insbesondere wenn sie schwach sauer eingestellt sind und vorzugsweise einen pH- Wert zwischen 5 und 6,5 aufweisen.
Beispiele
1. Herstellung einer Monoalkylcitronensäure
299,6 g (1,6 mol) eines C12-Fettalkohols wurden mit 127,2 g (0,4 mol) eines C12-14- Fettalkohols, der mit 3 Mol Ethylenoxid pro Mol Fettalkohol umgesetzt war zusammen mit 384,2 g (2,0 mol) wasserfreier Citronensäure in einem Rührbehälter mit Wasserabscheider vorgelegt und unter einer Stickstoffatmosphäre auf 160 °C erhitzt. Nach Abschluss der Reaktion wurde auf 100 °C abgekühlt und das Endprodukt durch Destillation gewonnen. Es wurde ein gelber, viskoser blanker Ester erhalten (Ausbeute 775,0 g).
Die Verseifüngszahl betrug 432, die Säurezahl wurde mit 284 gemessen, die OH-Zahl war 210, die Esterzahl betrug 148. Der Anteil an freie Citronensäure betrug 3,7 Gew.-%.
2. Anwendungstechnische Untersuchungen
Es wurde eine Mischung aus einem Ethersulfat (Texapon N der Anmelderin) sowohl mit reinem Laurylcitraten (VI) als auch mit erfindungsgemäßen Lauryl-/C12-l4-Fettalkohol+3-EO- Citrat im Gewichtsverhältnis 3 : 1 bzw. 9 : 1 (El und E4) (bezogen auf Aktivsubstanz) in Wasser hergestellt, wobei der pH- Wert der Lösung auf 6 eingestellt wurde.
Ergebnisse:
Es wird deutlich, dass nur die erfindungsgemäßen Produkte zu brauchbaren Produkten führt, auch die nachträgliche Mischung von Alkyl- und Alkyloxycitraten (V3) führt nicht zum gewünschten Erfolg. Es wurde weiterhin ein handelsübliches Alkyl(oliog)glycosid (APG - hier Plantacare 1200 der Anmelderin) mit unterschiedlichen Alkylcitraten wässerig formuliert. pH- Wert = 6. Das Gewichtsverhältnis zwischen APG und Alkylcitrat betrug jeweils 3 : 1. Der Gesamtaktivsubstanzgehalt der Lösung betrug jeweils 30 %.

Claims

Patentansprüche
1. Verfahren zur Herstellung von Hydroxycarbonsäureestern, indem man Hydroxycarbonsäuren oder deren Salze mit einer Mischung aus Alkoholen der allgemeinen Formeln (I) R!-OH und (II) R2-(C2H4)n-OH, wobei R1 und R2 unabhängig voneinander, für einen gesättigten oder ungesättigten, verzweigten oder unverzweigten Alkylrest mit 6 bis 22 C- Atomen und n für eine Zahl zwischen 1 und 20 steht, bei Temperaturen von 120 bis 180 °C umsetzt, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Verbindungen der Formeln (I) und (II) im Gewichtsverhältnis 10 : 1 bis 1 : 10 eingesetzt werden.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass als Hydroxycarbonsäure Citronensäure ausgewählt ist.
3. Verfahren nach den Ansprüchen 1 bis 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Alkohole der Formeln (I) und (II) im Gewichtsverhältnis 10 : 1 bis 1 : 1, vorzugsweise von 9 : 1 bis 1 : 1, besonders bevorzugt von 4 : 1 bis 1 : 1 und insbesondere von 1 : 1 eingesetzt werden.
4. Verfahren nach den Ansprüchen 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Hydroxycarbonsäure in solchen Mengen eingesetzt wird, dass das molare Verhältnis zwischen freien Carboxyl-Gruppen der Hydroxycarbonsäure und freien OH-Gruppen der Alkohole bei höchstens 3,5 : 1 und vorzugsweise bei 3 : 1 liegt.
5. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Reaktion bei Temperaturen von 150 bis 170, vorzugsweise bei 160 °C, durchgeführt wird.
6. Verwendung von Hydroxycarbonsäureestern, die hergestellt werden, indem man Hydroxycarbonsäuren oder deren Salze mit einer Mischung aus Alkoholen der allgemeinen Formeln (I) R*-OH und (II) R2-(C2H4)n-OH, wobei R1 und R2 unabhängig voneinander, für einen gesättigten oder ungesättigten, verzweigten oder unverzweigten Alkylrest mit 6 bis 22 C-Atomen und n für eine Zahl zwischen 1 und 20 steht, bei Temperaturen von 120 bis 180 °C umsetzt, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Verbindungen der Formeln (I) und (II) im Gewichtsverhältnis 10 : 1 bis 1 : 10 eingesetzt werden, in kosmetischen, wässerigen Zusammensetzungen.
7. Verwendung nach Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die kosmetischen Mittel entweder Alkylethersulfate oder Alkyloligoglycoside oder Fettalkoholethoxylate oder Mischungen dieser Tenside enthalten.
8. Hydroxycarbonsäureester, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man Hydroxycarbonsäuren oder deren Salze mit einer Mischung aus Alkoholen der allgemeinen Formeln (I) R!-OH 1 und (II) R -(C2H4)n-OH, wobei R und R unabhängig voneinander, für einen gesättigten oder ungesättigten, verzweigten oder unverzweigten Alkylrest mit 6 bis 22 C-Atomen und n für eine Zahl zwischen 1 und 20 steht, bei Temperaturen von 120 bis 180 °C umsetzt, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Verbindungen der Formeln (I) und (II) im Gewichtsverhältnis 10 : 1 bis 1 : 10 eingesetzt werden.
9. Hydroxycarbonsäureester nach Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass als Hydroxycarbonsäure Citronensäure ausgewählt ist.
10. Mischungen von isomereren Citronensäureestern und ggf. freier, unveresterter Citronensäure, wobei die Mischungen Ester gemäß der allgemeinen Formel (III) enthalten,

in der R', R", R'" für ein Wasserstoffatom, und/oder einen Alkylrest mit 6 bis 22 C- Atomen und/oder einen ethoxylierten Alkylrest mit 6 bis 22 C-Atomen steht, wobei in den ethoxylierten Alkylresten zwischen 2 und 10 Teile Ethylenoxid pro Alkylrest enthalten sind, mit den Maßgaben, daß mindestens einer der Reste R', R' bzw. R'" einen solchen ethoxylierten Alkylrest darstellt, wobei das Verhältnis von Mono- zu Diestern in der Mischung bei 1 : 1 bis 1 : 2 liegt.
