Definitions
- the present invention relates to a fluid dispensing device, and more particularly such a device comprising means for preventing accidental or undesirable actuation before the first use of the device.
- Systems for preventing accidental actuation of a fluid dispenser device are well known in the art. Their purpose is to guarantee that when the user decides to activate the device for the first time, the entire product is contained inside the device, and that there has been no distribution, no loss of tightness during the storage or transport phase of the device. These systems can be of different types.
- systems with tear-off strips are known, in which a strip of tear-off material is placed on or around the device, the latter being unable to be actuated until this strip has been torn off.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a device for dispensing a fluid product which does not have the abovementioned drawbacks.
- the present invention aims to provide a fluid dispensing device which prevents any accidental or undesirable actuation before the first actuation by the user, without requiring the use of an additional part intended for this purpose.
- the present invention also provides child safety by preventing actuation of the device by a child.
- the present invention also aims to provide such a device which is simple and inexpensive to manufacture and assemble, while being particularly safe and reliable in use.
- the present invention therefore relates to a device for dispensing a fluid product, comprising a dispensing orifice, a reservoir containing at least one dose of fluid product, at least one piston sliding axially in said reservoir for dispensing said fluid product, a member for distribution cooperating with said piston, and an actuating member cooperating with said dispensing member, said dispensing member being movable between a blocking position preventing actuation of said actuating member, and a release position, in which the actuation of said actuating member moves said dispensing member to dispense a dose of fluid, said dispensing member being manually moved from its blocking position to its release position before actuation of said device.
- said dispensing member is axially movable and said actuating member is a lateral actuating member moving in a direction approximately perpendicular to the direction of axial movement of said dispensing member.
- said dispensing member slides axially between said blocking position, in which it is disposed away from said piston, and said release position, in which it is arranged in contact with said piston.
- said device comprises a body comprising said dispensing orifice on one side, and a bottom wall on the other side, said dispensing member protruding from said bottom wall in the locked position.
- said dispensing member comprises at least one gripping means cooperating with said actuating element during its actuation.
- said dispensing member comprises two gripping means offset axially, the first gripping means cooperating with the element actuator for dispensing a first dose of fluid, and the second gripping means cooperating with the actuator for dispensing a second dose of fluid.
- a gripping means comprises a projection cooperating with a cam surface of said actuating element.
- said at least one gripping means cooperates with the actuating element to prevent its actuation.
- FIG. 1 is a schematic cross-sectional view of a fluid dispenser device according to an advantageous embodiment of the present invention, in the locked position;
- FIG. 1 is a schematic perspective view of the device shown in Figure 1;
- FIG. 3 is a partial schematic perspective view of part of the device of Figure 1, showing the locking position;
- - Figure 4 is a view similar to Figure 1, in the release position, that is to say in a position in which the user can operate the device;
- FIG. 5 is a view similar to FIG. 2, in the release position, and
- Figure 6 is a view similar to Figure 3, showing in more detail the release position.
- a fluid dispenser device generally comprises a body 1 incorporating a dispensing orifice 5.
- a fluid reservoir 10 is disposed in said body and is connected to said dispensing orifice 5.
- product fluid means any type of liquid, gaseous, pasty or powdery product, depending on the desired use of the device.
- the invention applies more particularly to so-called devices single or double doses, in which the reservoir contains one dose or two half doses of fluid.
- a piston 15 slides axially in said reservoir 10 to distribute the said dose or doses of fluid product in one or two actuations of the device.
- a dispensing member 20 is provided which cooperates with said piston 15, said dispensing member 20 itself being moved by means of an actuating element 30 that the user operates.
- the user moves the actuating element 30, which causes a displacement of the dispensing member 20 which, cooperating with the piston 15, displaces the latter inside the tank
- the reservoir 10 is formed by a hollow tube closed on one side by the piston 15 and on the other side by a tight plug 11, a system for opening said plug 11 being provided, this system of opening which may include a needle 19 piercing the plug 11 during the first actuation of the device.
- the needle 19 is fixed relative to the body 1 and to the dispensing orifice 5, and it is the plug 11 which, under the effect of the pressure created inside the reservoir 10 by the displacement of the piston 15, moves in the direction of the needle to be pierced by the latter.
- the present invention is not limited to a device as shown in the drawings, which only represents an advantageous embodiment to which the present invention applies.
- the dispensing member 20 can be moved between a locking position, shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 and a release position shown in Figures 4 to 6.
- the locking position the dispensing member 20 prevents movement, and therefore an actuation of the actuating element 30.
- the release position the user can move the element d actuation 30 to cause the dispensing of a dose of product, as described above. It is the user who manually moves the dispensing member 20 from its blocking position to its release position before actuation of the device.
- the present invention therefore makes it possible to provide means for blocking actuation of the device which do not require any additional part, since it is the dispensing member 20 itself which serves as a blocking element.
- the present invention therefore makes it possible to save one or more parts for producing a blocking system, which therefore has advantages in terms of the costs of manufacturing and assembling the device. This is all the more important since the device according to the invention can be of the disposable type.
- the dispensing member 20 can be moved axially, that is to say in the same direction as the movement of the piston 15 in the reservoir 10, while the actuating element 30 is a lateral actuating element which moves in a direction approximately perpendicular to the direction of axial movement of said dispensing member 20.
- the present invention therefore makes it possible to provide a clever and economical locking system for a device which may include a lateral actuation.
- the dispensing member 20 is mounted to slide axially between its blocking position and its release position, said dispensing member 20 being disposed away from the piston 15 in the locking position, as visible in FIG. 1, and coming from in contact with said piston 15 when it is moved towards its release position, as can be seen in FIG. 4.
- This implementation is an additional security, since it avoids any risk of accidental movement of the piston 15, for example during transport, even if said dispensing member 20 should be slightly moved out of its locked position.
- the body 1 may have a bottom wall 2 on the side opposite to the dispensing orifice 5, said bottom wall having an opening through which one end of said dispensing member 20 projects in the locked position. This appears more particularly in FIGS. 1 and 2.
- the user when the user wishes to use the device, he grasps the body 1 and with a finger or preferably his thumb, exerts an axial pressure on the projecting part of the distribution 20 which protrudes from the bottom wall 2, causing a displacement of said distribution member 20 towards its release position.
- the release position is reached when the dispensing member 20 no longer projects from said bottom wall of the body 1, as visible in FIG. 5.
- This implementation guarantees in particular that it is impossible to move the dispensing member beyond its release position, which could lead to an undesirable displacement of the piston 15 in the reservoir and therefore a partial dispensing of product. From the moment when the end of the dispensing member 20 no longer protrudes from the bottom wall 2, the user can no longer move the dispensing member 20 more, and this risk is therefore eliminated.
- the dispensing member 20 advantageously comprises at least one gripping means 25, 26 which cooperates with said lateral actuating element 30 during its actuation.
- the dispensing member has only one gripping means 25.
- the content of the reservoir 10 must be separated into two doses distributed successively during two successive actuations of the device.
- the dispensing member 20 preferably comprises two gripping means 25 and 26 offset axially, the first gripping means 25 cooperating with the actuating element 30 to dispense the first dose of product, and the second means outlet 26 cooperating with the actuating element 30 to dispense the second dose of product.
- these means each can have a projection which cooperates with a cam surface 31 of said actuating element 30.
- the actuating element 30 is pivotally mounted on the body 1 and the cam surface 31, can slide under said projection 25 or 26, in the release position of the dispensing member. A pivoting of the lateral actuating element 30 then causes an axial displacement upwards of said dispensing member 20 to dispense a dose of product.
- FIGS. 1 and 3 show the first gripping means , in this case the projection 25, which cooperates with the end of the cam surface 31 of the lateral actuating element 30 to prevent any displacement thereof.
- the present invention therefore advantageously uses the distribution means of the device to achieve blocking in the actuating element before the first use of the device. No additional part is necessary, and the various constituent elements of the actuation system are neither modified nor produced in a more complicated manner to allow this blocking to be achieved.
- the example shown in the figures is not limiting, and other gripping means could be envisaged.
- the dispensing member 20 could comprise, in place of the projections, openings into which the cam surface 31 of the lateral actuating element 30 could penetrate in order to cause a displacement of said dispensing member.
- Other variants are obviously also possible.
- the present invention therefore makes it possible to provide in a simple and inexpensive manner a reliable and effective system for preventing unwanted or accidental actuation of the device, the latter being brought manually by the user into a position allowing its use at the desired time.
