Das erfindungsgemäße Montageverfahren wird bevorzugt in folgenden Schritten durchgeführt. Das Führungselement 16 des Befestigungsmittels 7 ist vollständig auf den Halterungsabschnitt 17 aufgesteckt, bzw. aufgeschoben. In dieser Position (Figur 5) weisen die zweiten elektrischen Kontakte 5 des zweiten Steckelements 9 senkrecht nach oben. Auch die ersten elektrischen Kontakte 4 des ersten Steckelements 8 sind senkrecht analog dem zweiten Steckelement 9 und den zweiten elektrischen Kontakten 5 senkrecht ausgerichtet. Das Befestigungsmittel 7 befindet sich in der fertig montierten Position. Eine mechanische Klemmvorrichtung 23 fixiert das Netzkabel 3 an dem Befestigungsmittel 7. Das Befestigungsmittel 7 ist mittels seines Führungselements 16 an dem Halterungsabschnitt 17 aufgesetzt. Durch diese Anordnung ist eine zuverlässige Zugentlastung für die ersten elektrischen Kontakte 4 des Netzkabels 3 geschaffen. An dem ersten Steckelement 8 sind auch elektrische Kontakte für den Anschluss 14, bzw. die Betriebsanzeige 15 gehalten. Durch die beschriebene Befestigung des Befestigungsmittels 7 an dem Gehäuse 1 ist nicht nur eine zuverlässige Zugentlastung des Netzkabels 3 geschaffen, sondern es ist auch verhindert, dass das erste Steckelement 8 aus dem zweiten Steckelement 9 herausrutschen kann. Somit ist auch eine zuverlässige Steckverbindung zwischen ersten Steckelement 8 und zweiten Steckelement 9 geschaffen. In einem abschließenden Montageschritt wird die Abdeckung 20 entlang des Netzkabels 3 in Richtung dem Gehäuse 1 geschoben. Das Anschlagmittel 21 kommt auf der Oberfläche des Befestigungsmittels 7 zu liegen. Die Schraube 19 wird in die Abdeckung 20 eingesetzt und in die Aufnahme 18 des Halterungsabschnitt 17 eingeschraubt. Claims (24)

  1. Electric iron with a housing (1), a sole (2), a mains cable (3) having first electrical contacts (4) which are electrically conductively connected with second electrical contacts (5) at the iron, and a fastening means (7) for tension relief of the mains cable (3), wherein the first electrical contacts (4) are held rigidly at a spacing from one another at a first plug element (8) constructed at the fastening means (7) and the second electrical contacts (5) are held at a second plug element (9), particularly in the rear region of the sole (2), complementary with the first plug element (8), characterised in that the second plug element (9) is pivotable from a first position in which it is accessible for producing the electrical connection with the first plug element (8) into a second position in which the fastening means (7) is fastened with tension relief to the iron.
  2. Iron according to claim 1, characterised in that the second plug element (9) is pivotable upwardly from the first position to the second position about a pivot axis extending parallel to the sole surface (6).
  3. Iron according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the second plug element (9) is oriented substantially vertically in the second position and the second electrical contacts (5) face upwardly.
  4. Iron according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the second plug element (9) is pivotable from the first position to the second position through an angle between 30° and 60°.
  5. Iron according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the second plug element (9) is mounted at a mount (10) which is fastened to the sole (2).
  6. Iron according to claim 5, characterised in that the mount (10) has two mounting pins (11) engaging in opposite grooves (12) of the second plug element (9).
  7. Iron according to claim 5 or 6, characterised in that the second plug element (9) has at least one retaining lug (13) which in a first position, in which the second plug element (9) is accessible for producing the electrical connection with the first plug element (8), engages the mount (10) and holds the second plug element (9) in the first position.
  8. Iron according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that an operation indicator (15) is mounted at the fastening means (7) and/or an electrical connection (14) is constructed for the operation indicator (15).
  9. Iron according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the fastening means (7) is fastened to the housing (1) or to the sole (2).
  10. Iron according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the housing (1) or the sole (2) has a mounting section (17) and the fastening means (7) has a guide element corresponding with the mounting section (17).
  11. Iron according to claim 13, characterised in that the mounting section (17) has a receptacle (18) for a screw (19) for detachable fastening of a cover (20) to the housing (1) or the sole (2).
  12. Iron according to claim 11, characterised in that the cover (20) has an abutment means (21) for fixing the fastening means (7) to the housing (1) in a biased position.
  13. Method of assembling an iron, characterised in that in a first step first electrical contacts (4) of a mains cable (3) are brought into electrical contact with second electrical contacts (5) at the iron and that in a second step the second electrical contacts (5) are pivotably fastened to a sole (2) and that in a third step the first electrical contacts (4) are pivoted against the sole (2) or against a housing (1).
  14. Method of assembling an iron, characterised in that in a first step second electrical contacts (5) at the iron are pivotably fastened to a sole (2) and that in a second step first electrical contacts (4) of a mains cable (3) are brought into electrical contact with the second electrical contacts (5) and that in a third step the first electrical contacts (4) are pivoted against the sole (2) or against a housing (1).
  15. Method according to claim 13 or 14, characterised in that in a fourth step a cover (20) for fixing the first electrical contacts (4) in a defined position is fastened to the housing (1) or to the sole (2).
  16. Iron according to any one of claims 5 to 12, characterised in that the mount (10) is constructed as an elongate, first mounting bracket, which, as fastening means and at the same time as a thermal separating element, is connected in the rear region of the iron on the one hand with the sole (2) and on the other hand with the housing (1).
  17. Iron according to any one of claims 5 to 12 or 16, characterised in that the mount (10) is executed as an areal moulded part with a large heat dissipation area.

Iron according to any one of claims 5 to 12, 16 and 17, characterised in that the mounting bracket (10) is made of a metal with relatively low thermal conductivity, particularly as a sheet metal moulded part, or a high-quality heat-resistant plastics material, particularly as an injection-moulded part.
  19. Iron according to any one of claims 5 to 12 or 16 to 18, characterised in that the mounting bracket (10) is in plan viewa substantially trapezium shaped and has a central recess for the cable guidance.
  20. Iron according to any one of claims 5 to 12 or 16 to 19, characterised in that the mounting bracket (10) has in longitudinal section a substantially elongated S-shape and its end intended for connection with the plastics material housing (19) is laterally and vertically spaced far from the sole (2).
  21. Iron according to any one of claims 16 to 20, characterised in that a second mounting bracket (27) connected with the plastics material housing (25) near the front end of the iron is provided as further fastening means and at the same time as a thermal separating element.
  22. Iron according to claim 21, characterised in that the second mounting bracket (27) is connected with the plastics material housing (25) by way of a spacer (29) of high-quality heat-resistant plastics material, particularly PE or PBT.
  23. Iron according to one of claims 21 and 22, characterised in that the first (11) and/or second mounting bracket has centring openings (23) and the plastics material housing (19) or the spacer has centring lugs (21) for engagement with the centring openings for precise positioning of the plastics material housing relative to the metal sole (1) over the or each mounting bracket.
  24. Iron according to any one of the preceding claims 21 to 23, characterised in that the plastics material housing is made of a thick heat-resistant low-cost plastics material, particularly polypropylene or a similar plastics material.'
