Definitions
- the invention relates to an antenna arrangement according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a generic antenna arrangement is for example from DE 201 11 229 U1 known.
- an antenna assembly for motor vehicles which has a chassis, above which a printed circuit board is arranged, for receiving circuit components.
- a printed circuit board is arranged, for receiving circuit components.
- vertically to the substantially horizontally oriented line board one or more vertically projecting and at least partially planar antenna elements are provided, specifically for receiving different services or for the mobile radio area in different frequencies.
- a hood which may have a fin-like shape.
- Such antennas are usually mounted on the motor vehicle body panel, for example, at the transition of the motor vehicle roof to the rear window.
- a multi-frequency antenna arrangement in particular for motor vehicles with a corresponding hood is known from the EP 0 862 239 A1 known.
- the hood-shaped housing for example, two vertically aligned and laterally offset transversely to the vertical plane printed circuit boards for receiving the electronic components are provided.
- a connection adapter is provided at the upper end of the housing, ie at the highest point of the hood in order to attach a whip-shaped antenna there.
- From the DE 694 19 080 C2 has also become known, preferably for cars usable antenna.
- This also has a hood-shaped housing, at the highest point of elevation a connection point for a whip-shaped antenna is provided.
- one or more vertically or horizontally oriented printed circuit board elements may be arranged within the antenna housing. These are also arranged in an embodiment also parallel to each other and across the plane of the printed circuit board sitting side by side, in an orientation transverse to the vehicle longitudinal axis. Likewise, they can also be arranged with side offset parallel to each other, in an orientation along the vehicle axis.
- antenna arrangements have become known in which on a more or less horizontal chassis building initially mentioned printed circuit board with the circuit electronic components, filter assemblies, etc. is provided, and the antenna elements are in turn positioned perpendicular thereto in the vertical direction.
- These may, for example, not only consist of metallically conductive self-supporting radiator devices, but for example also again of a printed circuit board element, i. generally of a dielectric material on which metallized surfaces are formed to form the radiators.
- radiator element is sufficient. If several services or a service are to be implemented several times, or if, for example, a communication in different frequency bands in the mobile radio area is to be enabled, then naturally a plurality of mutually offset radiators or planar antenna elements are provided.
- a generic antenna arrangement is known from US 5,181,044 A known. It is a mountable on a vehicle roof antenna.
- This antenna comprises, as an essential radiating element, a so-called “top load plate” or “disk”. Underneath is provided between a base or metal plate and the radiation element essential for the antenna, a supply and matching circuit, which may also consist of a printed circuit board. In this case, the supply and matching circuit can also be designed as a capacitive or inductive element.
- the object of the present invention is to provide, starting from this prior art, a further improved antenna arrangement which basically has good antenna properties with overall reduced manufacturing and material costs.
- the at least one radiator arrangement can consist of a conductive or metallized surface of a vertically aligned printed circuit board.
- the printed circuit board instead of the printed circuit board, another vertically oriented dielectric substrate can be used.
- the printed circuit board and the at least one radiator arrangement are arranged lying parallel to each other or lying in a common plane.
- the solution according to the invention is also characterized, inter alia, by the fact that, unlike the prior art, the at least one antenna radiator arrangement is not provided above the printed circuit boards, but laterally beside this at least one printed circuit board. As a result, an unfavorable influence on the radiation characteristic is avoided. This is especially surprising and not obvious, since such a broadband antenna as possible for the mobile sector to wavelengths in the range of about 15 cm to 30 cm is designed, and thus the size of the standing PCB arranged in this wavelength relevant Area is located.
- the antenna element Preferably, it is also possible to provide only a single printed circuit board, on which then not only the possibly provided high-frequency circuit is housed, but then on other sections areas, for example, planar conductive sections may be formed, which form the relevant antenna element.
- planar conductive sections may be formed, which form the relevant antenna element.
- a wide variety of geometric shapes for forming the antenna element are possible, for example, whip-like forms of training, which have a vertically extending, planar antenna section which merges into an upper, for example, trailing antenna section.
- this antenna element can likewise be realized as a planar antenna element in a region offset on the first antenna element on the printed circuit board.
- a further printed circuit board element which lies in the same plane to the first printed circuit board element or, for example, with a parallel offset laterally, in order to accommodate the at least one further antenna element here.
- the antenna elements and possibly provided high-frequency circuit can ultimately be accommodated on a single common printed circuit board arrangement.
- FIG. 1 is a schematic side view, a motor vehicle body panel 1, for example, at the rear end of the roof at the transition to a rear window 2 in a schematic side view reproduced.
- a radiator assembly 9 On the body panel 1 is at a correspondingly large-sized opening 3 in the body panel 1 from below a base or base plate 7 with a vertically oriented printed circuit board 5 mounted thereon with electrically conductive surface portions 9 ', whereby a radiator assembly 9 is formed.
- the sheet-like elements 9 ' are usually aligned in the vehicle longitudinal direction.
- the entire radiator assembly 9 is usually mounted on the symmetry line on the motor vehicle.
- the emitter assembly 9 starting from the lower base plate or base plate 7, which is arranged substantially horizontally or slightly angled relative to a horizontal on the motor vehicle body panel 1, a vertically extending first flat portion 9 ', to which Then, a whip-shaped, rearwardly extending subsequent antenna section 9 "can connect in the embodiment shown both antenna sections 9 'and 9" via a combination consisting of inductance and capacitance 13 are electrically connected.
- a printed circuit board 15 is provided on which the possibly provided high-frequency circuit of the antenna assembly is housed. In other words, sitting on this circuit board section 15 all the necessary electrical components and assemblies, filter modules, etc.
- connection cable Via a possibly provided in the base or the base plate 7 opening 16 then the corresponding connection cable can be inserted into the vehicle interior. This is not shown in detail in the second embodiment.
- FIG. 2 the corresponding arrangement is reproduced again in a schematic perspective representation, wherein the three spatial coordinates X, Y and Z are drawn in to illustrate the perspective.
- the possibly provided high-frequency circuit for the two radiator arrangements 9, 29 in the printed circuit board section 15 ' is accommodated on the common printed circuit board 15 between the two radiator arrangements 9, 29.
- radiator assemblies 9 and 29 may be formed separately from the printed circuit board 15. But even in this embodiment, the printed circuit board 15 in vertical alignment would preferably come to lie directly laterally between the two radiator assemblies 9, 29.
- the entire assembly is mechanically held as mentioned by the base or the so-called base plate 7.
- certain sections may also be omitted or broken off on the printed circuit board 15 if, for example, an antenna element is to be accommodated there, which is not vertically aligned in deviation from the exemplary embodiment shown, for example in the case of a GPS antenna.
- FIG. 1 is still another figure la shown, with the essential difference in Figure la compared FIG. 1 is that it is an on-roof mounting in the embodiment according to FIG la.
- the base or base plate 7 is mounted from above on the body panel 1, usually on the body roof, so that the base or base plate 7, the opening 3 covers.
- the antenna assembly can also be mounted on a disc, preferably on a rear window of a motor vehicle preferably at the upper edge in the vicinity of the transition to the body roof.
- a corresponding, not shown guard is placed, which covers and protects the entire antenna array shown.

Description
The invention relates to an antenna arrangement according to the preamble of

The entire antenna arrangement is covered by a hood, which may have a fin-like shape. Such antennas are usually mounted on the motor vehicle body panel, for example, at the transition of the motor vehicle roof to the rear window.

In addition, antenna arrangements have become known in which on a more or less horizontal chassis building initially mentioned printed circuit board with the circuit electronic components, filter assemblies, etc. is provided, and the antenna elements are in turn positioned perpendicular thereto in the vertical direction. These may, for example, not only consist of metallically conductive self-supporting radiator devices, but for example also again of a printed circuit board element, i. generally of a dielectric material on which metallized surfaces are formed to form the radiators.
If you want to receive only in a frequency band range, a radiator element is sufficient. If several services or a service are to be implemented several times, or if, for example, a communication in different frequency bands in the mobile radio area is to be enabled, then naturally a plurality of mutually offset radiators or planar antenna elements are provided.

The object of the present invention is to provide, starting from this prior art, a further improved antenna arrangement which basically has good antenna properties with overall reduced manufacturing and material costs.
The object is achieved according to the invention specified in
According to the invention it has now been found that the at least one radiator arrangement can consist of a conductive or metallized surface of a vertically aligned printed circuit board. Instead of the printed circuit board, another vertically oriented dielectric substrate can be used. The printed circuit board and the at least one radiator arrangement are arranged lying parallel to each other or lying in a common plane.
By using a vertically oriented printed circuit board, overall a simple overall construction of a corresponding antenna arrangement becomes possible. It is surprising in this embodiment that the antenna diagram is not adversely affected by the vertically oriented and laterally applied to the antenna element circuit board in the expected manner.
The solution according to the invention is also characterized, inter alia, by the fact that, unlike the prior art, the at least one antenna radiator arrangement is not provided above the printed circuit boards, but laterally beside this at least one printed circuit board.
Preferably, it is also possible to provide only a single printed circuit board, on which then not only the possibly provided high-frequency circuit is housed, but then on other sections areas, for example, planar conductive sections may be formed, which form the relevant antenna element. In this case, a wide variety of geometric shapes for forming the antenna element are possible, for example, whip-like forms of training, which have a vertically extending, planar antenna section which merges into an upper, for example, trailing antenna section.
If, for example, a further antenna element is to be provided for a second frequency band for the mobile radio range or for the implementation of further services, then this antenna element can likewise be realized as a planar antenna element in a region offset on the first antenna element on the printed circuit board. Equally, however, it is also possible to use a further printed circuit board element, which lies in the same plane to the first printed circuit board element or, for example, with a parallel offset laterally, in order to accommodate the at least one further antenna element here.
Thus, ultimately, the antenna elements and possibly provided high-frequency circuit can ultimately be accommodated on a single common printed circuit board arrangement.
Only for the installation on the motor vehicle and for the mechanical anchoring of the printed circuit board and the antenna elements thereon is still a mechanical support serving socket necessary.
