Definitions
- the present invention relates to a rocket having a self-destruct device for a gyratory round, this rocket being provided with at least one moving firing pin between a waiting position and a percussion position, a spring member being associated with this striker to move it in its percussion position, a primer associated with a security mechanism, this security mechanism being mobile between a storage position in which the primer is not aligned with the striker and an armed position in which the primer is aligned with the striker, the device self-destruction is also movable between a locked position in which it blocks the striker in its waiting position, and an unlocked position in which it releases the striker.
- rocket detonators projectile heads having firing pin, primer and explosive charge
- self-destruction intended to provoke the explosion of these projectiles after a lapse of determined time if they have not hit a target, this to avoid leaving them armed in nature that could explode at any time and hurt innocent people.
- the invention is concerned only with the roundabouts that are drawn by barrel guns stranded helically to print to projectiles a gyro motion on themselves combined with a linear trajectory.
- centrifugal force is used to activate self-destruct devices as for example a spiral spring placed between the striker and the primer, this spiral spring being closed in the locked position and opening in the unlocked position.
- this type of mechanism only works with very high rotational speeds example 70,000 rpm and is not suitable at all for lower speeds such as 15,000 rpm.
- the reliability and reproducibility of such a mechanism are difficult to control.
- Another solution is to provide a pyrotechnic chain that snaps in as soon as departure of the projectile and delays the firing of the primer.
- this mechanism is complex to implement, expensive, unreliable over time because of pyrotechnic components sensitive to humidity and temperature differences.
- the precision and reliability of the mechanism are random and not reproducible.
- this mechanism is irreversible since the process of self-destruction engages simultaneously with the launching of the projectile. It is self-destructive and can not be reused as opposed to mechanical devices, which is particularly useful for performing tests.
- the present invention aims to overcome these disadvantages by proposing a rocket for whirling projectile provided with a device for mechanical self-destruction, sequential therefore reversible, the process of self-destruction only starting at a speed determined roundabout of the projectile, in particular when it loses speed and the projectile initiates its descent, reusable if necessary, reliable in time and whose operation is totally manageable and not random, this rocket being also designed to meet the international standards in force armament.
