Definitions
- the invention relates to a soundproofing assembly, in particular intended for use in a motor vehicle, as well as a part comprising a wall covered by said assembly.
- the invention proposes an assembly comprising four superimposed layers constituted respectively by: - a first layer having a resistance to the passage of air of between 500 and 2,000 N.nr 3 .s,
- a second porous layer of the acoustic spring type, having a resistivity of between 10,000 N.mAs and 50,000 N.m s, the first layer covering the second layer,
- a third layer of the heavy mass type, viscoelastic, airtight, with a density greater than or equal to 1,500 Kg / m 3 , with a surface mass of between 0.2 Kg / m 2 and 9 Kg / m 2 , the second layer covering the third layer, - a fourth porous layer, of the acoustic spring type, having a resistivity of between 10,000 N.mAs and 50,000 Nm ⁇ .s, the third layer covering the fourth layer.
- the first couple formed by the first and second layers and the second couple formed by the third and the fourth thus defined are relatively complementary and combine their effects to obtain homogeneous results both in the field of noise absorption and of sound insulation over a wide frequency range.
- the Applicant has determined that the first couple is particularly effective in absorbing not only the high frequencies (above 1000 Hz), but also the medium frequencies (between 400 Hz and 1000 Hz) for which the second couple is not very satisfactory and that conversely the first couple has average qualities in sound insulation which are compensated by the second couple which is relatively efficient in this area. Consequently, taking into account the various noises relating to motor vehicles, the solution of the invention proves to be particularly suitable for the field of soundproofing of motor vehicles, in particular for covering the floor, the trunk, the apron, the rear shelf and the door panels. It is therefore possible to obtain a reduction of weight between 15% and 35% approximately without reducing the soundproofing quality perceived compared to the solutions of the prior art.
- the first layer has a resistivity of between 100,000 N.nr 4 .s and 400,000 N.nr 4 .s and / or between 3 and 20 times the resistivity of the second layer.
- the resistance to the passage of air from a layer is equal to the product of the resistivity of a layer by its thickness.
- the fourth layer comprises a Young's modulus at least twice less than the Young's modulus of the second layer.
- the invention relates to a part further comprising the assembly, a rigid wall, said assembly at least partially covering said wall and among said four superimposed layers, the fourth layer being closest to the wall and the first layer being further from said wall.
- FIG. 1 shows in cross section an assembly according to the invention
- Figure 2 shows in cross section a variant of the assembly of Figure 1.
- FIG. 1 illustrates a part 1 comprising a rigid wall and a flexible assembly 10.
- Said assembly 10 comprises a first layer 2, a second flexible layer 4, a third flexible layer 6 and a fourth flexible layer 8 superimposed and covering a substantially rigid wall 17 on which it is fixed.
- the part 1 delimits a space 15, such as a vehicle interior, to be soundproofed.
- the first 2 and second 4 layers are air permeable, while the third layer 6 is air impermeable.
- the first layer 2 has a resistance not infinite to the passage of air, but nevertheless high.
- the first layer 2 has a higher resistivity than that of the second layer 4.
- the third layer 6 and the fourth layer 8 process the structure-borne and aerial noise radiated by the wall 17, in order to isolate said wall from the passenger compartment 15.
- the residual acoustic waves present in the passenger compartment 15 partially penetrate through the layer 2, then into the layer 4 forming an acoustic spring where they are absorbed, the layer 6 forming a heavy, viscoelastic, mechanically inert mass and supported by the layer 8 also forming an acoustic spring defining a barrier for the acoustic waves.
- the first layer 2 is here of substantially uniform constitution, in particular in terms of resistivity, over its entire thickness and further constitutes the decorative layer of the part 1. It has a thickness greater than or equal to 4 millimeters, advantageously between 5 and 10 millimeters.
- It can in particular consist of glass fibers, cotton or synthetic fibers (polyester, polypropylene, polyamide, acrylic) and polypropylene. As a variant, it can also consist of a densified nonwoven, a needle punch or the like coated with latex.
- the second layer and the fourth layer are each advantageously made of thermoplastic foam or felt. They can both be made of the same material, but this is not a necessity. Their density is advantageously between 15 Kg / m 3 and 100 Kg / m 3 . Their porosity (proportion of air trapped for a given volume) is advantageously greater than 0.9 and preferably greater than 0.95. Each of the layers advantageously has a thickness of between 5 millimeters and 20 millimeters.
- the heavy mass 6 advantageously comprises a thermoplastic material of polyolefin type (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate, PolyEthylene, Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) and incorporates waste of the bitumen, chalk and / or barium sulphate type, making it possible to obtain a high density at low cost.
- Young's modulus is less than 1,000 MPa, it has a density greater than or equal to 1,500 Kg / m 3 , preferably greater than or equal to 2,000 Kg / m 3 , a surface mass of between 0.2 Kg / m 2 and 9 Kg / m 2 and advantageously a thickness of between 0.1 millimeter and 5 millimeters.
- the thickness of the assembly 10 is advantageously between 15 millimeters and 50 millimeters.
- the bond between the layers is obtained according to usual techniques, in particular by heat-bonding.
- FIG. 2 illustrates a part 11 which differs essentially from the part 1 illustrated in FIG. 1 in that it comprises an assembly 20 which differs from the assembly 10 in that the first layer 2 has been replaced by a first layer 12 comprising two superimposed parts 12 ′, 12 ".
- the part 12 ′ could consist of a carpet support (needled coated with full bath of latex for example), in other words, a decorative layer of resistance to the passage of air that is not insignificant, and the 12 "portion of compressed fibers (for example compressed felt).
- the invention is in no way limited to the embodiment which has just been described by way of nonlimiting example.
- the first layer 2, 12 could comprise more than two superimposed parts.
