Claims (6)

  1. Holding device for fixing a protective cage to the shaft of an outboard motor of a boat, characterized by the combination of the following features:
    (a) A ring element (5) that can be arranged around the shaft (1) of the outboard motor and detachably fixed thereto by at least one closure (6), and that features in its cross section the shape of a U profile (11), the opening (12) of which in the horizontal direction faces the center of the ring element (5), and
    (b) at least one projecting part (17) directed radially outwards on the upper edge of the protective cage (13), that can be inserted into the opening (12) of the U profile (11) of the ring element (5) and removed again therefrom, wherein the holding device is made of steel.
  2. Holding device according to claim 1, characterized in that the width of the opening (12) of the ring element U profile (11) is dimensioned such that the projecting part (17) on the upper edge of the protective cage (13) and a guiding plate (16) attached to the shaft (1) of the outboard motor can be arranged one above the other in it.
  3. Holding device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the projecting part (17) on the upper edge of the protective cage (13) is composed of several projecting parts (17) that are formed by small horizontal transverse plates (17) that are respectively attached to the upper edge of profile bars (14) which run from the top to the bottom of the protective cage (13).
  4. Holding device according to claim 3, characterized in that in the use position of the holding device, the ring element (5) in its circumferential direction in the lower leg (11b) of the U profile (11) features recesses (18) that are spaced apart and used to accept the profile bars (14) running from the top to the bottom of the protective cage (13).
  5. Holding device according to one of claims 1, 2 or 4, characterized in that a single projecting part (17) is embodied on the protective cage (13), which projecting part extends continuously across the entire circumference of the upper protective cage edge.
  6. Holding device according to one of claims 1 through 5, characterized in that in the use position of the holding device, the length of the lower leg (11b) of the U profile (11) is shortened by a lengthwise section across the entire circumference of the ring element (5), which lengthwise section corresponds to the horizontal thickness of the profile bars (14) running from the top to the bottom of the protective cage (13) in the area of the ring element (5).
