An arrangement (1) comprising a lockable cover grate (2) and a water removal or drainage channel (3), in particular of concrete or plastic reinforced concrete, wherein the channels have longitudinally extending head profiles (4) of metal which are possibly substantially h-shaped in cross-section, wherein at each longitudinal side the cover grate (2) has at least one downwardly facing fixing means which in the position of use projects downwardly beyond the edge contour of the grate (2) and provided in each head profile (4) is a notch (11) as an engagement opening and the end region (5) of the channel (3) has in that region a notch-shaped recess (12), wherein a downwardly facing limb (13) or projection (6) which projects beyond the edge contour of the grate (2) in the position of use is shaped thereon as the fixing means and the projection (6) or limb (13) is provided with a leaf spring (10, 15) which in the latching position bears clampingly against the underside (4a) of the notched head profile (4),
    characterised in that the leaf spring (10, 15 is narrower than the width of the projection (6) or limb (13), wherein the projection (6) has a receiving groove (7) into which the leaf spring (10) is clamped.
  2. An arrangement according to claim 1 characterised in that the leaf spring (10) clampingly embraces the free lower edge (9) of the groove (7) of the projection (6), is shaped provided with a retaining shoulder (10d) projecting out of the groove (7) and at its upper free end clampingly engages under two limb protrusions (8) formed in the groove of the projection (6), wherein the outer free end (10b) is shaped round in the direction of the projection (6).

An arrangement according to claim 1 characterised in that the leaf spring (15) clampingly embraces the free lower edge (9a) of the limb (13), is shaped provided with a retaining shoulder (15d) projecting beyond the inside surface of the limb and is joined, for example riveted, at its upper end to the limb.
  4. An arrangement according to one of the preceding claims characterised in that the size of the engagement opening (11) in the head profile (4) of the channel is slightly greater in the longitudinal direction than the corresponding extent of the notch-shaped recess (12) in the channel material in such a way that upon displacement of the grate (2) the forces occurring can be transmitted to the channel material and not the head profile (4).
