Abstract

The hand gun has a handgrip (1) grasped by the middle finger, the ring finger and the little finger of the user when the gun is held in the firing position and provided with an extension piece (6) at its base, allowing the length of the handgrip to be increased in the firing position, so that the hand gun has a height (H) of less than 130 mm, e.g. 110 mm, before extension.

Description

The present invention relates to a handgun according to the preamble of claim 1.

A handgun of the aforementioned type is known from US 5 584 136 A. Such a handgun forms a basis for the preamble of claim 1. In the handgun described therein, the handle is designed as a receptacle for a magazine that can be inserted from below into the handle. For the use of long magazines, which project beyond the handle after insertion down, an extension piece is provided, which has a grip similar to the cross section. The extension piece is pushed onto the magazine from above. After inserting the magazine provided with the extension piece in the handle, the top of the extension piece is located on the underside of the handle. The upper side of the extension piece can have a shoulder which can rest on a shoulder in the region of the underside of the grip piece.

Another handgun is known from German patent application DE 195 05 829 A1. The handgun described therein has a handle, which provides at the front three recessed grips for the investment of the middle finger, the ring finger and the little finger of the user. At the rear in the use position of the firearm weapon side of the handle a back part is arranged, which serves to rest the palm of the user. This back part is interchangeable in the aforementioned prior art, so that the handle is adaptable to different requirements or different users.

For some time now so-called compact weapons have been increasingly offered and in demand on the market. Usually, compact weapons are small-sized weapons. Compact weapons are often variants of full-size weapons. Thus, the user can select weapons of different sizes that belong to the same product family. Compact weapons are preferably worn face down and are smaller in size than normal handguns, such as classic military pistols. In particular, such a compact weapon has a shorter barrel, a shorter closure and a smaller in height handle. Such a smaller grip offers the user only attack possibilities for two fingers and not for three fingers. For this reason, such compact weapons can not be kept sufficiently good, so that the accuracy is impaired. Furthermore, in the known compact weapons smaller specially tailored to the size of the handle magazines used, which can accommodate correspondingly fewer cartridges.

The problem underlying the present invention is the creation of a handgun of the type mentioned, which can be better grasped by a user.

This is inventively achieved by a handgun of the type mentioned with the characterizing features of claim 1. The subclaims relate to preferred embodiments of the invention.

A weapon according to the invention may be designed as a compact weapon, wherein it may have a height of less than 130 mm, in particular a height of about 110 mm in the position of use.

This height of about 110 mm can be significantly extended by the extension piece.

According to the invention, it is provided that the hand-held weapon comprises a magazine body, which can be inserted into the grip piece from below in the position of use of the hand-held weapon. By the additional extension piece, which can be arranged on the underside of the handle, can be used in a handgun invention magazine body, which are normally used only in normal pistols and can not be optimally used in the compact weapons on the market. For users, it makes sense to use magazines of full size weapons from the same product family. However, the full size magazines stand out over the short handle of the compact weapons and irritate the user. It looks as if the magazine is not fully inserted into the handle and it accidentally slips out. In addition, the magazine shaft is not closed, whereby there is a risk of ingress of dirt. A handgun according to the invention thus offers the possibility of using commercially available magazines with a significantly larger number of cartridges despite being designed as a compact weapon.

As an alternative to the execution of the handgun as a pistol handgun can also be designed as a drum turret or the like.

According to the present invention, the extension piece is connectable to the handle. The connection of the extension piece and the grip piece can be achieved, for example, by unilateral hooking, pinning or latching on one side and pinning or latching on the opposite side or by sliding on it be realized on a guide or by gluing or by a bayonet lock or by latching. In particular, the detachable of the aforementioned connection methods offer the opportunity to extend the handle if necessary by the extension piece and, for example, for the concealed carrying the compact weapon to remove the extension piece of the handle again.

A hand gun according to the invention, as shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, comprises a grip 1 which is arranged in the weft direction behind a trigger (not shown). The illustrated in Fig. 1 to 4 embodiment of a handgun according to the invention is designed as a pistol, in particular self-defense pistol with a magazine body 5, which is inserted into a corresponding recess of the handle 1. Alternatively, a handgun according to the invention may also be designed as a revolver or the like.

The illustrated in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 embodiment of a handgun according to the invention further comprises an extension piece 6, which is attachable to the underside of the handle 1. When attached to the underside of the handle extension piece 6 (see Fig. 2), the handle 1 is compared to the state with unattached extension piece significantly extended, for example, about 1/5 to 1/3 of its length. The extension piece 6 has, in particular on its front in the position of use of the firearm weapon a recessed grip 7 and on its back in the position of use of the firearm weapon rear side 8. The connection of extension piece 6 with handle 1 can be done in various ways. The lower part of the front of the extension piece 6 in the position of use of the firearm can be shaped such that it merges with the magazine body 5 into the front part of a magazine shoe 9 attached to the underside of the magazine body 5 (see FIG. 4).

In the embodiment of a hand-held weapon according to the invention depicted in FIGS. 3 and 4, the extension piece 6 can not be connected directly to the grip piece 1, but can be attached to the magazine body 5. For this purpose, the extension piece 6 is designed for example as a sleeve, from above (see Fig. 3) the magazine body 5 can be pushed and rests in its end position on the top of the magazine shoe 9.
