- the present invention relates to recessed fluorescent lighting fixtures, and more particularly, to recessed fluorescent lighting fixtures capable of minimizing a thickness by connecting side plates, which have lamp holders, to both sides of a fluorescent lamp frame, of reducing the number of working processes, of fixing the fluorescent lighting fixtures to a ceiling bar without cutting the ceiling bar while easily connecting the adjacent fluorescent lighting fixtures to one another in such a manner that a power supply plug mounted at one end of a fluorescent lighting fixture is inserted into an electric outlet mounted at the other end of the next fluorescent lighting fixture.
- recessed fluorescent lighting fixtures are embedded into a ceiling plate of a building, such as an office.
- FIG. 1 is a sectional view showing a state in which a conventional recessed fluorescent lighting fixture is installed.
- a horizontal ceiling bar 2 and a vertical ceiling bar 3 are installed below a ceiling wall 1.
- the horizontal ceiling bar 2 and the vertical ceiling bar 3 are supported by a hanger bolt 4, and ceiling plates 5 are securedly fixed to the bottom surface of the vertical ceiling bar 3 at regular intervals.
- the recessed fluorescent lighting fixtures 6 are installed at the positions where the ceiling plates 5 are fixed.
- the conventional recessed fluorescent lighting fixtures have a problem in that the positions to install the fluorescent lighting fixtures 6 must be secured by cutting a portion("C" in FIG. 1) of the horizontal ceiling bar 2 so as to fix the fluorescent lighting fixtures to the vertical ceiling bar 3.
- the conventional fluorescent lighting fixture 6 includes right and left side plates formed integrally with a fluorescent lamp frame, and lamp holders 6a connected to the right and left side plates. As additional space 6b is needed to connect wirings to the lamp holders 6a, the height of the fluorescent lighting fixture is increased.
- the recessed fluorescent lighting fixtures are connected to one another in such a manner that they are embedded into a ceiling plate of a building, such as an office in the same manner as in FIG. 6.

- the present invention has been made in view of the problems, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a recessed fluorescent lighting fixture which minimizes the thickness of a fluorescent lamp frame and reduces the number of working processes.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a recessed fluorescent lighting fixture which easily and simply connects power supply cords thereof to each other.
- a recessed fluorescent lighting fixture including: a fluorescent lamp frame opened at right and left longitudinal side ends thereof, the fluorescent lamp frame having a ballast stabilizer and a reflection plate coupled to each other; side caps detachably mounted to the right and left longitudinal side ends of the opened fluorescent lamp frame; and lamp holders formed integrally with the side caps.
- a system for electrically connecting a plurality of recessed fluorescent lighting fixtures embedded in a ceiling plate comprising: a recessed fluorescent lighting fixture including, a fluorescent lamp frame opened at right and left longitudinal side ends thereof, the fluorescent lamp frame having a ballast stabilizer and a reflection plate coupled to each other; side caps detachably mounted to the right and left longitudinal side ends of the opened fluorescent lamp frame; and lamp holders formed integrally with the side caps, an electric plug mounted at one end of the fluorescent lighting fixture; and an electric outlet mounted at the other end of the fluorescent lighting fixture, the electric plug and the electric outlet being connected to each other through a power supply cord installed inside the fluorescent lighting fixture, whereby the plurality of fluorescent lighting fixtures are electrically connected to one another in such a manner that the plug of one fluorescent lighting fixture is inserted into the outlet of the adjacent fluorescent lighting fixture.
- side cap covers may be mounted to the outer side of the side caps.
- the height of the side caps may be equal to the diameter of a lamp.

- the ballast stabilizer 11 is protected by a ballast stabilizer cover 13, and the reflection plate 12 is disposed on the outer surface of the ballast stabilizer cover 13.
- the fluorescent lamp frame 10 includes protrusions 14 formed at both transverse side ends thereof, and the protrusions 14 have coupling holes 14a formed thereon, respectively, to fix the fluorescent lamp frame 10 to the ceiling bar.
- Each of the side caps 20 has a lamp holder 21 formed integrally therewith for connecting a lamp, and coupling portions 22 formed at both side ends thereof, and so, is detachably mounted to both longitudinal side ends of the fluorescent lamp frame 10.
- the height of the side caps 20 is equal to the diameter of the fluorescent lamp.
- the thickness of the fluorescent lighting fixture can be minimized because the problem of a conventional fluorescent lamp frame of securing a space for wirings of the lamp holders is overcome by forming the lamp holders, which are connected to the right and left sides of the fluorescent lamp frame, integrally with the side caps 20.
- the height(L,) of the recessed fluorescent light fixture is about 31mm, and hence, a horizontal ceiling bar can be fixed without being cut.
- the fluorescent lighting fixture can be installed without cutting the horizontal ceiling bar 210.
- the side cap covers 30 are mounted to the outside of the side caps 20 so as not to expose electric wires to the outside.
- the side caps 20 having the lamp holders 21 formed integrally therewith are fixed to the both longitudinal side ends of the fluorescent lamp frame 10, and the side cap covers 30 are mounted to the outer sides of the side caps 20 to prevent the electric wires from being exposed to the outside.
- the ballast stabilizer 11 is mounted on the fluorescent lamp frame 10 along a longitudinal direction of the fluorescent lamp frame 10 and protected by the ballast stabilizer cover 13 put on the outside thereof.
- the reflection plate 12 disposed on the outer surface of the ballast stabilizer cover 13.
- a fluorescent lamp is mounted to the lamp holders 21 in a state in which the reflection plate 12 is disposed on the ballast cover 13.
- the top surface of the fluorescent lighting fixture In order to install the fluorescent lighting fixture assembled as above onto the ceiling, the top surface of the fluorescent lighting fixture must be in close contact with the bottom surface of the horizontal ceiling bar 210.
- the fluorescent lighting fixture can be fixed without cutting the vertical ceiling bar 220 since it has the minimized thickness formed by the side caps 20.

- the plurality of fluorescent lighting fixtures are electrically connected to one another in such a manner that the plug of one fluorescent lighting fixture is inserted into the outlet of the adjacent fluorescent lighting fixture.
- the plurality of fluorescent lighting fixtures are electrically connected to one another in such a manner that the electric plug of one fluorescent lighting fixture is inserted into the electric outlet of the adjacent fluorescent lighting fixture.
- the power supply cords connected to the plug and the outlet are exposed to the outside.
- An auxiliary connection cord for length extension may further be connected between the power supply cords connected to the plug and the outlet.

- each of the fluorescent lighting fixtures 110 has an electric plug 130 with a power supply cord 120 for supplying power source thereto mounted at one end thereof and an electric outlet 140 mounted at the other end thereof. Therefore, the plurality of fluorescent lighting fixtures are electrically connected to one another in such a manner that the electric plug 130 of one fluorescent lighting fixture 110 is inserted into the electric outlet 140 of the adjacent fluorescent lighting fixture 110.
- the power supply cords 120 form a circuit through an electric connection to a socket and the ballast stabilizer (not shown in the drawings).
- the power supply cord 120 connected to the outlet 140 is mounted inside the fluorescent lighting fixture 110, and the power supply cord 120 connected to the plug 130 is exposed to the outside by a predetermined length.
- the aim of this is to easily couple the power supply cord 120 connected to the plug 130 to the outlet 140 so as to electrically connect the fluorescent lighting fixtures 110 installed at the regular intervals to one another.
- FIG. 8 is a view showing another embodiment of the connection structure of the recessed fluorescent lighting fixtures according to the present invention.
- the power supply cord 120 connected to the outlet 140 and the power supply cord 120 connected to the plug 130 are exposed to the outside by the predetermined length, so that the plug 130 and the outlet 140 are coupled to each other easily.
- FIG. 9 is a view showing a further embodiment of the recessed fluorescent lighting fixtures according to the present invention.
- a separate auxiliary connection cord 150 for length extension is connected between the power supply cord 120 connected to the outlet 140 and the power supply cord 120 connected to the plug 130.
- the power supply cord 120 connected to the outlet 140 and the power supply cord 120 connected to the plug 130 are exposed to the outside.
- the outlet 140 and the plug 130 may be mounted inside the fluorescent lighting fixture 110 so as to be connected to each other through the auxiliary connection cord 150.
- the fluorescent lighting fixtures 110 according to the present invention are installed inside the ceiling plates in such a manner as to be spaced apart from each other at regular intervals.
- the fluorescent lighting fixtures 110 are be installed directly without cutting the ceiling bar, and the plug 130 and the outlet 140, which are connected at ends thereof to the power supply cords connected to the fluorescent lighting fixtures 110, are coupled thereto between the adjacent fluorescent lighting fixtures 110.
- the fluorescent lighting fixtures 110 can be easily installed at places of a building, such as an office, requiring lots of fluorescent lighting fixtures.
- louver 210 there are a number of conventional recessed fluorescent lighting fixtures, on which a louver 210 is mounted.
- the louver 210 may be mounted on the recessed fluorescent lighting fixtures according to the present invention having the minimized thickness of a frame or the above power supply cord coupling structure so as to improve reflection and dispersion of light.
- the recessed fluorescent lighting fixtures according to the present invention can minimize the thickness of the fluorescent lighting fixtures by mounting the side caps, which have the lamp holders, at the both sides thereof the fluorescent lamp frame, reduce the number of the working processes by forming the lamp holders integrally with the side caps, and be fixed to the ceiling plates without cutting the ceiling bar.
- the connection between the adjacent fluorescent lighting fixtures is accomplished easily and simply through a separate auxiliary connection cord 150 for length extension having an electric plug mounted at one end thereof and an electric outlet mounted at the other end thereof.
