Claims (6)

  1. Pneumatic fastening device powered by gas or by powder to drive fasteners (21) and thus fasten a part (20) that is to be fastened to a support part, comprising a tip (12) fitted with a bearing shoe (14), characterized in that the said shoe is equipped with a one-piece lateral-positioning plate (15) on which there are created a plurality of distinct lateral bearing surfaces (8, 8', 8", 81, 82, 83) circularly distributed (81, 82, 83) on the lateral-positioning plate and substantially parallel to the axis of the tip and at different distances (Y, Y', Y") from the axis of the tip so that they can be pressed particularly against an edge of one of the parts, either the support part or the part that is to be fastened, the plate being mounted such that it can rotate and held in position under the action of return means (16, 17, 18).
  2. Fastening device according to Claim 1, in which the lateral-positioning plate is fastened to the shoe by indexing (2, 2', 2", 21, 22, 23, 24) on the bearing position of the bearing surfaces of the plate.
  3. Fastening device according to Claim 2, in which indexing is achieved using a click-stop arrangement (18, 2, 2').
  4. Fastening device according to any one of the preceding claims, in which the plate is designed to be able to be mounted on the shoe the other way round (25', 25", Y', Y", 2', 2").
