Description

The invention relates to a device for dispensing a liquid active substance into a rinsing water, in particular into a toilet bowl. From the DE 199 12 217 AI a device for dispensing a liquid drug is known. The document De 199 12 217 is considered to be the closest prior art. This device has a container for receiving the liquid active substance, which has a lower-side opening. This opening is associated with a distributor plate which distributes the liquid active substance emerging from the container over the surface thereof. The distributor plate is surrounded by a sub-frame, over which the active ingredient is discharged together with the rinse water. This known device has proven itself well in practice.

However, it has been found that the active substance drips into the toilet bowl after the rinsing process, which leads to unsightly dripping marks in the toilet bowl, especially in the case of coloring active ingredients.

US 4,168,551 A describes a Toilettenspülwasserstärbemittelvorrichtung, which includes a container for receiving a Spülwasserstärbemittelblocks and at least one inlet opening for the entry of rinse water and an outlet means for discharging discolored rinse water from the container.

EP 1 087 067 A describes a dispenser for the delivery of at least one active ingredient, in particular in the form of a cleaning liquid or a cleaning gel in a toilet bowl.

The invention has the object to improve the aforementioned device to the effect that dripping of the liquid active ingredient is reliably prevented.

This object is achieved with the features of claim 1.

The device according to claim 1 comprises a container receiving a liquid agent. A liquid active substance has the advantage over a solid active substance that it is of constant quality and in particular concentration, so that its effect remains constant over the entire period of use. Fragrances, cleaning agents, preferably in the form of surfactants and colorants, in particular blue colorants, are used as active ingredients Question. These drugs must be added to the rinse water in a certain dosage, so that they can develop their optimal effect.
For this purpose, the opening of the container is in operative connection with a distributor plate, which distributes the active substance as evenly as possible over the surface thereof. In particular when fragrances are used as the active ingredient component, this two-dimensional distribution of the active ingredient ensures efficient evaporation of the fragrance, so that a sufficient amount of fragrance is also released into the ambient air between the individual rinsing operations. Moreover, the distributor plate ensures a correct dosage of the active ingredient for the next flushing process. In general, the active ingredient contains a colorant for dyeing the rinse water, in particular, a blue color of the rinse water is desired, which gives the impression of freshness. In order to prevent the active substance from dripping into the toilet bowl after the rinsing process has ended, which would lead to undesired discoloration of the toilet bowl, the distributor plate is surrounded by a trough which extends over the upper edge thereof. During the rinsing process, the rinsing water is generally washed away on the upper side together with the active substance located on the distributor plate, so that only a part of the rinsing water and of the active ingredient gets into the trough. This is important to prevent rinse water from staying on the distributor plate after the rinse cycle is complete. Optionally, it is also conceivable that the flushing water impinging on the distributor plate passes completely into the tub in the tub. The tub itself has at least one drain, so that they can empty again. In order to avoid unwanted dripping of the liquid contained in the tub after completion of the rinsing process, the drain is equipped with a siphon, which leaves liquid only from a certain level of the tub. The siphon is included preferably designed such that the tub can be almost completely emptied. Dripping rinsing water or active ingredient from the distributor plate into the tub, the siphon holds this liquid back in the tub until the next flushing process. In this meadow, unsightly traces of late dripping in the toilet bowl are reliably prevented.

The distributor plate distributes the active substance by means of capillary channels over its surface. This distributes a reproducible amount of the drug as evenly as possible on the distributor plate. For example, it is intended to form the distribution plate of porous material which absorbs the active ingredient like a sponge.

In the distributor plate at least one opening is provided and can pass through the liquid active ingredient and / or the rinse water in the tub. Preferably, a plurality of apertures are distributed over the distributor plate to ensure effective drainage of the liquid into the pan.

In order to ensure by simple means that the tub is emptied as completely as possible, it is advantageous according to claim 2, when the siphon has a pipe socket which projects beyond the bottom of the tub bottom side.

This pipe socket creates a certain suction on the liquid contained in the tub, so that it is emptied to the lowest point of the siphon. Thus, the tub can then, for example, by dripping from the distributor plate drug or Fill the water up to the highest point of the siphon without liquid leaking out of the siphon.

In principle, any known siphon shape can be used. In order to make the device as simple as possible and therefore inexpensive, the formation of the siphon according to claim 3 has been proven. In this embodiment, the pipe socket dives from below into the tank bottom and is surrounded by a bell. This bell has openings near the floor, so that the liquid contained in the tub can penetrate through the openings in the bell. The openings form the lowest point of the siphon. However, an outflow of this liquid is only possible when the liquid level in the tub reaches to the upper end of the pipe socket.

Since the rinse water arrives in a surge, the liquid level in the tub during the rinsing process will usually extend substantially beyond the upper end of the pipe socket, so that the bell is completely filled with the liquid in this case. This optimally ensures almost complete emptying of the tub. In this embodiment of the siphon of the pipe socket can be straight, which considerably simplifies its production, especially in the injection molding process.

A further simplification of the production of the device results when, according to claim 4, the bell is integrally formed on the trough. This eliminates assembly steps for installing the bell in the tub. In the production of the tub by injection molding, this may optionally be formed together with the bell without or with only minor undercuts, so that no cores must be drawn during their production. The pipe socket is created in this case as a separate part and held positively on the tub.

For this purpose, slight undercuts are required on the pipe socket-carrying part and on the tub, which, however, are unproblematic injection molding.

In order to determine the trough on the distributor plate, a frictional connection has proven itself according to claim 6. This is particularly easy to manufacture, especially since no undercuts are required. As a rule, this compound is additionally solidified by the active substance deposited thereon, so that a firm retention of the trough on the distributor plate results without further measures.

In order to prevent that the active ingredient can flow freely into the tub, it is favorable according to claim 7, when the opening in the distributor plate is dimensioned such that it can be passed by the active ingredient only in the diluted state by the rinse water. Thus, the applied on the distributor plate drug is maintained between the rinses, which is particularly important for fragrance components contained in the active ingredient.

Alternatively or additionally, it is advantageous according to claim 8, when formed between the pan and the distributor plate an opening through which the active ingredient or the rinse water can get into the tub. This opening is preferably arranged in the corner region of the distributor plate, so that it can not unfavorably influence the holding action of the trough on the distributor plate.

A preferred embodiment of the capillary channels results from claim 9. In this case, grooves or slots are formed in the surface of the distributor plate, which form the capillary channels. This has the advantage that the distributor plate can be made of the same material as the trough, which considerably simplifies the production of the entire device.

If the capillary channels are formed by slots of the distributor plate, then it is advantageous according to claim 10, if these simultaneously form the openings in order to guide the active ingredient or the rinse water into the trough. In this case, can be dispensed with additional openings of the distributor plate.

In the formation of the capillary channels in the form of grooves of the distributor plate, it is expedient according to claim 11 to provide the openings in the distributor plate in the region between the grooves in order to prevent an uncontrolled flow of the active ingredient into the trough.

Finally, it is advantageous according to claim 12, when the distributor plate, the tub and / or the siphon are made of a thermoplastic polymer, in particular polyethylene. Such a polymer can be very easily processed by injection molding, which makes the production of the device overall cost.

A device 1 for dispensing the liquid active ingredient 2 in a toilet bowl according to FIG. 1 has a container 3 for receiving the liquid active substance 2. The container 3 is preferably made of a transparent polymer in order to easily check the liquid level of the active substance 2 in the container 3. The container 3 is inserted in a housing 4, which allows a simple replacement of the container 3. This is particularly necessary when the active ingredient 2 is consumed in the container 3.

The device 1 also has a distributor plate 5, which receives the liquid active substance 2 and distributed as evenly as possible over the surface thereof. This distributor plate 5 has a number of capillary channels 6, which are formed in the form of grooves 6. alternative
the capillary channels 6 could also be formed by the distributor plate 5 completely penetrating slots.

In order to prevent liquid active substance 2 or rinse water present on the distributor plate 5 from dripping into the toilet bowl after the rinsing process, the distributor plate 5 is arranged inside a trough 7. This trough 7 can basically be shaped in any desired manner, it only being necessary to ensure that the trough 7 projects beyond an upper edge 8 of the distributor plate 5 on all sides. In addition, the distributor plate 5 has a plurality of apertures 9, through which flushing water located on the distributor plate 5, in which the active ingredient 2 is partially dissolved, can flow into the trough 7.

In order to prevent the tub 7 overflows by constant intake of rinse water and active ingredient 2, this is provided with a drain 10.

The further description of the device 1 is based on the sectional views according to the FIGS. 2 and 3 , The drain 10 is formed by a siphon 11, by which a dripping of the active ingredient 2 is to be prevented from the tub 7 after completion of the rinsing process. This siphon 11 is formed by a pipe socket 12 and a bell 14 which includes its upper end 13. The bell 14 is integrally formed on the trough 7 in order to simplify their production. Between the bell 14 and the tub bottom 15 are openings 16 which allow the liquid contained in the tub 7 to penetrate into the space inside the bell 14. These Openings 16 are arranged at the level of the trough bottom 15 and they form the lowest point of the siphon 11. This ensures that the trough 7 can be completely emptied via the siphon 11.

The upper end 13 of the pipe socket 12 forms the highest point of the siphon, which must overcome the leaking from the tub 7 liquid. The pipe socket 12 extends beyond the lower end 17 of the siphon 11 addition, so that when emptying the tub 7 on the liquid contained therein, a force is exerted, which lifts them to over the upper end 13 of the pipe socket 12. Thus, the tub 7 is emptied after flushing not only up to the top 13 of the pipe socket 12, but up to the height of the openings 16 of the bell 14 and thus to the tub bottom 15.

Then drips further active ingredient 2 through the opening 9 in the trough 7, so the siphon 11 prevents the escape of this liquid from the trough 7. Only when the liquid level extends over the upper end 13 of the pipe socket 12, the trough 7 via the Siphon 11 be emptied again. A dripping of the drug 2 in the toilet bowl is therefore reliably prevented between rinses.

From the FIG. 2 In addition, the structure of the housing 4 can be seen. On the housing 4, a ring 18 is formed, which comprises a neck 19 of the container 3. The connection between the ring 18 and the neck 19 is designed such that between the two air may occur to Substance 2 removed from the container 3 is to be replaced, but the rinsing water is kept away from the container 3. In this way it is prevented that the active ingredient 2 in the container 3 is diluted by entering rinse water.

On the distributor plate 5, a mandrel 20 is formed, which breaks a closure 21 of the container 3 along a predetermined breaking point. In this way, the container 3 is opened immediately upon insertion into the housing 4, whereby accidental leakage of the active substance 2 is prevented before inserting the container 3 in the housing 4. The closure 21 in this case has a density which is less than the density of the active ingredient 2, so that it floats and the formed opening 22 of the container 3 can no longer hinder.

In order to fix the distributor plate 5 on the housing 4, the distributor plate 5 holding clips 23, which engage in corresponding recesses of the housing 4.

FIG. 4 shows an alternative embodiment of the device 1 according to FIG. 1 from above, wherein like reference numerals designate like parts. In this embodiment, the distributor plate 5 is shaped such that a slot-shaped opening 24 forms in its corner region, through which the active substance 2 or the rinsing water located on the distributor plate 5 can reach the trough 7.

In addition, the distributor plate 5 has capillary channels 25 in the form of slots 25 through which the active substance 2 passes the distributor plate 5 is distributed. These slots 25 are formed such that the undiluted active substance 2 is held in the slots 25. Once the active ingredient 2 is diluted by rinsing water, however, the capillary action of the slots 25 is no longer sufficient, so that the active ingredient 2 enters the trough 7 from there via the siphon 10 into the toilet bowl.

Since some embodiments of the present invention are not shown or described, it is to be understood that a variety of changes and modifications of these described embodiments are possible without departing from the essential spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the claims.
