Definitions
- the present invention relates to a sports shoe with lacing upper high comprising a semi-rigid internal part surrounding the heel, the ankle and partially the foot and an external part relatively flexible, surrounding the internal part.
- a shoe of this type is known from US Pat. No. 3,807,062.
- This shoe the internal and external parts are molded.
- the part internal is intended to give a certain rigidity to the shoe, while the outer part, molded around the inner part, is generally flexible.
- the internal part on each side at the level of the malleolus of the foot, cutouts extending backwards. If the effect sought, namely the flexibility of the upper of the shoe forward is well obtained, an undesirable effect is also obtained, namely a transverse swelling of the shoe in the area where the bending. This swelling has the effect of reducing the holding of the foot in the shoe.
- the invention aims to avoid swelling of the shoe in forward bending without the need for an auxiliary frame.
- the sports shoe according to the invention is characterized in that the internal part includes a first part surrounding the heel and the ankle and having, in the lacing zone extending over the foot, a cut of width substantially greater than the width of the lacing area and, at the instep, on each side of this area, two rounded cutouts extending towards the rear of the rod in the purpose of allowing forward bending of this first part and a second part occupying said cuts and delimiting the area of lacing, the second part being less rigid than the first part and preformed at least in the areas occupying said cutouts of the first part, so as to cause a tightening of the second part in the preformed areas, when bending the leg forward.
- the first part and the second part can be done in one composite material comprising two layers of felt linked by a mixture comprising ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) and polyethylene (PE).
- EVA ethylene vinyl acetate
- PE polyethylene
- the thickness of the felt layers of the first part can be greater than the thickness of the felt layers of the second part.
- the external part is mainly in leather and the internal part is fixed, for example by seam, on the outside.
- the force exerted by the lacing on the rod is advantageously at least essentially supported by the internal part, so that the leather is not requested.
- FIG. 1 is a front view, oblique, of a surf shoe, tongue folded forward.
- Figure 2 is a rear view of the inner part of the shoe shown in Figure 1.
- Figure 3 is a 3 ⁇ 4 front view of the same internal part.
- the upper of the shoe shown in the figure consists of a external part 1 essentially in leather and an internal part 2 in semi-rigid synthetic material on which the leather is fixed by seams, such as seams 3.
- the upper Towards the front, the upper has a large cutout 4 occupied by a tongue 5 fixed to the rod in one point near the front end of the foot.
- the tongue On each side until in the instep region, the tongue is further connected to the upper by a waterproof impregnated fabric forming a bellows and ensuring the tightness of the shoe at the level of the cutout 4.
- the shoe comprises besides a plastic sole 6 injected on the upper.
- the shoe is finally provided with a lacing 7 tightening the shoe to fabric loops 8 in the lacing area on the foot and by means of plastic loops 9 in the area upper lacing from the instep.
- the internal part 2 is represented in FIGS. 2 and 3. It is presented itself in the form of a semi-rigid boot made essentially of a first material 21 surrounding the heel, partially the foot and the lower leg, and of a second material 22. A the front, this internal part is closed and reinforced by a piece 23 relatively rigid hood-shaped.
- Materials 21 and 22 include two layers of felt bonded with a mixture of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) and polyethylene (PE).
- the first composite material 21 comprises layers of felt of 1.8 mm thick.
- the second composite material includes layers of felt 1.3 mm thick.
- the second material is, by therefore, less rigid than the first.
- the front and / or back of composite materials can be coated with the mixture allowing tie the layers of felt.
- These composite materials have the advantage of not absorbing moisture.
- the part made with the first material 21 is made from of panels formed and joined by seams 24 and 25. Both materials 21 and 22 are also fastened together by seams 26.
- the part formed of material 21 has cutouts 27 extending backwards, these cutouts being intended to give flexibility to the boot in forward bending. Going towards the front of the boot, the cutouts 27 are followed by a very large notch extending into the area located on the foot. We see in the drawing that the cutouts 27, and the wide notch which follows, are occupied by the material 22. This material 22 is preformed, at least in the instep area, i.e. in the cutout area 27, so that when the boot is bent forward, zones 27 tend to get closer instead of moving away as is usually the case of a shoe. This has the effect of improving the holding of the foot in bending instead of reducing it.
- the loops 8 are fixed exclusively to the material 22 by rivets 10. As for the passers-by 9, they are fixed through the leather to the material 21 by rivets 11. When tightening the lace, there is therefore no effort on the leather.
