Description

The invention relates to a viewing means for viewing a product stream, in particular for separating to be processed and non-processed portions of a product stream within a distributor device for feeding a cigarette rod machine, wherein the viewing means is formed as a substantially vertically oriented zig-zag separator and at least one Has access for the product stream to be viewed.

Des weiteren befaßt sich die Erfindung mit einem Verfahren zum Sichten eines Produktstroms, Mit den Merkmalen des Oberbegriffes des Anspruches 9.Furthermore, the invention is concerned with a method for sifting a product stream, having the features of the preamble of claim 9.

In the production or formation of cigarette rods in cigarette rod making machines, a product stream which is usually formed from a plurality of components is supplied to the cigarette rod maker via a distributor device. Within the distributor device the product flow is sighted and metered. By sizing is meant the separation of portions suitable for processing, such as e.g. The so-called "desired" tobacco fraction, and portions which are unsuitable for processing, e.g. Ribs of tobacco leaves or the like. This sighting takes place within a visual range of the visual means. In this case, the introduced via an access in the visual means product flow is spotted by air, namely sorted into the suitable and suitable for processing components.

Ein Beispiel eines bekannten Zick-Zack-Sichter is in US-A-3624748 offenbart. An example of a known zigzag sifter is disclosed in US-A-3624748.

In known viewing means, the product stream is entered into the distributor device. The product stream is usually supplied to a tobacco reservoir within the distributor device via a pre-distributor and from there fed to the viewing means by means of an addition roller, a steep conveyor or the like. Prior to passing the product stream into the viewing means via access, a singulation roller causes the product stream to fall into a downwardly leading feed chute, directly and directly into the area of access.

However, such devices have the disadvantage that the product flow is fed directly from the "free fall", ie from a movement, the sight. The product stream is fed through the separating roller even accelerated the zig-zag separator. As a result, on the one hand the orderly and continuous supply to and into the visual means difficult. On the other hand, such an uneven feed of the product flow leads to unsatisfactory visual results. Also, the product stream can accumulate in the access area, so that the access for the inflowing product flow is closed.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide an apparatus which is capable of improving and simplifying the feeding of the product stream to the viewing means and the sighting of the product stream in the visual means. Furthermore, it is an object of the invention to propose a method that ensures a reliable feeding and sifting of the product stream.

This object is achieved by a visual means of the type mentioned above in that in the region of access an insertion aid for the product flow is arranged in the zig-zag sifter, so that the product flow calmed immediately before insertion into the visual means is. By means of this insertion aid, it is possible in a surprisingly simple and particularly effective manner to calm and homogenize the product stream immediately before it enters the zigzag sifter, so that the product stream is guided uniformly and continuously into the zigzag sifter and within Zig-zag sifter can be sighted reliably and trouble-free.

Advantageously, the insertion is designed as a role, so that the product flow is actively and evenly conveyed in the zig-zag sifter. This also prevents one Damming of parts of the product flow in the area of access, so that the continuous and trouble-free operation of the viewing means and thus the entire distribution device is ensured.

In a further advantageous embodiment, the insertion aid comprises a guide element, wherein the guide element is arranged in the transport direction of the product flow in front of the access or the roller. This guiding element calms down the product stream prior to entry. In other words, the free fall of the product stream is quenched prior to access to the zig-zag sifter by the product stream impinges on the guide element and is thereby calmed, so that a uniform and continuous supply is ensured in the zig-zag sifter.

Advantageously, the distance between the guide element and the lower side wall is greater than the distance between the upper side wall and the lower side wall. As a result, a kind of additional funnel effect is achieved, which calms the product flow even better and in particular directs purposefully into the access.

Furthermore, the object is achieved by a method having the features of claim 9. By calming the product stream, which can also be referred to as deceleration, a continuous and uniform supply of the product stream is ensured in the visual means. Damming of parts of the product stream or even segregation, ie an undesired separation of individual components of the product stream can be effectively prevented.

The zig-zag classifiers shown in the figures are used to view a product stream, preferably a product stream consisting predominantly of tobacco components, within a distributor device for feeding a cigarette rod machine.

The viewing means 10 according to the embodiment of Figure 1 is designed as a so-called zig-zag classifier 11 and part of a distributor device only partially shown. The zigzag sifter 11 is arranged substantially vertically within the distributor device. The zig-zag classifier 11 has an access 12 for inputting a product stream. Alternatively, several accesses are conceivable. The access 12 is formed by side walls, namely an upper side wall 13 and a lower side wall 14, which in turn form an opening 15. For this purpose, the upper side wall 13 is almost perpendicular to the lower side wall 14, and with a distance B, so that the product flow can be performed in the zig-zag classifier 11.

In the transport direction of the product flow from a tobacco reservoir, not shown, to the zigzag sifter 11, a feed chute 16 is arranged in front of it, which adjoins a separating roller 17 or the like connects. The feed chute 16 is funnel-shaped, such that the feed chute 16 tapers in the direction of the access 12. At the narrowest point between the upper side wall 13 and the lower side wall 14, ie in the region of the access 12, an additional insertion aid 18 is arranged. The insertion aid 18 is designed as a roller 19. This roller 19 is rotatably mounted on a frame, a housing wall or the like and can also be driven in rotation by means of a drive, not shown. The access 12, so the opening 15 is then formed in this embodiment between the roller 19 and the lower side wall 14, so that the product flow inevitably flows past the roller 19. The position of the roller 19 is changeable. Thereby, the width of the access 12 and the opening 15 is variable and adapt to the respective product flow. Instead of the roller 19 and other funding can be used. Various embodiments will be explained below.

In Fig. 3, e.g. an insertion aid 18 is shown, which is designed as a rotary valve 26. By means of the rotary valve 26, the zig-zag classifier 11 is at least in the region of the access 12 airtight sealable. This means that the rotary valve 26 prevents leakage of air from the zigzag sifter 11 in the region of the access 12 and a suction of ambient air through the access 12 in the zigzag sifter 11. In a further embodiment according to FIG. 4, the insertion aid 18 is a roller or a roller 27. In contrast to the roller 19, which has a virtually smooth surface, the roller 27 has a structured surface. Protrusions 28 and recesses 29 are provided on the surface of the roller 27 to enhance the transport of the product stream through the access 12 into the zigzag sifter 11. Particularly advantageous is the formation of the insertion aid 18 as a nail roller 30 or the like (see, for example, Figure 5). By the pointed, nail-like projections 31, the entrainment and thus the transport of the product stream, such as tobacco, reliably ensured. Furthermore, by the embodiment shown, e.g. so-called tobacco nests are dissolved, resulting in an additional homogenization of the product stream.

Alternatively or cumulatively to a roller 19, 27 or to a nail roller 30, the insertion aid 18 may also comprise a belt conveyor element 32. In Figure 6 is a Embodiment shown in which the belt conveyor element 32 comprises a single lower conveyor belt 33. The conveyor belt 33 is drivable by means of a drive, not shown, and in the area of and simultaneously forming the access 12 in the zig-zag classifier 11. The belt conveyor element 32 may also comprise two conveyor belts, namely the lower conveyor belt 33 and a spaced apart from the lower (not shown) upper conveyor belt. Both conveyor belts then form the access 12 in the region of an opening in the zigzag sifter 11. The embodiment according to FIG. 7 provides a nozzle element 34 as an insertion aid 18. The nozzle member 34 may be formed as a nozzle bar, slot nozzle or the like and serves for the contactless transport of the product stream through the access 12 in the zig-zag classifier 11. This ensures that the product stream, namely, for example, the tobacco is not destroyed.

The embodiment according to Figure 2 is substantially the same as that shown in Figure 1, so that the same reference numerals are used for the same parts. However, the sight 18 as an insertion aid 18 an additional guide element 20. The guide element 20 extends substantially parallel to the upper side wall 13. The distance between the side wall 13 and the guide element 20 is adjustable. For this purpose, the guide element 20 is e.g. detachably arranged on support elements 21, which have slots 22. A free end 23 of the guide element 20 is provided as well as a free end 24 of the upper side wall 13 at a distance A to the lower side wall 14. The distance A for forming an opening 25 between the guide element 20 and the lower side wall 14 is preferably greater than the distance B to form the opening 15 between the upper side wall 13 and the lower side wall 14. Thus, on the one hand, the funnel shape is reinforced. On the other hand, a gradual "deceleration" or calming of the product flow is generated. As a result, the product flow in the region of the access 12, that is to say below the upper side wall 13, is already calmed down on the lower side wall 14.

The guide element 20 is formed approximately triangular in side view. By provided on the side facing away from the upper side wall 13 of the guide element 20 slope of the impinging on the guide element 20 product flow is passed into the region of the opening 25, to then be promoted stepwise to access 12.

It is also conceivable that further stages are provided, for example in the form of further in the transport direction of the product stream serially arranged guide elements. In a further, not shown embodiment, the two embodiments according to Figures 1 and 2 may also be combined. This means that the insertion aid 18 is formed from at least one additional guide element 20 and a roller 19 in the region of the access 12. The roller 19 may have a textured surface such that the product stream to be delivered can be safely "gripped". For this purpose, the roller 19 grooves, furrows or other elevations and depressions.

The method of sifting a product stream is described below:
The product stream is usually conducted from a reservoir or reservoir by means of an addition roller or a steep conveyor from a reservoir to the visual means. In the direction of transport of the product stream in front of the viewing means, the separating roller 17 ensures that the tobacco accelerates into the downwardly leading feed chute 16. In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, the tobacco then falls onto the roller 19 or into the area between roller 19 and lower side wall 14, which slows down the free fall, so that the product flow is initially calmed. Subsequently, the product flow in the region of the access 12 is actively guided by the roller 19 into the zigzag sifter 11. There is also the possibility that the rotation of the roller 19 is generated by the impinging on the roller 19 product flow. The described method ensures uniform and continuous feeding of the product stream consisting of tobacco components and possibly additional components into the zigzag sifter 11.

In the embodiment of Figure 2, the tobacco falls into the feed chute 16 and at least largely strikes the guide element 20 and slips from there into the opening 25 between the guide element 20 and lower side wall 14. Thus, the free fall of the tobacco is first braked, which leads to a reassurance. The then lying on the lower side wall 14 tobacco is then passed through the opening 15 in the zig-zag classifier 11. Characterized in that the product stream is not passed directly from the feed chute 16 coming into the zig-zag classifier 11, but before the Introducing a uniform, continuous and smoothly flowing product flow prevents buildup while ensuring reliable sighting.
