Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an articulated bracelet with links arranged to interpenetrate in the longitudinal direction and connected by transverse axes of articulation (see EP-A-1048 240 ).
  • bracelets of this kind including watchbands in which at least some transverse series of adjacent links are removable to allow to change the length of the bracelet depending on the size of the wrist wearer of this bracelet.
  • these transverse series of removable links are assembled by screws which are visible on the edge of the bracelet.
  • the other transverse series of links are connected by pins driven into the side links, to allow them to pivot relative to the central links.
  • the patent CH-558 153 is relative to an articulated bracelet comprising links integral with a transverse articulation rod which projects at one end of the link and which does not extend over its entire width.
  • This rod is inserted into a housing opening on the underside of the adjacent link and held in place by a spring locking member.
  • the screws are replaced by a spring.
  • such a spring could hardly be in the same metal as the bracelet.
  • this fastener must have an opening to allow disassembly and therefore retains a functional and non-decorative, giving it an aspect whose aesthetic does not integrate not the rest of the bracelet.
  • a bracelet comprising two rows of lateral links, each integral with a half-axis which ends with a head adjacent to a groove.
  • Two intermediate links are arranged between these side links and a central link.
  • the intermediate links have two parallel passages with transverse axes, one of which is intended to receive a half axis leaving the head and the adjacent groove.
  • the central fastening link has a longitudinal recess whose section is of complementary shape to that of the two heads of the two half-axes.
  • the longitudinal recess opens at one end and has two lateral slots whose width corresponds to the diameter of the grooves adjacent to the heads of the half-shafts.
  • the two half-shafts are engaged in the respective passages of two intermediate links, then the two heads of the half-shafts are introduced into the longitudinal recess from its open end.
  • Each pair of intermediate side links is slid longitudinally until the other passages of the intermediate links coincide with the passage of the central link.
  • a pivot rod is then introduced through the two passages, so that all the links constituting the bracelet are articulated around two axes.
  • the object of the present invention is an articulated bracelet with links in which no assembly element is visible on any face, even a lateral face of links which is located inside the bracelet.
  • the object of this invention is also to have as little as possible, or even no screw connection element, to avoid any risk of unscrewing a screw not sufficiently tight.
  • this invention relates to an articulated link bracelet according to claim 1.
  • each modular element makes it possible, by immobilizing in rotation the two parts of the modular assembly around the median transverse axis, to axially lock the transverse articulation rod between the lateral faces facing inwards.
  • the transverse hinge rods are free, so that their wear resulting from the oscillation of the two modular elements around it is reduced to a minimum.
  • the bracelet according to the invention is formed of a succession of modular assemblies 1 similar, articulated to each other, one of which is illustrated before assembly by the figure 1 .
  • This modular assembly comprises five adjacent links 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 in the transverse direction of the bracelet, each of them forming part of one of the five longitudinal rows of links forming the bracelet.
  • These links 2-6 occupy alternately two longitudinal positions and are connected to each other by a first median transverse axis 7 which passes freely through transverse guide openings 3a, 4a, 5a of links 3-5 and whose two ends are driven into blind holes 2a, 6a formed in the internal lateral faces of the two lateral links 2 and 6.
  • the two lateral links 2, 6 and the central link 4 are aligned in one of the two longitudinal positions, while the two links 3, 5 are aligned transversely in the second longitudinal position and form two projections which are intended to penetrate into two re-entrant parts of an adjacent modular assembly, formed between the three links 2, 4 and 6.
  • These two links 3, 5 and the central link 4 each comprise a second transverse guide opening 3b, respectively 4b, 5b which passes through their respective offset portions relative to the median transverse axis 7 and all three at the same distance from this axis.
  • One of the links 3, 5 is integral with the adjacent lateral link 2 or 6, while the other of these links 3, 5 is integral with the central link 4.
  • three links are integral with the median transverse axis 7 and form a first part of the modular assembly 1.
  • the other two links 4 and 3 or 5 are integral with each other and form a second part of the modular assembly 1, but are free to rotate about the median transverse axis 7.
  • the two pairs of adjacent links integral with each other can be made from two pieces welded or fixed in any other suitable manner to one another.
  • These two pairs of integral links could also be directly constituted each of a single piece, giving then only the appearance of being made from two pieces assembled.
  • the bracelet obtained gives the appearance of being formed of five longitudinal rows of links alternately offset in the longitudinal direction, to simplify the explanations, they will be considered as two solidarity links, even if in reality they are directly formed of a single piece.
  • this transverse opening 4b placed as illustrated on the figure 2 the link 4 can be brought between the links 3 'and 5' of the modular element 1 'which is located at the front end of the strap portion to which the modular element 1 must be added. 4b of the link 4 must be aligned with the openings 3'b, 5'b of the links 3 ', 5' of the modular element 1 ', which allows the establishment of a transverse articulation rod 8, as illustrated by the figure 3 .
  • the transverse articulation rod 8 engaged in the transverse openings 3'b, 5'b of the links 3 'and 5', it makes the two parts, that formed of the integral links 3, 4 of a part and the one formed of the links 2, 5, 6 integral with the axis 7 on the other hand, integral with each other, so that the modular element 1 then forms an element with all the links are integral from each other, only the transverse hinge rod 8 ensuring the articulation of the two adjacent modular assemblies 1, 1 '.
  • the bracelet can be disassembled, but still starting from the end by which the assembly of the modular assemblies 1, 1 ', ..., has ended.
  • a connecting member 9 which includes a passage 10 intended to receive a fastening bar (not shown) to the horns of a box. shows (not shown) between which the connecting member 9 is adjusted, the width of this connecting member 9 corresponding to the spacing between the horns of the box and its face 9a adjacent to the outer face of the box conforming to the contour of the latter, so that when the bar disposed in the passage 10 is fixed to the horns of the box, the connecting member 9 becomes integral with the latter.
  • This connecting member 9 comprises two projections 13 and 15 whose shape, spacing and dimensions correspond the links 3, 5 of a modular assembly 1, but these projections 13, 15 are integral with the connecting member.
  • the central link 4 of a modular assembly 1 can be introduced between the two projections 13, 15 and fixed to these projections by a transverse articulation rod 8 identical to that connecting all the modular assemblies 1, 1 ', ..., between them, passing through the transverse opening 4b of the central link 4 and coaxial openings 13b, 15b passing through the projections 13, respectively 15.
  • the modular assemblies 1, 1 ', .. ., following can be added by linking them to each other as described previously in relation to the Figures 2-4 .
  • the last transverse articulation rod 8 intended in the case of a wristwatch, to connect the bracelet to a clasp, will be advantageously constituted, according to a first variant, as illustrated by the figure 6 , by a spring bar 18 of known type, which passes through the openings 3b, 5b of the links 3, respectively 5.
  • This spring bar has at least one end 18a formed by a piston slidably mounted relative to the barrel body 18 which encloses a coil spring (not visible) which exerts a constant axial pressure on the piston 18a tending to get it out of the barrel body 18.
  • the other end 18b of this bar 18, which can also be formed by a sliding piston , is introduced into a housing 16 of a fastener-shaped link 6 * integral with a blade 14 of a folding clasp 17.
  • the bottom of this housing 16 ends with a blind hole (not visible) wherein the end 18b of the bar 18 engages.
  • An axial pressure exerted on the other end 18a makes it possible to return the piston or pistons integral with the ends 18a, 18b in the body of the bar 18 until an annular abutment 18c, respectively 18d abuts against the barrel body 18.
  • the shortened length of the bar 18 then allows to engage the other end 18a in a housing 12 of a fastener-shaped link 2 * secured to the blade 14 of the clasp 17.
  • By releasing the axial pressure on the bar 18 its end 18a engages in a blind hole located at the bottom of the housing 12, thus achieving the detachable attachment of the bracelet to the clasp 17.
  • Each housing 16, 12 opens laterally on the lower face (that turned against the wearer's arm) links 2 *, 6 * integral with the blade 14 of the clasp 17 to allow access to the annular stops 18c, 18d in order axially retract the piston or pistons 18a, 18b of the bar to detach the bracelet clasp 17.
  • the bracelet grows from one end towards the other end.
  • the variant illustrated by the figure 8 shows how it is possible to grow or shorten the bracelet according to the invention from its two ends. It is enough for this to have two modular assemblies 1, the mirror symmetry with respect to each other on both sides of a transverse axis of the bracelet, with their two links aligned transversely 3, 5, respectively 3 ', 5 'turned towards the ends of the bracelet, as illustrated by the figure 8 . Then these two modular assemblies are connected by two independent links 3 *, 5 * arranged between the lateral links 2, 6 and the central link 4 of the modular assembly 1 and between the lateral links 2 ', 6' and the central link 4 'of the modular assembly 1'.
  • FIGS 9 and 10 show a variant of a connecting element 19 shaped to be housed between the horns (not shown) of a watch case, to connect one end of the bracelet, in particular according to the variant of the figure 8 at this watch box.
  • this connecting element 19 is designed in two parts 19a, 19b pivotable relative to each other about a transverse pivot rod 20.
  • the ends of this transverse articulation rod are fluted and driven in two respective housings of two lateral links 21, 22 integral with the part 19b.
  • the portion 19a comprises three elements 23, 24 and 25 assembled by a transverse rod 26 driven.
  • the part 19b comprises four elements 21, 22, 27, 28 assembled by two rods, 20, 29. Since the element 24 of the part 19a is pivotally mounted around the central part of the transverse articulation rod 20, the two parts 19a, 19b can pivot relative to each other, to tilt the element 24 to extend the transverse passage 24b of its portion 24a of the internal space delimited by the internal side walls of the links 21, 22 to bring this passage between the two transversely aligned links 3, 5 of a modular assembly 1, for example that of the figure 8 , in order to introduce the transverse articulation rod 8 through the transverse passages 3b, 24b, 5b of these three links 3, 24a and 5.
  • the locking of the two parts 19a, 19b around the transverse pivot rod 20 is performed when a bar (not shown) is introduced through the transverse passages 27c, 28c, 25c, 24c, 26c and 23c aligned on the axis of this bar, whose two ends are housed, in the usual way, in appropriate openings in the inner side faces of these horns.
  • the transverse articulation rod 8 between the last modular assembly 1 and the connecting element 19 abuts at its two ends against the inner lateral faces of the lateral links 21, 22 of the connecting element 19 and is thus locked.
  • each modular assembly 31, 31 ', 31 “comprises two parts 32, 33 arranged in mirror symmetry with respect to a median longitudinal axis of the bracelet, each part 32, 33 comprising two links 34, 35, respectively 36, 37, formed here in one piece, so that these parts each comprise an inner portion formed by the links 35, respectively 36 and an outer portion, formed by the links 34, 37 respectively.
  • the two inner portions 35, 36 are connected independently of one another to the median transverse axis 38 by two tubular elements 39, 40 whose length corresponds to the transverse dimension of each inner portion 35, 36.
  • These tubular elements 39, 40 preferably have corrugated outer surfaces and are driven into openings 35a, respectively 36a (not visible) portions 35, respectively 36.
  • These tubular elements 39, 40 are retained axially on the median transverse axis by riveting to both ends of this axis.
  • a transverse articulation rod 41 is driven into an opening 34a formed in the internal lateral face of one of the outer portions 34, 37 of each modular assembly 31, 31 ', 31 "and its length is chosen so that the end free of the transverse articulation rod 41 does not exceed the inner lateral face of the outer portion 37, opposite that 34 in which the rod 41 is fixed.
  • the establishment of the axes 41 of the modular assemblies 31, 31 ', 31 "causes the immobilization of the two parts 32, 33 of these modular assemblies and the locking of the transverse rods 41 between the two outer portions 34, 37 of the two parts 32, 33, of these modular assemblies 31, 31 ', 31 ", as and when successive assembly of these modular assemblies from left to right in the example described.
  • the two inner portions 35, 36 of each modular assembly are also locked on these transverse rods 41 between the two inner lateral faces of the outer portions 34, 37 of the adjacent modular assembly.
