Such partition wall arrangements are already well known to those skilled in the art. A typical example of such a known partition wall arrangement is shown in Fig. 1 in a perspective view obliquely from above. The partition wall arrangement shown consists of a first partition wall element 102 and a second partition wall element 104, which are arranged at a right angle to each other and are fixedly connected to each other by a vertical connecting element 106 for this purpose. As shown in Fig. 1, a partition wall member 102, 104 consists of a frame construction 108 which can be supported on feet 110 of different types, as well as a partition panel 112 made of an opaque, partially transparent or transparent material held substantially vertically in the frame structure 108. The frame construction 108 contains, in particular, two vertical clamping rails, between which the partition wall plate 112 is held. The clamping rails each have on their side facing away from the lateral end faces of the partition wall plate 112 sides a vertical groove into which the vertical connecting element 106 can be inserted with corresponding counter-elements or a panel for completing the partition wall assembly. Finally, via a suitable attachment to the vertical clamping rails on the partition wall element 102, 104 and various shelf elements 114, such as shelves, magazine shelves or the like can be attached.

The vertical connecting member 106 of the conventional type serves the fixed connection between the first and the second partition member 102, 104, wherein either a right-angled or rectilinear arrangement of the two partition elements can be chosen. Of course, further partition wall elements can also be connected to the illustrated partition wall arrangement. With such a partition wall arrangement, individual workplaces can be separated from one another, for example, in open-plan offices, the partition wall arrangements in this case serving, in particular, as privacy screens and the attachment of shelf elements, as shown. In particular, when using stand devices of the partition wall elements with rollers, it is possible to form a mobile partition wall arrangement which can be used flexibly and variably.

In today's world of work, there is an increasing need to form teams for different tasks, which, on the one hand, have a variable composition according to requirements and, on the other hand, sometimes have to come together at short notice. For this purpose, it would be desirable, for example, in a large office to separate a particular area at very short notice by a partition wall arrangement, for example, to be able to carry out a team meeting relatively undisturbed. Following this team meeting, the divider assembly should then be easily dismantled and stowed again. Despite the existing mobility of the conventional partition assemblies there is a need to further increase the mobility and flexibility of the partition assembly to ensure this multi-functionality of the partition assembly can.

From US Pat. No. 5,450,694 a partition wall assembly is known on which the preamble of claim 1 is based. In particular, this partition wall arrangement with a special connecting element between a partition wall element and another partition wall element or other object which extends in the vertical direction substantially over the entire height of the partition wall element and is formed elastically deformable in both directions perpendicular to the connecting direction and the vertical direction so that a flexible arrangement of the partition wall arrangement results.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a further partition wall assembly of the type described above, which ensures a high flexibility of its applications.

This object is achieved by a partition wall assembly having the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments and modifications of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.

The connecting element for a partition wall assembly for connection between a partition wall element and another partition wall element or other object extends in the vertical direction substantially over the entire height of the partition wall element and is formed in both directions perpendicular to the connecting direction and the vertical direction elastically deformable.

By existing in both directions elastic deformability of the connecting element not only rectangular or rectilinear partition wall assemblies can be built, but there are almost any arrangements of the partition elements in a variety of angular constellations possible. As a result, flexibility in the applications of the partition wall assembly is achieved, as is not possible with the conventional fasteners.

In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the connection, the connecting element is formed so elastically deformable that the connecting element can form an arc of about 180 °. In this way, a partition wall assembly of several partition wall elements can be folded so to speak and is thus stowed in a small space when it is no longer needed.

The connecting element is constructed according to the invention from a plurality of first vertical components and a plurality of second vertical components, which are arranged alternately to each other. At least the second vertical components are formed from an elastic material. Advantageously, the first and the second vertical components form an integral or one-piece component. The first and second vertical components may be formed of the same material, but preferably the first vertical components are formed of a hard plastic material and the second vertical components are formed of a soft plastic material which can be co-molded, for example, by a 2K extrusion process , By forming the first and the second vertical component of a hard and a soft plastic material can be achieved simultaneously a vertical stiffness of the connecting element and the desired elastic deformability of the connecting element. For one-component fasteners From a single elastic material, in particular with very high partition wall arrangements, there is the possibility that the associated vertical instability leads to a misalignment of the partition wall elements. Nevertheless, such one-component fasteners also fulfill the above-mentioned objects of the invention.

In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the second vertical components are narrower in the direction of the elastic deformability of the connecting element than the first vertical components. In addition, the edges of the first vertical component facing the second vertical components are at least partially obliquely formed such that the length of the first vertical components is smaller in the direction of connection of the connecting element on its outer side than in the middle. This special embodiment of the first and the second vertical components, the elastic deformability of the connecting element is ensured in a simple manner and it can, for example, the desired arcs of about 180 ° are formed with the connecting element.

The vertical components can be designed both as a solid profile and as a hollow profile in a variety of cross-sectional shapes.

In a further embodiment of the invention, one end of the connecting element in the connecting direction of the connecting element is designed such that it can be received in a vertical groove of a vertical clamping rail of a partition wall element. Advantageously, both ends of the connecting element are formed in the connecting direction of the connecting element in this way.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the other end of the connecting element in the connecting direction of the connecting element is designed such that it can be received in a vertical groove of a vertical coupling element, which can be attached to another object such as a shelf element. It is advantageous in this case to design the vertical coupling element similar to the vertical clamping rail of a partition wall element, so that the connecting elements can be formed uniformly and simultaneously used flexibly. The vertical coupling element can for example be clamped by means of at least one pipe clamp on the other object, wherein the at least one pipe clamp is firmly connected to the vertical coupling element.

A connecting element formed in accordance with the invention can advantageously be combined in a connecting device as a first connecting element with at least one second connecting element in order to achieve a higher torsional rigidity of the dividing wall arrangement, in particular in the case of high partitions. The second connecting element is fixed to the partition wall element and the further partition wall element or the other object and substantially inelastisch formed such that there is a movement of the partition wall element with respect to the further partition wall element or the other object between a rectilinear first position in which the end faces the partition wall element and the further partition wall element or the other object facing each other, and a second position in which the partition wall element and the further partition wall element or the other object are pivoted to each other, allows. The second connection element fulfills the task of vertical stabilization of the partition wall arrangement, but without restricting the degrees of freedom of movement of the first connection element.

In one embodiment of the invention, the second connecting element has two crosswise arranged rigid arms, for example made of metal, whose ends are rotatably supported at the end facing the partition wall element and at the end of the second connecting element facing the further partition wall element or the other object. The second connecting element is constructed as a scissor hinge.

The attachment of the second connecting element takes place on a vertical clamping rail of the partition wall element or a vertical coupling element of the other object by means of a screw connection, e.g. with screws or a clamp connection e.g. with clamps.

Preferably, a second connecting element is provided in the upper end region of the partition wall element, a further second connecting element is provided in the lower end region of the partition wall element and the first connecting element is provided between the two second connecting elements.

With the connecting element constructed in this way or the connection device constructed in accordance with the invention, a partition wall arrangement having at least two partition wall elements can be constructed. The partition wall arrangement can also be connected to another object by means of the connecting element or the connecting device, such as a shelf member or the like, wherein the vertical coupling member of the connecting member is attached to, for example, a support post of the shelf member.

Preferred embodiments of the present invention will be explained in more detail with reference to FIGS. 2 to 7. Therein, the same components and elements are provided with the same reference numerals throughout.

The partition wall assembly 10 consists of a plurality of partition wall elements 12, which are connected by means of connecting elements 14 according to the invention both with each other and with a shelf element 16. As clearly seen in the plan view of Fig. 2, the connecting elements 14 are formed in both directions perpendicular to the connecting direction and the vertical direction elastically deformable. In particular, the connecting elements 14 can be elastically deformable such that the connecting elements can form an arc of up to approximately 180 °. In this way, the partition wall elements 12 can, so to speak, be folded together and pushed parallel to the shelf element 16. In this way, the partition wall assembly 10 can be stowed with minimal space requirements and can be rebuilt at any time in almost any arrangement. With the connecting elements 14 according to the invention thus a great flexibility of the applications of the partition assembly 10 is ensured, as it is increasingly required in today's workplace.

Although the partition wall assembly 10 is shown in Fig. 2 in conjunction with a shelf member 16, the partition wall assembly 10 in the context of the present invention, of course, be used separately in almost any angle configurations between the individual partition wall elements 12. Instead of the connection of the partition wall assembly 10 to a shelf element 16, the partition wall assembly, for example, by means of the coupling element explained later, be attached to a building wall or a building support.

The partition wall elements 12 can basically be constructed like conventional partition wall elements. In particular, the partition wall elements 12 have a frame construction in which at least one partition wall plate is held and which is supported on a suitable stand device. To facilitate the mobility and flexibility of the partition assembly 10, the stand apparatus is preferably formed of one or more stands with rollers.

The structure of the connecting element 14 according to the invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the enlarged view of Fig. 3, wherein Fig. 3 shows the connecting element 14 in its rectilinearly extended state.

In particular, the frame construction of the partition wall elements 12 has in each case two vertical clamping rails 18, between which the at least one partition wall plate 20 (indicated by dotted lines in FIG. 3). The vertical clamping rails 18 are usually made as a profile body made of a light metal such as aluminum. The vertical clamping rails 18 each have on their side facing away from the lateral end faces of the partition plates 20 side a vertical groove 22, wherein the opening of the vertical groove 22 is smaller than the width of the cavity formed by the groove, as shown in Fig. 3.

In the preferred embodiment, the connecting element 14 consists of a plurality of first vertical components 24 and a plurality of second vertical components 26. The first and the second vertical components 24, 26 are provided alternately to one another in the connecting direction of the connecting element. To achieve the desired elastic deformability of the connecting element, at least the second vertical components 26 are formed from an elastic material.

In experiments, it has been found to be particularly suitable to form the first vertical components 24 from a hard plastic material and the second vertical components 26 from a soft plastic material. For example, the first and second vertical components 24, 26 may be co-formed by a 2K extrusion process to form an integral component. When selecting the materials of the vertical components 24, 26, it is important to ensure that the two plastic materials have a similar melting point, so that they are irreversibly connected or fused together during the extrusion process. Since the extrusion process and also the 2-component extrusion process have long been known to the person skilled in the art of plastics technology, a detailed explanation thereof will be omitted here.

,The formation of the fastener 14 from first vertical components 24 of hard plastic material and second vertical components 26 of soft plastic material formed by the 2K extrusion process is the presently preferred embodiment of the invention. However, the invention is not limited to this specific embodiment; rather, the two vertical components 24 and 26 may be formed from the same elastic material, for example. This embodiment would also achieve the desired effect of the elastic deformability of the connecting element 14, however, the connecting element would be slightly unstable in the vertical direction, so that there is a slight misalignment of the partition wall elements 12, especially at high partitions can. The desired elastic deformability of the connecting element and at the same time a vertical stiffness is achieved according to current knowledge only by the construction of the connecting element 14 by two vertical components 24 and 26 of different hardness, as described above. Alternatively, of course, other material combinations in addition to the mentioned soft and hard plastic component are conceivable. In order to increase the torsional rigidity of the partition wall arrangement, in particular with high partition walls, the connecting element 14 may preferably be combined with at least one second connecting element, as explained below. In combination with the second connecting element, the vertical rigidity of the connecting element 14 with the two vertical components 24, 26 made of the same elastic material is then sufficient. .

As also clearly seen in the plan view of Fig. 3, the second vertical components 26 of the connecting element 14 are in the direction of elastic deformability, i. formed perpendicular to the connecting direction of the connecting element 14, narrower than the first vertical components 24. In addition, the edges of the first vertical components 24 facing the second vertical components 26 are formed at least partially obliquely, so that the length of the first vertical components 24 in the connecting direction of the connecting element is smaller on the outside than in the middle. By this construction of the first and the second vertical components 24, 26, the elastic deformability of the connecting element 14 is further increased, so that with the connecting element 14, for example, arcs of up to about 180 ° can be formed, as shown in Fig. 2 , In a connecting element 14 constructed in this way, when the connecting element 14 is elastically deformed, the second vertical components 26 are deformed due to their softer material properties, so that the first vertical components 24 can be moved towards each other until adjacent first vertical components 24 with their edges on the Inside the deformation of the connecting element 14 abut each other. The dimensioning and precise design of the mutually facing edges of the first vertical components 24 will be readily adapted to the skilled person the desired applications. In particular, these dimensions and shapes also depend on the selected materials of the first and second vertical components 24 and 26.

While the first vertical components 24 of the connecting element in the illustrated embodiment of Fig. 3 are formed as a solid profile in a substantially rectangular cross-sectional shape, are also other in this regard Forms of training possible. 4 shows various examples of possible embodiments of the first vertical components 24 of the connecting element as a hollow profile. The first vertical components 24 can be both a solid profile and a hollow profile, for example in a flat hexagonal shape (FIG. 4 a), a rectangular shape (FIG. 4 b), a circular shape (FIG. 4 c), an oval shape (FIG. 4 d) or a flat hexagonal shape with rounded edges (Fig. 4e) are formed. However, those skilled in the art will readily appreciate other possible cross-sectional shapes of the first and second vertical components of the connector.

The connection of the vertically extending connecting element 14 to a partition wall element 12 is as follows. The ends of the connecting member 14 in the connecting direction of the connecting member are formed so that they can be accommodated in the vertical groove 22 of a vertical clamping rail 18 of a partition wall member 12, respectively, as shown in FIG. In particular, the end of the connecting element 14 has a connection profile 28, which can be inserted into the vertical groove 22 of the vertical clamping rail 18. The connection profile 28 in this case has a first region 28a, which is slightly narrower than the opening of the vertical groove 22, and a second region 28b, which is narrower than the cavity formed by the vertical groove 22 but wider than the opening of the vertical groove 22, on, as illustrated in Fig. 3. In this way, the connecting element 14 is fixedly connected to the partition wall element 12 and fixed both in the direction transverse to the connecting element 14 and in the connecting direction of the connecting element in the clamping rail 18 and its groove 22.

In order to ensure a privacy by the partition wall assembly 10 in the region of the connecting element 14, the connecting element 14 including its connection profile 28 extends substantially over the entire height of the partition element 12. In addition, the entire connecting element 14 is preferably formed of an opaque material, so that the intended by the partition assembly 10 intended privacy in the area of the connections between the individual partition elements 12 is ensured.

As already described with reference to FIG. 2, with the connecting elements 14 according to the invention, not only two partition wall elements 12 can be connected to one another, but the connecting element 14 can also serve as a connection between a partition wall element 12 and another object such as a shelf element 16. With reference to FIG. 5, such a connection with a shelf member 16 by means of the connecting element 14 of the present invention explained.

In order to simplify the manufacture of the connecting element 14 and to require only one type of connecting element 14, the end of the connecting element 14 in the connecting direction of the connecting element for connection to a shelf element 16 is formed in the same manner as for connection to a partition wall element 12. However, this is of course not absolutely necessary in the context of the present invention, but advantageous.

The connecting element 14 is connected by means of the final connection profile 28 with a vertically extending coupling element 30, the structure of which substantially corresponds to a vertical clamping rail of a partition wall element 12. In particular, the coupling element 30 also consists of a profile sheet 18 ', which has a vertically extending groove 22' on the side facing the connecting element 14. This vertical groove 22 'is, as shown in Fig. 5, formed analogous to the vertical groove 22 of a clamping rail 18 of a partition member 12 so that the connection profile 28 of the connecting member 14 in the groove 22' can be inserted and a fixed and in position fixed connection between the connecting element 14 and the coupling element 30 causes.

The coupling element 30 is fastened, for example, to a vertical support post 32 of the shelf element 16. The attachment is made, for example via at least one pipe clamp 34 which is arranged around the support post 32 around and is contracted by means of a connecting block 36 in a known manner to exert a clamping force on the support post 32 of the pipe clamp 34. The connecting block 36 is received in a pipe clamp 34 facing recess 37 and fixed in position. On the end facing away from the pipe clamp 34, the connecting block 36 has a threaded bore 38, which is associated with a corresponding bore 40 in the profiled sheet 18 'of the coupling element 30. The attachment of the coupling element 30 on the support post 32 is carried out after the attachment of at least one pipe clamp 34 on the support post by a screw (not shown) which engages through the bore 40 in the profile sheet 18 'in the threaded bore 38 of the connecting block 36 of the pipe clamp 34.

By a suitable adaptation of the coupling elements 30, the partition wall assembly 10 by means of a connecting element 14 of the present invention Of course, be connected with other objects. For example, the connection to shelf elements 16 with support posts with a square cross section or the connection to a building wall is conceivable.

As explained above, with the aid of the connecting element 14 according to the invention, the flexible and variable construction of dividing wall arrangements 10 is possible, wherein the dividing wall arrangements 10 can also be stowed in a very small space. The inventive design of the connecting element 14 in particular allows the arrangement of partition wall elements in almost any angle to each other. In addition, the connecting element of the invention is designed so that it allows an opaque connection between partition elements. In addition, the integral construction of the connecting element, preferably by a 2K extrusion process with first vertical components of a hard plastic material and second vertical components of a soft plastic material, makes the manufacture and handling of the connecting element relatively easy.

As already mentioned above, the present invention also includes the combination of a (first) connecting element described above with at least one second connecting element. Such a connecting device will now be explained in more detail with reference to FIGS. 6A, 6B and 7.

The connecting device for connection between a partition wall element 12 and another partition wall element 12 or other article 16 includes a connecting element constructed as described above as the first connecting element 14 and at least one second connecting element 42. In a preferred embodiment, the connecting device contains a second connecting element 42 in the upper end region of the partition wall element 12, which preferably does not protrude beyond the upper edge of the partition wall element 12, and another second connection element 42 in the lower end region of the partition wall element 12, which preferably does not protrude beyond the lower edge of the partition wall element 12, as shown in the side view of FIG , The elastic first connecting element 14, which is not shown in FIG. 7, is arranged in the vertical direction between the two second connecting elements 42, thus extending in the vertical direction over substantially the entire height of the partition wall element 12.

The second connecting element 42 is, for example, by means of a screw 48 or a clamping connection (clamping block) on the partition wall element 12 and a vertical clamping rail 18 (omitted for simplicity in Figs. 6 and 7) of the partition wall element 12 or attached to another article 16 or vertical coupling element 30 to the other article 16.

The second connecting element 42 itself has two rigid, inelastic arms 44 and 46, for example made of metal. These two arms 44, 46 are, as shown particularly in the plan view of Fig. 6A, arranged crosswise and also, as seen especially in the side view of Fig. 7, arranged one above the other. Each arm 44, 46 is rotatably supported at its two ends about a rotational axis 44a, 44b and 46a, 46b. The two arms 44 and 46 themselves are not interconnected, i. not fixed in their mutual position. The second connecting element 42 is thus constructed in the manner of a scissor hinge.

This construction of the second connection element 42 allows movement of the partition wall element 12 with respect to the further partition wall element 12 or the other object 16 between a first position of FIG. 6A, in which the end faces of the partition wall element 12 and the further partition wall element 12 and of the other object 16, respectively are facing, ie a rectilinear partition arrangement, and a second position of Fig. 6B, in which the partition wall element 12 and the further partition wall element 12 and the other object 16 are pivoted to each other. Fig. 6B shows an extreme second position in which the partition assembly 10 is folded together, i. the individual partition wall elements 12 are arranged parallel to one another. Due to the special inelastic construction of the second connector 42, the vertical torsional stiffness of the partition assembly 10 is significantly increased, i. a misalignment of adjacent partition elements 12 excluded.

The second connecting element 42 is preferably formed of metal and therefore as a separate component of the first connecting element 14. However, it is also possible to form the second connecting element 42 made of a plastic and in one piece with the first connecting element. It is also conceivable to connect the first and the second connecting element 14, 42 as a unit with each other.
