Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for packaging and dispensing fluid, and more particularly to a new device for packaging and dispensing fluid, liquid or pasty product, of the type comprising a flexible bag placed in a rigid container, associated with a pump or a valve, ensuring the storage of the fluid product in the absence of air and its distribution in good conditions of efficiency.
  • Container-type fluid dispensing and dispensing devices are well known. These devices generally comprise a rigid-shell container in which is placed a retractable flexible bag, which retracts as the product is extracted.
  • the expulsion of the product out of the bag can be obtained by means of an "airless" pump or without air intake, or under the pressure of a propellant gas acting in the bottle on the wall of the bag.
  • a vent is provided, generally in the bottom or in the neck of the bottle, to allow the outside air to penetrate in the space between the bottle and the bag with each actuation of the pump and thus allow the bag to retract while maintaining a sufficient pressure on its walls.
  • An embodiment according to this technique is described in the patent FR 2.723.356 relating to a device comprising a flexible plastic bag, such as polyethylene or polypropylene, in a rigid container whose neck has an air inlet.
  • the difficulties encountered in this technique are often related to the folds that can form the wall of the bag during its retraction, which can limit the efficiency of the fluid distribution by forming product retention volumes, and the difficulty of ensure a satisfactory seal of the pocket to preserve the integrity of the product contained therein.
  • the products contained in the bags are often sensitive to oxidation under the action of oxygen in the air and can degrade if air is introduced into the pocket. Sealing defects are often encountered at the junction of the bag and the pump. They can also result from a certain porosity of the materials used for the realization of the pocket.
  • the folds formed by the wall of the bag during its retraction may cause tears likely to let air which then reaches the product in the pocket.
  • a pocket bottle is described in the patent FR 2.770.834 , which relates to a device for preventing the piercing and tearing of the bag during its emptying.
  • the bag made of flexible material such as plastic or aluminum foil, contains a free float preventing excessive shrinkage of the bag and thus limiting the risk of tearing.
  • the aluminum bags are made in the form of superimposed sheets, welded by their edge, generally adapting to a neck or a rigid ring connecting the pump, or the valve, and the rigid container.
  • the manufacture of such pockets is relatively simple, and various mentions and drawings can be printed easily, but this system has the disadvantage that the sheet, before filling, has a flattened shape, requiring the use of complex tools specially adapted to introduce the product. Filling operations generally involve having to first empty the ladle before proceeding to a partial filling, then to operate in a last step under neutral gas.
  • Plastic bags for example polyethylene or polypropylene as described in the patent application WO 97.09124 , make it possible to simplify the operation of filling the bag, but do not guarantee a satisfactory seal that may be suitable for packaging very fragile products degrading in contact with the air. Or extrusion techniques or extrusion blow molding used for the manufacture of such plastic bags are totally unsuitable for pockets with one or more metal sheets. In addition, it is difficult to obtain and maintain a good seal of the edges of the metal foils, for example aluminum because of the deformations and the tensions to which they are subjected during use.
  • the present invention specifically relates to a device for packaging and dispensing fluid, liquid or pasty product, of the type comprising a sealed flexible bag placed in a rigid container, associated with a pump or a valve, ensuring a very good ease of filling pocket without the need for complex or specially adapted tools.
  • the invention also relates to a device for packaging and dispensing fluid product of the type comprising a sealed flexible pouch placed in a rigid container, ensuring perfect packaging of the product by means of an excellent seal of the bag.
  • the fluid product conditioning and dispensing device is of the type comprising a sealed flexible bag placed in a rigid container, associated with a pump or a valve, and is distinguished in that the bag comprises a cylindrical wall constituted by at least one metal sheet or plastic sheet wound in a cylinder whose edges have flanges, the bag being as defined in claim 1.
  • the cylindrical pocket comprises a multilayer complex associating several metal films or a metal film, preferably aluminum, coated with a plastic film on at least one of its faces.
  • This multilayer complex is wound on two flanges made of metal or plastic.
  • a particularly advantageous embodiment comprises an aluminum sheet interposed between two plastic films.
  • the plastic films used in the multilayer complexes may be selected from polyethylene, polypropylene, polyamide, and the like.
  • the multilayer sheet is fixed by its edges to the periphery of each flange, and closed along a generatrix of the cylinder.
  • Such multilayer composite coating is particularly useful when a tight seal is essential, or when the nature of the product in the pocket requires.
  • an aluminum foil wound on two metal or plastic flanges may be used, two opposite edges of the sheet being welded to one another along a generatrix of the cylinder.
  • the multilayer film is a plastic / barrier polymer / plastic material complex, and for example an EVOH film interposed between two polyethylene or polypropylene films.
  • EVOH is an ethylene vinyl alcohol polymer with good gas barrier properties, particularly oxygen and water vapor.
  • the metal sheet, or the multilayer sheet is fixed on the periphery of each of the two flanges, preferably by gluing or welding, depending on the nature of the material used for the flanges.
  • One of the two flanges forms a solid disc and constitutes the bottom of the pocket, while the other has an opening and serves as a fixing ring, on the one hand to the rigid bottle, on the other hand to the pump or the valve used for the extraction of the product contained in the pocket.
  • the opening in the flange ring is preferably axial, but it can be deported, depending on the shape of the cylinder and the desired effects.
  • the cylinder formed by the metal sheet, or the multilayer complex, and the two flanges is preferably a straight cylinder with a circular section, the flanges then being in the form of circular disks, but other shapes can be produced without difficulty, and by for example, the flanges may have an elliptical shape, or any continuous or polygonal shape, depending on the desired aesthetic effect or imposed by the shape of the rigid bottle.
  • the two flanges preferably have the same shape to facilitate the attachment of the metal sheet, but where appropriate they may have a different shape, or a homothetic shape.
  • the flanges may be metal or made of plastic, for example by molding. he is also it is possible to give the flange forming the bottom a recessed shape at its center, the flange then having a toric shape, whose central opening can be closed by the film of the cylindrical wall, or another film.
  • the manufacture of the cylindrical pocket is carried out by means of a conventional apparatus for winding a metal sheet, plastic or multilayer, by its edges on the periphery of the two flanges held on the same axis one in front of the other.
  • the sheet is cut to the desired length, corresponding to the circumference of the flanges increased by a length sufficient to allow closure by edge-to-edge welding, after gluing the side edges to the periphery of the flanges.
  • the pocket bottle according to the present invention has the advantage of being easily filled without the need for complex tools, unlike conventional aluminum bags. According to the present invention, the filling can be carried out with standard tools, by simple gravity, which ensures a very good regularity of filling. In addition, the great freedom of shape of the pocket makes it easy to adapt it to rigid bottles of various shapes.
  • the rate of return of the product that is to say the ratio between the volume of product introduced into the bag during filling and the volume extracted during use , is excellent, superior to 90%, and superior to that generally obtained with conventional flat pockets.
  • the pouch Due to its cylindrical shape resting on the two rigid flanges, during its use and extraction of the product contained therein, the pouch does not crease as in the case of flat aluminum pouches, but retracts regularly, limiting the risk of cracking or tearing. In addition, the number of welds is limited compared to a conventional aluminum pocket, and the reliability of the pocket is improved.
  • the bag can be assembled to the bottle without prior folding, and therefore without risk of deterioration of its sealing qualities.
  • the assembly of the bag in the bottle can be performed at high rates.
  • the pocket (1) shown on the Figure 1 comprises a cylindrical wall (2) constituted by an aluminum sheet wound on the two flanges (3) and (4).
  • the lower flange (3) has the form of a solid disc (5) with a raised edge forming an annular surface (6) on which is fixed the edge of the sheet (2) by gluing.
  • the upper flange (4) has the shape of a ring traversed at its center by an orifice (7) and having a raised edge forming an annular surface (8) on which is glued the other edge of the sheet (2), limited by a rim (9) of diameter slightly greater than that of the cylindrical wall (2).
  • the two edges (2 ', 2 ") of the aluminum foil (2), cut to the desired length, are welded to one another along a generatrix of the cylinder, after bonding the two side edges (2a , 2b) on the annular surfaces, (6) and (8) respectively, flanges.
  • the bag (1) is introduced into a cylindrical bottle (10) as shown in FIG. Figure 4 .
  • the edge (9) of the ring (4) is snapped into a groove (11) formed in the inner surface of the wall (12) of the rigid bottle.
  • a pump (13) completed by a pusher (14) is sealingly mounted on the neck of the pocket (1).
  • the seal can be provided in the usual manner, for example by means of an annular seal (15).
  • a pressure on the pusher (14) causes the output of a dose by the nozzle (16), causing a retraction of the bag (1).
  • a vent in the bottle allows the outside air to enter the volume between the vial (10) and the pocket (1) and the pocket to retract as the pusher is actuated. (14).
  • the pocket used in the device of the Figure 4 comprises a flange (3) whose bottom is recessed, the opening being masked by an aluminum sheet (17) improving the flexibility of the pocket (1).
