    the end sections (10, 12) of the sleeve (6; 36; 46) are directed in opposite directions to one another in the circumferential direction, in that the cloth engaging means (14) on the at least one end section (10, 12) is arranged on the outer circumferential side of the sleeve (6; 36; 46), in that the sleeve (6; 36; 46) has such a preformed shape and such resilient properties that the sleeve (6; 36; 46) can be expanded by the core (8), counter to its spring stressing, to an increased diameter, at which the cloth engaging means (14) grips the cloth (4), and in that by moving the core (8) relative to the sleeve (6; 36; 46) the sleeve can be slackened to a reduced diameter at which the cloth engaging means (14) releases the cloth and the sleeve can be removed axially from the cloth roll.
  2. Driveable cloth winding roller according to Claim 1,
    characterized in that,
    by inserting the core (8) into the sleeve, the sleeve (6; 36; 46) can be expanded to its increased diameter counter to its spring stressing, and in that, by axially removing the core from the sleeve, the sleeve can automatically contract to its reduced diameter by its inherent spring stressing.
  3. Driveable cloth winding roller according to one of the preceding claims,
