Definitions
- the invention relates to a method and a device for the electronic handling of buying and selling transactions, the so-called electronic commerce, using public communication networks, in particular the Internet, according to the preamble of patent claims 1 and 8, respectively.
- US 5,794,221 shows an accounting process using the Internet.
- an agreement between an Internet provider and the customer and, on the other hand, a corresponding regulation between the provider and the seller or service provider is assumed.
- the provider declares that he will invoice the customer and that he will responsible for the seller or service provider.
- the provider himself creates network access for the customer.
- the transaction information between seller and customer is sent to the provider, who then carries out the corresponding activities such as billing and forwarding of the payment amount received.
- the provider receives a commission for the use of the services by the provider.
- An advantage of the known solution is that it is not necessary for the customer to have to give the account number or the like personal data to the seller, as a result of which an undesired temporary presence of this amount of data in the hardly controllable Internet is ruled out
- the object of the invention is achieved with a method as defined in claim 1 and with a device for performing the method according to the features of claim 8.
- the basic idea of the invention is accordingly, starting from a communication-capable terminal with display or monitor, in particular a personal computer, to order goods and / or services via the Internet via an access node and to compensate these goods and / or services electronically on the payment side, wherein the communication-capable terminal handles the order data transfer via a switching center.
- the access to the Internet from the switching center is interrupted at least briefly and a menu-based billing access to the switching center of the telecommunications network operator is set up and / or set up.
- the order can then be entered on the invoice side in the respective terminal-related telephony account file via the usual handling of the services for the use of the telecommunications network and then settled later.
- a PIN personnel. Is designed before the order and invoice data are recorded in the telephony account file
- the order and invoice data are stored, for example, in a separate memory area of the telephony account file, it being possible for additional data, such as information on the date and / or the specific type of the goods or the service, to be recorded.
- the order and invoice data storage can be coded. It is also conceivable to encrypt the output of the data on a conventional telephony bill, e.g. to be provided based on product or service codes.
- Confirmation protocols are generated automatically from the recorded and stored order and invoice data and are transmitted to the service provider via the Internet in a manner known per se.
- the confirmation logs do not contain any security-relevant information such as the PIN, a credit card account number or the like.
- a data connection to the telephony data acquisition computer which is usually located at the switching center, is established by means of the personal computer, the menu also being active during the online state of the Personal computers and access to the Internet can be activated, so that the user is already able to activate a menu bar or open the corresponding menu when accessing a homepage of a service provider, and then, if desired, to initiate payment processing. it is automatically ensured that the Internet access is interrupted or the firewall security measure is activated at the relevant moment.
- the order data is first downloaded to the end device, namely the personal computer, via the Internet and the order is registered with the service provider. Then the m separate connection is the The amount of invoice data belonging to the order is transferred from the terminal device of the memory to the switching center and recorded there in a debit file after authentication. The debtor registration is then sent to the service provider together with an identification identifier as confirmation.
- a communication-capable terminal with a display is provided to carry out the method and is connected to a switching center via the telephone network.
- the exchange establishes access to an Internet access computer (provider) via a corresponding data line.
- the exchange contains an internode module, which converts telephony data received during data transfer between the Internet access computer and the terminal device into a format suitable for display display or storage in the personal computer or terminal device, but also also records m derived from the Internet data transfer device an exchange format is transformed.
- the internode module creates a kind of symbiosis between telephony traffic and digital data transfer.
- the figure shows a schematic diagram of access to the Internet from a personal computer.
- the terminal in particular a PC 1, is connected to the public telephone network via a suitable modem or an interface.
- a switching center 3 is provided, which both sets up calls selected by telephone number and records call times for later billing.
- the Internet access computer 4 now enables access to the Internet symbolically represented by the reference symbol 5.
- internode module 6 which enables the performance of conventional telephone systems to be combined with the possibilities of Internet-capable personal computers.
- the internode creates the possibility for network operators and users to systematically use their existing infrastructure such as lines or switching systems for the World Wide Web.
- the order data transfer is carried out via the switching center when using Internet services.
- Such a claim can be, for example, ordering goods or services.
- the access from the switching center 3 via the access computer 4, or access to the Internet is briefly interrupted or blocked for incoming data in order to optimize security.
- Computer 1 is then set up or set up a menu-based billing access to switching center 3 in order to then use the usual handling of the services for the use of the telecommunication networks, e.g. the call data acquisition, the order entry in a corresponding terminal-related telephony account file on the invoice side or to process the payment.
- the usual handling of the services for the use of the telecommunication networks e.g. the call data acquisition, the order entry in a corresponding terminal-related telephony account file on the invoice side or to process the payment.
- the order and invoice data are stored in a separate memory area of the telephony account file in the exchange or in a computer located there.
- the user who has used the Internet service via the personal computer 1 then receives with the e.g. monthly telephone bill a request for payment for the goods ordered or services used.
- the order and invoice data which are stored in the switching center 3 or a computer located there, then serve for the automatic creation of a confirmation protocol which is communicated to the service provider via the Internet.
- This notification can be made immediately after the order, but also at times when there is little traffic, so that the operator of the public telephone network 2 only incurs low additional costs.
- the personal computer 1 activates a menu item or a menu after the call and confirmation of authenticity and a connection to the exchange, ie a data connection to the telephony data acquisition computer, is established.
- the menu can also be activated while the personal computer is online and currently accessing the Internet. the, however, the transfer of order data with the consequence of the creation of invoice data is only carried out after disconnection of the internet connection.
- the order data can first be loaded onto the personal computer 1 via the Internet and the order can be registered with the service provider. Subsequently, with a separate connection, the invoice data belonging to the order are then transferred from the personal computer 1 to the switching center 3 and, after a further authenticity check, recorded in a debit file. The customer entry is again confirmed separately by means of an identification identifier hm for the service provider.
- the operator on the exchange e.g. the telephone company ensures that the invoice is sent to the service provider or supplier after payment has been received.
- the solution presented has the advantage that security-relevant personal data no longer have to be transmitted via the public Internet, which brings about significant advantages with regard to security in payment transactions and the trust of users and customers in the payment system.
