Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé pour affranchir et traiter des envois, caractérisé par les étapes suivantes : un client expéditeur transmet des informations concernant des envois prévus, y compris les données du destinataire, à un service d'expédition et déclenche un processus pour le paiement des frais ; après acceptation du processus pour le paiement des frais, le service d'expédition génère un numéro d'affranchissement pour chaque envoi annoncé, ce numéro d'affranchissement n'étant valable que pour une période spécifiée et ne nécessitant par conséquent qu'un nombre de positions limité ; le service d'expédition mémorise le numéro d'affranchissement avec les données du destinataire dans une base de données d'affranchissement consultable ; le service d'expédition transmet les numéros d'affranchissement au client expéditeur ; ce dernier applique ces numéros sur les envois concernés ; les données du destinataire et les numéros d'affranchissement des envois remis sont lus et une recherche est effectuée dans la base de données d'affranchissement ; une fois une entrée correspondante trouvée, le traitement de l'envoi se poursuit et l'entrée est invalidée. Ce procédé, qui offre un niveau de sécurité suffisant, est peu contraignant en ce qui concerne l'application et la lecture des numéros d'affranchissement ainsi que le déroulement de l'affranchissement, et par conséquent particulièrement peu complexe.
