Claims (40)

  1. Sealing device (10) for the lateral sealing of at least one positive pressure or vacuum zone adjoining a moving surface (12) in a paper machine, having at least one sealing element (20) which is opposite the moving surface (12), is mounted via a joint (22) such that it can be pivoted and, in order to bear on the moving surface (12) by means of appropriate pivoting, can be acted on with a pressing force (FP), characterized in that the joint (22) and, with the latter, the pivot axis (26) can be adjusted towards and away from the moving surface (12), in particular in the direction of the pressing force (FP), and can be fixed in its respective position.
  2. Sealing device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the joint (22) is formed on a strip (28) which is adjustable and can be fixed in its respective position.
  3. Sealing device according to Claim 2, characterized in that the strip (28) extends transversely with respect to the running direction (L) of the moving surface (12).
  4. Sealing device according to Claim 2 or 3, characterized in that the strip (28) can be fixed to a support (36).
  5. Sealing device according to one of Claims 2 to 4, characterized in that the strip can be fixed in its respective position by a clamping device (54).
  6. Sealing device according to Claim 5, characterized in that the clamping device (54) comprises at least one piston (56) and/or at least one pressure hose (58).
  7. Sealing device according to one of Claims 2 to 6, characterized in that the strip (28) is provided with spacers (64) and can be adjusted into an end position, in which these spacers (64) bear on the moving surface (12) and therefore define a predefinable position of the joint relative to the moving surface (12).
  8. Sealing device according to Claim 7, characterized in that a plurality of spacers (64) are provided distributed over the moving surface (12) transversely with respect to the running direction (L).
  9. Sealing device according to Claim 7 or 8, characterized in that the spacers (64) are at least partly formed by knobs, rollers and/or the like.
  10. Sealing device according to one of Claims 2 to 9, characterized in that the spacers (64) can be lifted off the moving surface (12) again by means of a predefinable return travel, in particular when fixing the strip (28).
  11. Sealing device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the pivot axis (26) of the sealing element (20), defined by the joint (22), extends transversely with respect to the running direction (L) of the moving surface (12).
  12. Sealing device according to one of Claims 2 to 11, characterized in that, in order to form the joint (22), the strip (28) is provided with an engagement section (30) which engages in a groove (32) provided in the sealing element (20).
  13. Sealing device according to Claim 12, characterized in that the groove (32) is provided on a rear end (34) of the sealing element (20) as viewed in the running direction (L) of the moving surface (12).
  14. Sealing device according to one of Claims 2 to 13, characterized in that the sealing element (20), viewed generally in the running direction (L) of the moving surface (12), is arranged between the strip (28) and a stop (38) assigned in particular to a support (36) or the like.
  15. Sealing device according to Claim 14, characterized in that the front end face (40) of the sealing element (20), facing the stop (38), is curved convexly.
  16. Sealing device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the sealing element (20) comprises a ventilation extension (42), which extends in the running direction (L) of the moving surface (12), away from the end (44) of the sealing element (20) which interacts in a sealing manner with this surface (12), in order to ensure ventilation, in particular of openings (16) provided in the moving surface (12), in a ventilation region (48) adjoining the sealing region (46).
