Abstract

A washing machine has a laundry drum and a tub and defines an outflow orifice at a lowest point and a second orifice at a point higher. An outflow line fluidically connects to the outflow orifice. A liquid line fluidically connects the outflow line to the second orifice. A turbidity sensor is disposed at the liquid line and responds to a turbidity of liquid flowing therethrough. A pressure controller includes a pressure line connection at the outflow line, a pressure sensor connected to the pressure line connection, a pressure of liquid in the outflow line dependent on a level of liquid in the tub being transmitted from the outflow line to the pressure sensor through the pressure line connection, and the pressure sensor responding to the liquid pressure and controlling a liquid filling level in the tub dependent upon the liquid pressure. In the configuration, the outflow hose has both a connection for a turbidity sensor and a connection for a pressure sensor.

Description

The invention relates to a washing machine according to the preamble of claim 1.

Accordingly, the invention relates to a washing machine comprising a tub in which a laundry drum is rotatable about a horizontal axis and which at a lowest point has a drain opening; a drain line which is connected to the drain opening and which is connected to a drain pump or connectable; a turbidity sensor on a fluid line connecting the drain line to an additional port formed in the tub at a higher position than the drain port, the turbidity sensor responsive to turbidity of the fluid flowing through the fluid passage; a pressure sensor responsive to a fluid pressure in the tub dependent fluid pressure for controlling the fluid fill level in the tub.

A washing machine of this type is known from practice. The turbidity sensor is a so-called rinsing sensor, in response to the signals of which laundry rinsing operations are controlled. The pressure sensor is connected via a pressure line to a further additional opening of the tub.

From DE-Auslegeschrift 28 40 241 a washing machine outlet pipe is known to which a pressure sensor tube via a pressure sensor is connected. A purge sensor is not disclosed in this document. The pressure sensor is a membrane switch which controls the water level in the tub, in particular limited to a predetermined extent.

From DE 196 52 830 A1 discloses a washing machine with a sensor in a liquid line is known, which connects an additional opening of the tub with the drain line of the tub at a point which is lower than the additional opening. A pressure sensor is not disclosed in this document. The sensor is preferably an optical sensor which includes a light transmitter, for example an infrared LED transmitter, and a light receiver, for example a phototransistor. Depending on the degree of turbidity of the liquid in the liquid line penetrates more or less Light the transmitter's liquid to the receiver. Of course, other known techniques can be used as rinsing sensor, which can generate a signal depending on the turbidity of the liquor of the tub.

The invention enables the problem to be solved to provide a structurally and moderately simpler production and cheaper system. In particular, a smaller number of components to be achieved and a modular principle to be possible, in which assemblies are pre-assembled.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the characterizing features of claim 1.

Further features of the invention are contained in the subclaims.

The invention avoids that a connection to the tub is required for the pressure sensor. Such a connection to the tub is not only expensive to produce but also prevents the same type of tub from being used for a variety of different washing machines. The invention no longer requires a pressure sensor connection to the tub, so that tubs can be produced in large numbers for different types of washing machines.

According to the invention, both the connection for the purge sensor and the connection for the pressure sensor are formed on the drain hose. Preferably, both ports are arranged tangentially on the drain hose, preferably on the same side of the drain hose. As a result, short lines and sufficient space for other equipment parts such as the drain pump can be achieved in the washing machine. Furthermore, the invention makes it possible to form the drain hose with the connections for the turbidity sensor and the pressure sensor as a preassembled module that can be used on a modular basis for different types of washing machines.

The washing machine shown in Fig. 1 has a housing 1, in which a tub 2 is mounted to vibrate. In the tub 2, a laundry drum 3 is arranged rotatably about a horizontal axis. The tub 2 can be fed into the upper part of a supply line 4 via a solenoid valve 5 and a Waschmitteleinspülbehälter 6 water and optionally laundry treatment agent (detergent, detergent, bleach). The tub 2 is provided at its lowest point with a drain opening 8, to which a drain line 10 is connected liquid-tight, which at its end remote from the tub 2 end a particularly easily flexible, preferably bellows or corrugated tubing downstream end portion 12 has, with the suction side of a Lase pump 14 is connected. An exhaust pump 16 is connected to the pressure side of the layer pump 14. The downstream drain hose section 12 is formed on a substantially horizontal leg of the drain hose 10.

The connected to the drain opening 8 of the tub 2 downstream upstream portion 14 is preferably a vertical leg of the drain hose 10. This may include a check valve 16, which prevents backflow from the drain pump 14 into the drain opening 8 of the tub 2. The drain hose 10 may have a hose nozzle 18 for an emergency drain hose, in the event that the drain pump 14 has a defect.

A liquid line 18 connects a higher than the drain opening 8 located additional opening 20 of the tub 2 with the vertical leg 14 of the drain hose 10 at one between its check valve 16 and its drain opening 8 facing the upper end. During operation of the washing machine may leach or water is constantly flowing through this liquid line 18. This flow is based on a slight pressure difference of the liquor over the drain opening 8 and the additional opening 20.

The liquid line 18 is provided with a turbidity sensor 22 which, depending on the turbidity of the liquid flowing through the liquid line 18, in particular liquor, generates signals which are delivered via a line 24 to a control device 26, which control the detergent operation in dependence thereon can. Preferably, the turbidity sensor 22 is a so-called "purge sensor", depending on which signals laundry rinsing operations in the washing machine are controlled. This sensor 22 includes a transmitter and a receiver, for example an optical transmitter, for example an infrared LED, and an optical receiver, for example a phototransistor, as known from DE 196 52 830 A1. However, it is also possible to use a sensor which operates according to another measuring principle.

A pressure line 28 of a pressure sensor 30 of the control unit 26, for example, a membrane switch, connects the drain hose 10 at a location between the check valve 16 and its connected to the drain port 8 upper end point with the pressure sensor 30. The pressure sensor 30 reacts in dependence on the As a result, the liquid level in the tub 2 can be controlled by the pressure line 28 and its pressure sensor 30 or pressure switch, in particular limited to a maximum value, as for example from DE-Auslegeschrift 28th 40 241 is known.

The provided in the drain hose 10 ports 18-1 and 28-1 of the liquid line 18 and pressure line 28 are preferably formed immediately adjacent to the drain opening 8 between the upper end of the drain hose 10 and the check valve 16 in the vertical leg 14. The connection sockets are an integral part of the drain hose 10. The two connection sockets 18-1 and 28-1 are preferably arranged tangentially to the drain hose 10. They can be arranged one above the other according to FIG. 1, the arrangement being chosen one above the other mainly for the purpose of making them visible in FIG.

Dies ist eine raumsparende Ausführungsform, welche außerdem die Bildung von schädlichen Wirbelströmen im Ablaufschlauch vermeidet.FIG. 2 shows a preferred embodiment in which the two connection sockets 18-1 and 28-1 are formed substantially parallel next to one another in the vertical leg 14 of the drain hose 10. This is a space saving embodiment which also avoids the formation of harmful eddy currents in the drain hose.

Although FIG. 3 shows an embodiment in which the connection stubs 18-1 and 28-1 are likewise arranged tangentially to the drain hose 10 or its vertical leg 14, but on opposite sides of the drain hose 10. This could be with respect to the wiring in the Washing machine and also with respect to currents in the drain hose 10 less favorable than Fig. 2 be.

The drain hose 10 is preferably made in a known manner of flexible material, such as rubber, and is plugged or infected in a known manner to the drain opening 8 of the tub 2 or releasably connected in any other way.
