Abstract

Device for connecting an electronic box comprising a connection module (12) intended to be coupled with the longitudinal assembly face of a box (2) and making, on the one hand, an electrical connection with pins (7 ) protruding from this longitudinal assembly face and, on the other hand, an electrical connection with conductive cables. The pins (7) are longitudinal and the module (12) is fixed to the housing (2) by means of a system of discontinuous slides (8, 9, 15, 16, 17) allowing it to be fixed by sliding longitudinal and a reversible locking by an elastic tongue (18) engaged in a recess (10) of the housing. <IMAGE>

Description

The present invention relates to a connection device an electronic box. Electronic boxes used in the field are generally mounted in cabinets, and are juxtaposed to each other in the same row, several rows can be stacked. These boxes have a general shape rectangular, and each have one or more pins connection in order to make their connection with conductive cables connected to different types of devices such as clock systems, relays, or signal processing devices.

Connection pins connected to the electronic card contained in each electronic box are flat pins orientation parallel to the longitudinal assembly face of the housing.

In view of the fact that accessibility to a box cannot generally only by a longitudinal face, the connection to conductive cables is carried out via modules connection, each fixed on the longitudinal assembly face of a housing. A connection module contains connection parts to horizontal flat pins, as well as a cable fixing device conductors which are brought into contact with the connection parts above. Conductive cables are generally introduced into the connection module either by the upper face thereof or by a longitudinal face thereof.

A connection module is fixed on the longitudinal face assembly of a housing by an irreversible latching device, the approach of the module vis-à-vis the housing being carried out by displacement transverse to this face. When it is necessary to intervene on a case, for example to change an electronic card, it is necessary to dismantle the connections between the conductor cables and the connection. After working on the housing, the conductor cables. It follows from the above that this operation is a long, costly operation with risk of errors during wiring.

The object of the invention is to provide a connection device an electronic box comprising a connection module which can be wired before its installation on the housing, and can be dismantled in a simple and fast way of the case, without deterioration, and without requiring disassembly of the conducting cables. The object of the invention is therefore to provide a device in which a connection module can be disassembled and reassembled instantly, without detaching the cables conductors.

To this end, this device, of the type comprising a connection module intended to be coupled with the longitudinal assembly face of a housing and producing, on the one hand, an electrical connection with pins protruding from this longitudinal face. assembly and, on the other hand, an electrical connection with conductive cables, is characterized in that:

  • the connection pins protruding from the longitudinal assembly face of a housing are flat pins oriented parallel to the lateral faces of the housing adjacent to neighboring housings,
  • the longitudinal assembly face of the housing is delimited laterally by two parallel recesses partially closed at the longitudinal assembly face by at least one lug,
  • the assembly face of the module on the housing, has slots oriented parallel to the side faces, each intended to receive a flat pin of the housing, with the possibility of displacement in the direction of the slots of the module relative to the housing to a position locking mechanism in which each flat pin is engaged in a lyre-shaped connection piece arranged in the module,
  • the assembly face of the module on the housing is delimited laterally over part of its height by two parallel flanks which project forward and which each have a return inwardly having at least one recess, allowing, in a determined longitudinal position, the passage of the pins of the housing then the retention of these in another longitudinal position corresponding to the locking position,
  • the assembly faces respectively of the housing and of the module respectively comprise, near their end opposite to that comprising the connection of the pins, a recess and a retractable elastic tongue intended to come to engage in the recess, in the locked position of the module.

From a practical point of view, a connection module can be pre-equipped with conductive cables. To make the connection to the box electronics, a transversal approach to the module should be carried out towards the housing, the module being offset longitudinally by report to the case, so that the lugs and returns respectively of the case and the module interpenetrate. During this movement, the pins vertical of the housing penetrate into the slots of the module, the slots being arranged so that no electrical contact takes place at this stage of the movement. When the facing faces of the module housing are in contact, the operator moves the module longitudinally, in order to carry out the electrical contact then the locking which is obtained by engagement of the deformable tongue belonging to the module in the recess in the longitudinal assembly face of the housing. The module restraint relative to the housing is achieved by cooperation between the lugs of the housing and module returns, while locking is accomplished by cooperation between the tab of the module and the corresponding recess of the housing.

The actuation of this elastic tongue, in a direction of outlet out of the recess in which it is housed, allows, by longitudinal translation followed by a transverse movement, to disassemble the module relative to the housing. This disassembly is carried out instantly and provides access to the interior of the housing. It is remarkable to note that this disassembly is carried out without disconnecting the conductive cables from the module. An intervention on a box can therefore be carried out in a way simple and very fast since avoiding all subsequent operations of wiring, the module which has been separated from the housing with the cables which are connected that can be immediately reassembled on the housing after intervention on the latter, or replacement thereof.

In order to facilitate the operator's work, the lengths respective lugs of the housing and recesses of the module returns are determined to form a key and not allow the mounting in one direction of the module on the housing.

In order to simplify the dismantling of the connection module, this comprises, in its face adjacent to its face for assembly with the housing, a recess giving access to the elastic locking tab to activate it using a tool.

According to an advantageous embodiment of this device, a connection module comprises a body inside which are mounted a number of drawers each of which contains a piece of connection to a flat pin of the housing and at least one fixing part a conductive cable.

Each drawer is in the form of a shaped part general parallelepiped in synthetic material of which one of the faces side is open and the interior contains partitions projecting from the opposite side face used to support and maintain the workpiece connection in the shape of a lyre and of the cable fixing part (s) conductors.

Several drawers are therefore juxtaposed inside the body of a module, the open face of each drawer being adjacent to the closed side of the neighboring drawer.

In order to secure each drawer in the body of the module, the drawer has, on its two faces adjacent to the open face, two snap-on tabs intended to enter two recesses formed in the walls opposite the module.

According to one embodiment of this device, the part of electrical connection with a conductive cable consists of a pin metal in the form of a loop engaged on a stud of the protruding drawer from the face thereof opposite the open face.

Advantageously, and in the case where it is necessary to carry out the electrical connection between a part and two conducting cables, the pin, ensuring the retention of at least one cable, is a double pin obtained at from the same metal blade split along its length except in one connection zone, the two parts, arranged on either side of the slot, each comprising an opening for the passage of a cable and each pin part can be operated independently of the other part to fix a cable. This solution allows you to work that a single element forming two pins, instead of two pins in the traditional case, which is advantageous from a point of view economical, and simplifies mounting conditions.

In any case, the invention will be well understood, using the description which follows, with reference to the attached schematic drawing representing, by way of nonlimiting examples, several embodiments of this device.

Figure 1 is a perspective view of an electronic box and a connection module.

Figure 2 is an exploded perspective view of a module connection and component parts of a drawer associated with this module.

Figure 3 is a longitudinal sectional view on a scale enlarged showing a drawer mounted inside a module connection.

Figure 4 is a top view of an alternative embodiment of module of Figures 1 to 3.

Figure 5 is a perspective view on an enlarged scale of a double pin for securing in the module two cables conductors.

Figure 1 shows a housing 2 intended to contain at least an electronic card, having a generally parallelepiped shape, delimited in particular by two side walls 3, a front face 4, a bottom 5 and a longitudinal assembly face 6. From the longitudinal face assembly protrude, near the bottom edge of the housing, three 7 conductive flat pins connected to the printed circuit.

The longitudinal assembly face of the housing is delimited laterally by two parallel recesses 8, partially closed at level of the longitudinal assembly face by two lugs 9.

Near the upper face 4 of the housing 2 is provided in the longitudinal assembly face 6 a recess 10.

Figure 1 also shows a connection module designated by the general reference 12. The assembly face 13 of the module on the housing has slots 14 oriented longitudinally, each intended to receive a flat pin 7 protruding from the housing, with possibility of moving each flat spindle 7 inside the corresponding slot 14 during a longitudinal displacement of the module by report to the housing. The assembly face 13 of the module 12 is delimited laterally and over part of its length by two parallel sides 15 which protrude from the front and each have a return 16 towards the interior, each return 16 having a central recess 17 allowing, in a determined longitudinal position of the module by compared to the housing 2, to carry out the passage of the lugs 9 of the housing then the retention of these in the locking position, the pins 9 then being behind returns 16.

The assembly face 13 of the module 12 comprises, near from its upper end, an elastic tongue 18 intended to come engage in the recess 10 in the housing 2, in the locked position. This tongue 18 is accessible by a recess 19 opening into the upper face of module 12. In upper face 20 of module 12 three openings 22 are provided for engaging conductors electrical, and three openings 23 allowing the actuation of the means retaining these conductors. The repository used above takes into account the position of the module on the drawing, but does not correspond necessarily in the position of use.

In practice, the fixing of the cables in module 12. Once this fixing is done, the module is approached transversely of the housing, until it comes into abutment against it, with interpenetration of lugs 9 and return 16 of the sides of the module. During this movement, the flat pins 7 penetrate into the slots 14. It is then carried out a longitudinal displacement of the module 12 downwards, movement during which the connection of the flat pins 7 with the connection parts housed in the module 12, and during which the returns 16 of the module come lock behind the lugs 9 of the housing 2. At the end of movement longitudinal, the elastic tongue 18 enters the recess 10. This mounting is reversible because it suffices, for example using a screwdriver, tilt the elastic tongue 18 to release it from the recess 10, before moving the module 12 longitudinally to allow the returns 16 to escape the pins 9 of the housing, and to shoot transversely the module, to allow access to the housing. It should be noted that this operation is carried out without dismantling the electric cables.

Figure 2 shows a detail of the module 12. module 12 comprises a body in which several drawers 24 are housed. there are as many drawers 24 as there are connections to be made with pins plates 7. Each drawer 24 is constituted by a piece of material synthetic, of generally parallelepiped shape, one of the faces 25 is open. Inside the drawer 24 are provided partitions 26 and a pad 27 projecting from the face 21 opposite the open face 25. Each drawer 24 has on two opposite faces latching lugs 28 intended to come and engage, as shown in Figure 3, in openings that includes the housing constituting the module. In the form shown in the drawing, each drawer 24 contains a piece of conductive connection 29 in general S shape, mounted against support partitions 26, and the lower end of which has a slot 30 lyre-shaped, this slot 30 being located opposite a slot 32 of the drawer 24, this slot 32 being itself located opposite a slot 14 of the module. A flat pin 7 will therefore pass through the slot 14 of the module, the slot 32 of drawer 24 for engaging in slot 30 of the lyre of the part 29. During the transverse movement of the module 12, there is no electrical contact between a spindle 7 and the part 29. When longitudinal movement of the module, pin 7 engages in slot 30 with establishment of electrical contact with part 29.

The drawer 24 also contains a pin-shaped part 33 closed on itself, this pin being an elastic pin of the type known per se, having an opening 34 for the passage of a cable driver. In practice, before engaging a conductor cable, a tool such as a screwdriver is engaged in the opening 23 of the module to deform the pin 33 and disengage the opening 34 from the latter by bringing it in look of the opening 22 through which the conductive cable is engaged. When the end of the conductor cable is in contact with the workpiece connection 29, the action exerted by the tool on the pin 33 is released and it relaxes by securing the conductor cable.

Figure 4 shows a top view of a variant of a module, in which the same elements are designated by the same references than before. In this case, it is a question of carrying out the connection of each flat pin 7 with two electrical conductors. AT For this purpose, each drawer is equipped, not with two pins, but with a double pin 36 made from the same metal blade, separated into two parts 37 arranged on either side of a slot 38, both parts 37 remaining integral by one 39 of the ends of the pin. An opening 34 is formed in each of the parts 37 of the pin, each opening 34 being intended to allow the passage of an element driver. This double pin has the advantage of not being made up only by one piece instead of two and only require the setting place only one piece instead of two, which is an advantage economic.

As is apparent from the above, the invention provides a great improvement to the existing technique by providing a device for connection of an electrical box, of simple structure, allowing a simple and non-destructive disconnection, and very easy to use convenient for users.

It goes without saying that the invention is not limited only to embodiments of this device, described above by way of examples, on the contrary, it embraces all its variants. This is how that the means of connecting the conducting cables could be formed by means of screws and stirrups, without being removed of the scope of the invention.

Claims (8)

  1. Connection device for an electronic box, of the type comprising a connection module (12) intended to be coupled with the longitudinal assembly face of a box (2) and making, on the one hand, an electrical connection with pins (7) projecting from this longitudinal assembly face and, on the other hand, an electrical connection with conductive cables, characterized in that :
    the connection pins (7) projecting from the longitudinal assembly face of the housing are flat pins oriented parallel to the lateral faces of the housing (2) adjacent to neighboring housings,
    the longitudinal assembly face (6) of the housing (2) is delimited laterally by two parallel recesses (8) partially closed at the longitudinal assembly face by at least one lug (9),
    the assembly face of the module (12) on the housing, comprises slots (14) oriented parallel to the lateral faces, each intended to receive a flat pin (7) of the housing, with the possibility of displacement in the direction of the slots (14 ) from the module relative to the housing to a locking position in which each flat pin (7) is engaged in a connecting piece (29) in the form of a lyre arranged in the module,
    the assembly face (13) of the module on the housing is delimited laterally over part of its height by two parallel flanks (15) which project forward and which each have a return (16) inwards having at least one recess (17), allowing, in a determined longitudinal position, the passage of the lugs (9) of the housing and then retaining them in another longitudinal position corresponding to the locking position,
    the assembly faces respectively of the housing and of the module respectively comprise, near their end opposite to that comprising the connection of the pins (7), a recess (10) and a retractable elastic tongue (18) intended to engage in the recess (10), in the locked position of the module (12).
  2. Connection device according to claim 1, characterized in that the respective lengths of the lugs (9) of the housing and of the recesses (17) of the returns (16) of the module are determined to form polarizing pins and to allow mounting only in one direction of the module (12) on the housing (2).
  3. Connection device according to either of Claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the module (12) comprises, in its face adjacent to its face for assembly with the housing (2), a recess (19) giving access to the elastic locking tab (18) for actuating the latter using a tool.
  4. Connection device according to one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that a connection module comprises a body inside which a number of drawers (24) are mounted, each of which contains a connection piece (29) to a flat pin (7) of the housing and at least one fixing part (33) of a conductive cable.
  5. Connection device according to claim 4, characterized in that each drawer (24) is in the form of a generally parallelepipedal part, made of synthetic material, one of which (25) of the side faces is open and the l interior contains partitions (26) protruding from the opposite side face (21), serving to support and maintain the connecting piece (29) in the form of a lyre and the fixing piece (s) (33) conductor cables.
  6. Connection device according to claim 5, characterized in that the drawer (24) has, on its two faces adjacent to the open face, two snap-on tabs (28) intended to penetrate into two recesses in the walls opposite the module.
  7. Connection device according to either of Claims 5 and 6, characterized in that the electrical connection part with a conductive cable is constituted by a metal pin (33) in the form of a loop, engaged on a stud (27) of the drawer ( 24) projecting from the face (21) thereof opposite the open face (25).
  8. Connection device according to claim 7, characterized in that the pin (33), ensuring the retention of at least one cable, is a double pin (36) obtained from the same metal blade split along its length except in a connection zone (39), the two parts (37), arranged on either side of the slot (38), each comprising an opening (34) for the passage of a cable and each pin part (37) can be actuated independently of the other party to secure the cable.
