A device forming a socket for plugging in electrical relays through an opening in a panel (20), of the type comprising two end pieces (3, 4) equipped with connection means (5, 6) and arranged on either side of a body (1) provided with housings (2) which form female electrical connectors, characterised in that the device comprises elastic catch lugs (7a, 7b; 8a, 8b) which are flexible between two positions, the first of which corresponds to elastic withdrawal of the lugs (7a, 7b; 8a, 8b) towards the centre of the body (1) and the second of which corresponds to movement apart between said lugs (7a, 7b; 8a, 8b) which is substantially equal to the movement apart of two faces (30a, 30b) of the electric relay (30) to be plugged in, and in that the connection means (5, 6) fitted on the end pieces (3, 4) of the device cooperate with complementary connection means (35) for the electric relay (30) which are made (36) captive relative to said relay (30).

    10. A device according to Claim 9, characterised in that the cradle (40) has two lateral surfaces (41, 42) intended to form bearing surfaces for the lugs (7, 8).
    11. A device according to Claim 9, characterised in that the cradle (40) has a bottom surface (43) intended to receive the first part, the mutual fixing thereof being ensured by welding or gluing.
    12. A device according to Claim 1, characterised in that the connection means (5, 6) are internal threads or attached threaded inserts.
    13. A device according to Claim 1, characterised in that indexing pins are provided for positioning the socket in an opening in the panel which is able to receive a series of sockets.
    14. A device according to Claim 13, characterised in that the indexing pins (45) are arranged on the end pieces (3, 4) of the socket, to cooperate with orifices (44) in the panel (20).
    15. A device according to Claim 13, characterised in that the indexing pins (46) are arranged laterally, in a zone corresponding to the thickness of the panel (20), to cooperate with oblong holes (51, 52) arranged laterally to the opening (50) of the panel (20).
    16. A device according to Claim 7, characterised in that the end pieces (3, 4) penetrate into the recesses in the lugs (7, 8) and they bear there a stop (38) intended to be applied to an edge of the opening of the panel (20), so as to avoid translation of the socket in the plane of said panel.
