Abstract

The receiver and stacker for a mail processing machine has a conveyor (20) located adjacent to the machine's outlet end to receive envelopes and move them transversely towards an inclined transfer surface (24) from which they are directed by guides with lateral slideways (40A, 40B) into a storage box (26A) of standard dimensions. Selon l'invention, le dispositif de réception comporte un premier module (ou colonne 16A) comprenant un tapis convoyeur 20 pour recevoir successivement les articles de courrier éjectés par le poste d'affranchissement 14 de la machine et les transporter vers l'arrière de la table de travail (afin de libérer le devant de la table de travail pour l'opérateur) perpendiculairement à leur direction d'éjection (qui est aussi la direction d'avancée de ces articles) vers une ouverture 22 dans laquelle elles vont tomber une à une pour être dirigées le long d'une surface inclinée 24 qui assure un transfert de ces articles vers une première caisse postale de rangement 26A aux dimensions standardisées, par exemple 300*492*194, disposée dans la colonne sous le tapis convoyeur sur une tablette, ou étagère 23, du module. Cette inclinaison de la surface de transfert permet de redresser les articles de courrier qui étaient initialement dans une position horizontale et donc de les ranger verticalement (sur la tranche) dans la caisse postale (cette position verticale est exigée par l'administration postale pour faciliter les opérations ultérieures de tri faites par cette administration). Pour permettre un rangement aisé et guider les enveloppes dans leur descente vers la caisse postale 26A, le dispositif de réception comporte une gouttière de guidage 28, montée directement en sortie de la surface inclinée et dont la largeur correspond au plus grand format des enveloppes affranchies. Cette gouttière est associée à un cadre 30 destiné à être appliqué sur le bord périphérique supérieur de la caisse postale et comportant deux guides parallèles 32A, 32B sur lequel est suspendu un intercalaire 34 destiné à se déplacer au fur et à mesure de la réception des enveloppes et donc du remplissage de la caisse. On notera que pour limiter le temps d'interruption du processus d'affranchissement, le dispositif de réception comporte de préférence deux caisses postales superposées 26A, 26B. Ainsi, une fois pleine, l'opérateur peut retirer la caisse correspondante du module (ce retrait peut être facilité en remplaçant l'étagère 23 par un tiroir sur glissières), ôter le cadre qui la surmonte (un système de ressorts à ruban peut alors permettre par exemple un retour de l'intercalaire dans sa position initiale) et le placer sur la seconde caisse vide qui pourra être mis à la place de la première caisse pour la poursuite du processus d'affranchissement. Du fait de l'adaptation parfaite entre les articles de courrier et la caisse postale devant les recevoir, la gouttière 28 peut être remplacée par deux simples glissières 40A, 40B montées de part et d'autre de la surface inclinée de transfert 24 et assurant un guidage des flancs des enveloppes.
