Description

Brennstoffeinspritzanlage fuel injection system
Stand der TechnikState of the art
The invention relates to a fuel injection system for injecting fuel into an internal combustion engine, in particular for injecting fuel directly into the combustion chamber or the combustion chambers of the internal combustion engine.
The invention is based on a fuel injection system according to the preamble of the main claim. Such a fuel injection system is known from DE 197 25 076 AI. For the sealing connection between a fuel injection valve and an associated connecting piece of a fuel distributor line, it each has an annular seal carrier, which has a first sealing element for sealing the seal carrier against an end face of an inlet section of the fuel injector and with a second sealing element for sealing the seal carrier against the connecting piece of the fuel distributor line interacts. A insertable into a fuel inlet opening of the inlet section penetrates the annular seal carrier, so that the seal carrier between an upstream collar Socket and the inlet section of the fuel injector is locked in the radial direction.
A disadvantage of the arrangement described in the abovementioned publication is that a total of two sealing elements provide two components on which errors can occur and, in particular, leaks can occur. The two sealing elements are mounted on top of each other and therefore require an overall height. Since the sealing elements cannot lie directly against one another and sufficient material must be available in order to be able to form the annular grooves, the additional overall height required for the seal carrier is not insignificant. Another disadvantage of the arrangement described in the above-mentioned document is that the radial mobility of the seal carrier is only guaranteed if it still has a certain axial play and is not pressed against the inlet section by the bushing. Consequently, the socket must be inserted into the fuel inlet opening at a precisely defined depth during assembly and the socket as well as the fuel inlet opening in the fuel injection valve must be manufactured very precisely.
Dabei liegt der O-Ring an einer Innenwandung des Verbindungsstutzens dichtend an.It is already known from JP-OS 08-312503 to seal a fuel injector which can be inserted into a receiving bore and has an inlet section by means of an O-ring on this inlet section with respect to a connecting piece of a fuel distributor line. The O-ring seals against an inner wall of the connecting piece.
Nachteilig an diesem bekannten Stand der Technik ist, daß die durch Fertigungstoleranzen auftretendenA disadvantage of this known prior art is that those which occur due to manufacturing tolerances
Position deviations of the fuel injector compared to the fuel rail, as far as the axes of the connecting piece of the fuel rail and of the fuel injector are shifted against each other, can only be compensated for by asymmetrical squeezing of the O-ring. This leads to leaks even with relatively little crushing of the O-ring.
Vorteile der ErfindungAdvantages of the invention
The fuel injection system according to the invention with the characterizing features of the main claim has the advantage that positional deviations of the axes of the connecting piece of the fuel rail and the fuel injector are reliably compensated for each other. Undesired tensioning of the fuel injection valve in relation to the fuel distributor line can thereby be avoided. Above all, a smaller size is achieved compared to the known seals, which can compensate for tolerances.
Advantageous developments and improvements of the fuel injection system specified in the main claim are possible due to the features listed in the subclaims.
In an advantageous embodiment, the inner sleeve and outer sleeve are connected via spiral springs.
It is particularly advantageous to provide pressure compensation bores in the outer sleeve which connect the fuel chamber to be sealed with a dead space which forms between the sealing edges of the sealant and the outer sleeve. As a result, the pressure of the fuel acts on the sealant over a larger circumference of its cross section and the contact pressure of the sealing edges is increased. The seal carrier is expediently fixed by a locking ring on the guide section of the fuel injection valve with its inner sleeve against the end face of the inlet section. A gap also remains cheap due to the elasticity of the sealing element, even when pressurized fuel is applied, between the end face of the inlet section and the outer sleeve of the seal carrier. Even if the inner sleeve is pressed against the end face by the locking ring due to manufacturing tolerances, the outer ring with the sealing element remains functional.
In an advantageous embodiment, a hollow screw serves as the guide section, which is screwed into a threaded bore of the fuel injector and holds the seal carrier against the fuel injector.
The outer ring favorably has an upstream, radially outer, circumferential, conical bevel. This facilitates the insertion of the seal carrier into the connecting piece.

Fuel injection system in a partial representation of the connection area between a fuel injection valve 1 and a fuel distribution line 2. The fuel distribution line 2 is shown here only in the area of a connecting piece 3 and the fuel injection valve 1 only in the area of an inlet section 4, which has a guide section 5.
The inlet section 4 is formed in one piece with the fuel injection valve 1. An end face 6 is formed at the transition of the inlet section 4 to the guide section 5. A fuel inlet bore 7 of the fuel injector 1 penetrates the guide section 5 and the inlet section 4. A seal carrier 30 consists of an inner sleeve 8 and an outer sleeve 9, which radially surrounds the inner sleeve 8 and is elastically connected to the inner sleeve 8 via spirally arranged leaf springs 10. The inner sleeve 8 is penetrated and guided by the guide section 5. The inner sleeve 8 is held in position by a locking ring 11 and pressed against the end face 6 of the inlet section 4.
The locking ring 11 is inserted into a circumferential groove 12 of the guide section 5. In a rectangular shape trained and the end face 6 gradation 13 of the outer sleeve 9, an O-ring 14 is used as a sealing element. A dead space 15 formed between the outer sleeve 9 and the O-ring 14 is connected to the fuel chamber 17 to be sealed via a pressure compensation bore 16. The dead space 15 is formed between sealing edges 18, 19 of the O-ring 14 with respect to the gradation 13 of the outer sleeve 9. With an axial sealing edge 20, the O-ring 14 rests on the end face 6 and with a peripheral sealing edge 21 on an inner wall 22 of the connecting piece 3. The outer sleeve 9 has a circumferential conical bevel 23 at its upstream end. A central axis 24 is drawn through the fuel injector 1 for clarification. Likewise, a central axis 25 is drawn through the connecting piece 3. Due to finished tolerance, the axes 24, 25 can be offset by the dimension a.
The outer sleeve 9 is connected to the inner sleeve 8 only elastically via the leaf springs 10, such that only small forces are transmitted in the axial direction. Regardless of whether and with what force the inner sleeve 8 is pressed against the end face 6, a gap b is formed between the outer sleeve 9 and the end face 6, the size of which depends on the elasticity of the O-ring 14 and the prevailing pressure in the fuel chamber 17. As a result, the outer sleeve 9 is slightly radially displaceable. In connection with the bevel 23, the outer sleeve 9 adjusts to the offset a during assembly. This is possible as long as the axial sealing edge 20 is still completely on the end face 6. During operation of the fuel injection valve 1, the sealing effect of the O-ring 14 is reinforced by the pressure compensation bore 16. Through the pressure compensation bore 16, the O-ring 14 is also pressurized with fuel under pressure on its cross-sectional circumference between the sealing edges 18, 19 to the outer sleeve 9 in the dead space 15. As a result, the contact pressure on the axial sealing edge 20 and the peripheral sealing edge 21 is increased. FIG. 2 shows a top view of the seal carrier 30 from FIG. 1 with a design of leaf springs 26 according to the invention. The outer sleeve 9 concentrically surrounds the inner sleeve 8. Both are elastically connected to one another via the leaf springs 26, which are directed radially outwards and are shown in FIG Training have a fold.
