Abstract
Description
- The present invention proposes a device for the descaling of pipes and apparatuses in heating and cooling installations, especially small and middle plants such as wall water-heaters, geysers, boilers, refrigerator exchangers, heating and cooling plates, heat exchangers, cooling circuits, pipes for the supply of hot water to the use points, etc.
- In practice, the device according to the present invention can be employed to remove calcareous deposits from any kind of pipes or apparatuses.
- The present device can be utilized in many situations where there is the problem of the formation of lime or hard deposits caused by the passage of water.
- Unlike the known solutions, the present invention proposes to employ a very simple device to descale pipes so that it is no more necessary to utilize the conventional expensive complex devices. In addition, the device according to the present invention permits to make use of the common tools that are available.
- As is known, in the field of heating installations such as boilers as well as in the field of washing machines such as washing-machines and dish-washers there is the serious problem of the formation of calcareous incrustations caused by the crystallization of the minerals dissolved in water. In practice, these calcareous incrustations adhere to the inner surface of the pipes and give rise to the well-known damages and inconveniences.
- The known prior art discloses some solutions to dissolve the calcareous deposits in the pipes. These prior art solutions refer to devices that deliver appropriate acids to the encrusted pipes to dissolve the hard deposits.
- The prior art devices comprise both a reservoir that contains an acid and a pump that supplies the encrusted pipes with the acid solution, the pump being actuated by means of a high-power motor.
- However, the prior art devices are very cumbersome and expensive because these systems are complex and need high-power motors to actuate the pumps that deliver the acid.
- The aim of the present invention is therefore to solve the above inconveniences and drawbacks by carrying out a very simple and cheap device. The simplicity and low cost of the device according to the present invention is made possible by the absence of the expensive cumbersome electric motor of the prior art devices.
- The main advantage of the device according to the present invention is therefore its great simplicity and consequent low cost, which makes the present device very appreciated by the consumers.
- The above aim and advantages are reached by the present invention by carrying out a device for the descaling of pipes, in particular pipes of heating and cooling installations in which there occurs the problem of the formation of calcareous deposits, characterized by the presence of a reservoir which contains an appropriate liquid acid and a pump which is provided with a connection to be connected with an actuating tool which is a common available tool such as a power drill or the like.
- Further features and details of the present invention will be better understood from the following specification, which is to be considered as an example which does not limit the invention itself, on the basis of the following drawing wherein:
- Figure 1 is a schematic view of a device according to the present invention on the whole for the descaling of pipes.
- With reference to the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 denotes a device according to the present invention on the whole for the descaling of pipes, in particular pipes of heat exchanging installations such as boilers or the like, but generally speaking pipes of all those apparatuses and installations in which there is the problem of the formation of calcareous deposits.
- In general, the
device 1 comprises areservoir 2 which contains an acid liquid to be delivered by means of apump 5 through asupply duct 3. The return of the acid liquid occurs through areturn duct 4. - The peculiarity of the present invention is the presence of a
pump 5 and a supportingarm 6 which supports a power-driventool 7. - The power-driven
tool 7 may be any tool that is available. It may be a power drill or whatever power-driven tool provided with a power rotary spindle. - The upper part of the
pump 5 shows a seat in which the power-driventool 7 is inserted. This pump seat must be shaped in such a way as to house and hold the tool. - Once the tool is inserted, it rotates the pump so that the pump delivers the acid to the
supply duct 3. Then, the acid returns through theduct 4 to thereservoir 2. - Both the pump connection and the tool support can be provided with a universal connection to connect tools of any kind and size. It may be also an interchangeable connection.
- In case the actuating tool is provided with a reversible motor such as a power drill, it is possible to take advantage of the peculiarity of the reversibility to better descale the encrusted pipes. In this case, the acid flows in the pipes back and forth in both directions.
- The utilization of the so-described device is very simple. It is sufficient to insert the power-driven
tool 7 in thesupport 6 so that the tool inserts in the connection of thepump 5. Then, the parts in question must be blocked through conventional blocking means. Then, theducts tool 7 to permit thepump 5 to rotate so that the acid begins flowing in thesupply duct 3. From thesupply duct 3 the acid reaches internal pipes of the apparatus A to be descaled and returns through theduct 4 to thereservoir 2. - As it can be seen, the so-described device is very simple and its cost is very low because unlike the prior art devices there is no electric motor in the present invention.
- In addition, the present device can be easily transported because its dimensions are not cumbersome.
- A technician of the field in question could make technically equivalent changes and variants but the so-obtained solutions are to be considered as included in the scope of protection of the present invention which is further defined in the following claims.
