Die Erfindung betrifft bioabbaubare Polyester, welche organoleptisch aktive Duftalkohole freisetzen, ein Verfahren zur Herstellung solcher Polyester sowie deren Verwendung in kosmetischen Zusammensetzungen, Kunststoff-, Klebstoff-, Lack-, Reinigungsmittel-, Weichspüler-, Waschmittel-, Handspülmittel- und Geschirrspülzusammensetzungen für Spülautomaten.

Description

Organoleptisch aktive Alkohole gebunden an bioabbaubare Polyester
Die Erfindung betrifft bioabbaubare Polyester, welche organoleptisch aktive Duftalkohole freisetzen, ein Verfahren zur Herstellung dieser Polyester sowie deren Verwendung in kosmetischen Zusammensetzungen, Kunststoff-, Klebstoff-, Lack-, Reinigungsmittel-, Weichspüler-, Waschmittel-, Handspülmittel- und Geschirrspülmittelzusammensetzungen für Spülautomaten.
Eine grundsätzliche Methode zur Freisetzung von organoleptisch aktiven Substanzen, z. B. aus Waschmitteln, ist diese direkt der Anwendungsformulierung zuzusetzen. Nachteil dieses Verfahrens ist die sofortige Freisetzung des Duftstoffes aus der Formulierung, was zu einem temporären Dufteffekt führt und somit die Lagerfähig- keit der Formulierung stark herabsetzt. Versuche zur Einkapselung solcher Substanzen oder zum Einschluss in Cyclodextrine zeigten sich als wenig erfolgreich o- der aufgrund der hohen Rohstoffpreise als unwirtschaftlich. Vorteilhafter erwies sich die Immobilisierung durch chemische Derivatisierung. Die WO 95/04809 lehrt die langsame Spaltung von Duftalkoholestern mittels Lipasen, wodurch ein langan- haltender Duft hervorgerufen wird. In WO 97/30687 und EP 816322 erfolgt die An- bindung an Sulfonate, Sulfate und Phosphate, wobei ähnliche Effekte erzielt werden. Weitere Möglichkeiten zur gezielten langsamen Freisetzung von Duftalkoholen sind Betainester, wie in EP 0799885 gezeigt, α-tertiäre Kohlenstoffester in WO 98/07810, ß-Ketoester in WO 98/07813 oder lineare oder zyklische Acetale.
Der vorliegenden Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, neue bioabbaubare Substanzklassen zur gezielten Freisetzung von Duftalkoholen bereitzustellen. Die Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß gelöst durch chemische Anbindung einer Duftalkoholkomponente an ein Polyester-Grundgerüst unter Bildung eines Duftalkohol-termi- nierten Polyesters. Im einzelnen betrifft die Erfindung einen duftalkoholterminierten Polyester erhältlich durch Umsetzung eines Polyester-Grundgerüstes mit einer Säurezahl von 10 bis 750 (DIN 53402) und einem Duftalkohol. Das Polyester-Grundgerüst aus einem organischen Polyester ist erhältlich durch a) Polykondensation von Hydroxycarbonsäuren, b) Veresterung von Di- oder Tricarbonsäuren mit Alkoholen mit 2, 3 oder 4 Hydroxylgruppen.
Die Polyester-Grundgerüste werden vorzugsweise hergestellt durch
a) Polykondensation von Hydroxycarbonsäuren, die 1, 2 oder 3 Hydroxylgruppen und 1 oder 2 Carbonsäure-Gruppen aufweisen und aus 2 bis 36 Kohlenstoffatomen bestehen. Besonders bevorzugt sind solche, die ausgewählt sind aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Citronensäure, Milchsäure, Äpfelsäure, Weinsäure, Gluconsäure, Ricinolsäuren, 4-Hydroxypentansäure, 3-Hydroxybuttersäure oder Gemische davon. Ausgangssubstanz für die Polykondensation können auch die jeweiligen Laktone sein, soweit sie existieren.
b) Veresterung von Di- oder Tricarbonsäuren mit Alkoholen enthaltend 2, 3 oder 4 Hydroxylgruppen. Dazu sind besonders Carbonsäuren geeignet, die 2 bis 36 Kohlenstoffatome enthalten. Bevorzugt sind solche Di- oder Tricarbonsäuren, die ausgewählt sind aus der Gruppe bestehend aus gesättigten oder ungesättigten aliphati- schen Carbonsäuren oder ungesättigten alicyclischen Carbonsäuren und aromati- sehen Carbonsäuren. Besonders bevorzugt sind Carbonsäuren, die ausgewählt sind aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Oxalsäure, Malonsäure, Bemsteinsäure, Glutar- säure, Adipinsäure, Pimelinsäure, Azelainsäure, Sebacinsäure, Maleinsäure, Fu- marsäure, Phthalsäure, Terephthalsäure, Isophthalsäure, Agaricinsäure, Citronensäure, 1 ,2,3-Propantricarbonsäure, Hemimellithsäure, Trimellithsäure, Trimesinsäu- re oder Gemische davon. Die zur Bildung der Polyester-Grundgerüste geeigneten Di- und Polyole tragen 2, 3 oder 4 Hydroxylgruppen. Sie sind vorzugsweise ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus gesättigten und ungesättigten aliphatischen, gesättigten und ungesättigten alicyclischen und aromatischen Alkoholen mit 2 bis 36 Kohlenstoffatomen oder Po- lyalkylenglykolen mit einer mittleren Molmasse von 106 bis 1000. Besonders bevorzugt sind Alkohole aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Ethylenglycol, Propylenglycol, Butylenglycol, and Neopentylglycol, Pentandiol-1,5,3-Methylpentandiol-1,5, Bisphenol A, 1 ,2- oder 1 ,4-Cyclohexandiol, Caprolactondiol (Reaktionsprodukt aus Capro- lacton und Ethylenglycol), hydroxyalkylierte Bisphenole, Trimethylolpropan, Tri- methylolethan, Pentaerythritol, Hexandiol-1 ,6, Heptandiol-1 ,7, Octandiol-1 ,8, Bu- tandiol-1 ,4, 2-Methyloctandiol-1,8, Nonandiol-1 ,9, Decandiol-1,10, Cyclohexandi- methylol, Di-, Tri- und Tetraethylenglykol, Di-, Tri- und Tetrapropylenglykol, Poly- ethylen- und Polypropylenglykole mit einem mittleren Molekulargewicht von 150 bis 15.000, Trimethylolethan, Trimethylolpropan und Pentaerythrit, Diethanolamin, Triethanolamin oder Gemische der genannten Alkohole.
Die erfindungsgemäß einsetzbaren Polyester weisen Säurezahlen (SZ) im Bereich von 10 bis 750 (gemessen nach DIN 53402), bevorzugt 50 bis 400, besonders bevorzugt 150 bis 350 auf.

Die erfindungsgemäßen Duftalkohol-terminierten Polyester haben den Vorteil, dass die enthaltenen Duftalkohole durch langsame Hydrolyse der Ester freigesetzt werden. Insbesondere jedoch besitzen die erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen eine gute biologische Abbaubarkeit.
Die Erfindung betrifft zudem ein Verfahren zur Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Duftalkohol-terminierten Polyester durch veresternde Umsetzung von Duftalkoholen mit Polyester-Grundgerüsten mit Säurezahlen von 10 bis 750 (DIN 53402) unter üblichen Bedingungen zur Bildung eines Esters. Die Veresterung kann in Substanz oder Lösung durchgeführt werden Zur Herstellung der Polyester-Grundgerüste durch Polykondensation von Hydroxycarbonsäuren oder durch Veresterung der Di- oder Tricarbonsäuren mit den genannten Alkoholen kommt grundsätzlich jedes bekannte Veresterungsverfahren in Frage, ebenso zur Veresterung der freie Carbonsäuregruppen tragenden Grundgerüste mit den Geruchsalkoholen. Insoweit kann auf das Wissen des Fachmanns verwiesen werden. Die Veresterung der Polyester- Grundgerüste kann vollständig oder teilweise erfolgen.
Ein weiterer Gegenstand der Erfindung ist die Verwendung der erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen in kosmetischen Formulierungen wie Deodorantien, Shampoos, Cremes, Lotionen, Seifen, Salben, Pudern und Aerosolen, in Wasch- und Reinigungsmitteln, Lacken, Kunstoffen, Klebstoffen, Handspülmitteln, Geschirrspülmitteln für Spülautomaten und Weichspülern.
Zur Erzielung langanhaltender Dufteffekte werden solchen Zusammensetzungen 0,1 bis 10 Gew.-%, vorzugsweise bis 5 Gew.-% der erfindungsgemäßen Verbindung zugesetzt.
Die nachfolgenden Beispiele dienen der Erläuterung der Erfindung und sind nicht einschränkend zu verstehen.
Beispiele
1. 152g Glykolsäure (2 mol) und 2 g p-Toluolsulfonsäure (5 mol-%) werden in 400 ml Toluol am Wasserabscheider unter Rückfluss erhitzt, bis sich 27 ml Wasser (1,5 mol) abgeschieden haben. Der so erhaltene Polyester hat eine Säurezahl von 224. Das erhaltene Reaktionsgemisch wird anschließend mit 78g Citronellol (0,5 mol) weiter am Wasserabscheider unter Rückfluss erhitzt, bis sich kein Wasser mehr abscheidet. Das Rohprodukt wird neutralisiert und kann dann in Formulierungen angewendet werden.
2. 270g Milchsäure (3 mol) und 2g p-Toluolsulfonsäure (4 mol-%) werden in 750 ml Toluol am Wasserabscheider unter Rückfluss erhitzt, bis sich 40 ml Was- ser (2,2 mol) abgeschieden haben. Der so erhaltene Polyester hat eine Säurezahl von 178. Das erhaltene Reaktionsgemisch wird anschließend mit 93g Geraniol (0,6 mol) weiter am Wasserabscheider unter Rückfluss erhitzt, bis sich kein Wasser mehr abscheidet. Das Rohprodukt wird neutralisiert und kann dann in Formulierungen angewendet werden.
3. 231g Citronensäure (1,2 mol) und 1g p-Toluolsulfonsäure (5 mol-%) werden in 600 ml Toluol am Wasserabscheider unter Rückfluss erhitzt, bis sich 18 ml
Wasser (1 mol) abgeschieden haben. Der so erhaltene Polyester hat eine Säurezahl von 687. Das erhaltene Reaktionsgemisch wird anschließend mit 250g Citronellol (1,6 mol) weiter am Wasserabscheider unter Rückfluss erhitzt, bis sich weitere 36g Wasser (2 mol) abgeschieden haben. Das Rohpro- dukt wird neutralisiert und kann dann in Formulierungen angewendet werden.
4. 156g Malonsäure (1,5 mol), 62g Ethylenglykol (1 mol) und 2g p-Toluolsulfonsäure werden in 500 ml Toluol am Wasserabscheider unter Rückfluss erhitzt, bis sich 36 ml Wasser (2 mol) abgeschieden haben. Der so erhaltene Poly- ester hat eine Säurezahl von 306. Das erhaltene Reaktionsgemisch wird anschließend mit 156g Citronellol (1 mol) weiter am Wasserabscheider unter Rückfluss erhitzt, bis sich kein Wasser mehr abscheidet. Das Rohprodukt wird neutralisiert und kann dann in Formulierungen angewendet werden.
Anwendungsbeispiel
Die in Synthesebeispiel 2 genannte anfangs geruchslose Substanz wird in eine Geschirrspülrezeptur eingearbeitet und in einer handelsüblichen Spülmaschine getestet. Nach dem Spülende wird ein angenehmer Geraniol-Duft festgestellt, der auch nach 60 Minuten noch wahrnehmbar ist.

Claims

Patentansprüche:
1. Duftalkohol-terminierter Polyester erhältlich durch Umsetzung eines Polyester-Grundgerüstes mit einer Säurezahl von 10 bis 750 (DIN 53402) und einem Duft- alkohol.
2. Duftalkohol-terminierter Polyester nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Polyester-Grundgerüst erhältlich ist durch a) Polykondensation von Hydroxycarbonsäuren, b) Veresterung von Di- oder Tricarbonsäuren mit Alkoholen mit 2, 3 oder 4 Hydroxylgruppen.
3. Duftalkohol-terminierter Polyester nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Hydroxycarbonsäuren 1, 2 oder 3 Hydroxylgruppen und 1 oder 2 Carbon- säuregruppen aufweisen.
4. Duftalkohol-terminierter Polyester nach Ansprüchen 2 oder3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Hydroxycarbonsäure 2 bis 36 Kohlenstoffatome aufweist.
5. Duftalkohol-terminierter Polyester gemäß Ansprüchen 3 oder 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Hydroxycarbonsäuren ausgewählt sind aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Citronensäure, Milchsäure, Äpfelsäure, Weinsäure, Gluconsäure, Rici- nolsäuren, 4-Hydroxypentansäure, 3-Hydroxybuttersäure oder Gemischen davon.
6. Duftalkohol-terminierter Polyester nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Di- oder Tricarbonsäuren 2 bis 36 Kohlenstoffatome enthalten.
7. Duftalkohol-terminierter Polyester nach Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Di- oder Tricarbonsäuren ausgewählt sind aus der Gruppe bestehend aus gesättigten oder ungesättigten aliphatischen Carbonsäuren, gesättigten oder ungesättigten alicyclischen Carbonsäuren und aromatischen Carbonsäuren.
8. Duftalkohol-terminierter Polyester nach Ansprüchen 6 oder 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Di- oder Tricarbonsäuren ausgewählt sind aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Oxalsäure, Malonsäure, Bernsteinsäure, Glutarsäure, Adipinsäure, Pimelinsäure, Azelainsäure, Sebacinsäure, Maleinsäure, Fumarsäure, Phthalsäure, Terephthalsäure, Isophthalsäure, Agaricinsäure, Citronensäure, 1 ,2,3- Propantricarbonsäure, Hemimellithsäure, Trimellithsäure, Trimesinsäure, oder Gemischen davon.
9. Duftalkohol-terminierter Polyester nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Alkohol mit 2, 3 oder 4 Hydroxylgruppen ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus gesättigten oder ungesättigten aliphatischen Alkoholen, gesättigten oder ungesättigten alicyclischen Alkoholen und aromatischen Alkoholen mit 2 bis 36 Kohlenstoffatomen oder Polyalkylenglykolen mit einer mittleren Molmasse von 106 bis 1000.
10. Duftalkohol-terminierter Polyester nach Anspruch 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Alkohol ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Ethylenglycol, Pro- pylenglycol, Butylenglycol, and Neopentylglycol, Pentandiol-1 ,5,3-Methylpentandiol- 1 ,5, Bisphenol A, 1 ,2- oder 1 ,4-Cyclohexandiol, Caprolactondiol (Reaktionsprodukt aus Caprolacton und Ethylenglycol), hydroxyalkylierte Bisphenole, Trimethylolpropan, Trimethylolethan, Pentaerythritol, Hexandiol-1 ,6, Heptandiol-1 ,7, Octandiol-1 ,8, Butandiol-1 ,4, 2-Methyloctandiol-1,8, Nonandiol-1 ,9, Decandiol-1 ,10, Cyclohe- xandimethylol, Di-, Tri- und Tetraethylenglykol, Di-, Tri- und Tetrapropylenglykol, Polyethylen- und Polypropylenglykole mit einem mittleren Molekulargewicht von 150 bis 15.000, Trimethylolethan, Trimethylolpropan und Pentaerythrit, Diethanolamin, Triethanolamin oder deren Gemischen.
11. Duftalkohol-terminierter Polyester nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Duftalkohol ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Amylalkohol, 2- Hexylalkohol, Hexylalkohol, Heptylalkohol, Octylalkohol, Nonylalkohol, Decylalkohol, Undecylalkohol, Laurylalkohol, Myristicalkohol, 3-Methyl-but-2-en-1-ol, 3-Methyl-1- pentanol, cis-3-hexenol, cis-4-Hexenol, 3,5,5-Trimethylhexanol, 3,4,5,6,6-Penta- methylheptan-2-ol, Citronellol, Geraniol, Oct-1-en-3-ol, 2,5,7-Trimethyl octan-3-ol, 2- cis-3,7-Dimethyl-2,6-octadien-1-ol. 6-Ethyl-3-methyl-5-octen-1-ol, 3,7-Dimethyl-oct- 3,6-dienol, 3,7-Dimethyloctanol, 7-Methoxy-3,7-dimethyl-octan-2-ol, cis-6-Nonenol, 5-Ethyl-2-nonanol, 6,8-Dimethyl-2-nonanol, 2,2,8-trimethyl-7(8)-nonene-3-ol, Nona- 2,6-dien-1-ol, 4-Methyl-3-decen-5-ol,5-Dec-9-en-1-ol, Benzylalkohol,

12. Verfahren zur Herstellung der Duftalkohol-terminierten Polyester gemäß irgendeinem der Ansprüche 1 bis 11 durch Umsetzung eines Polyester-Grundgerüsts mit einer Säurezahl von 10 bis 750 (bestimmt nach DIN 53402) und einem Duftalkohol.
13. Verwendung der Duftalkohol-terminierten Polyester gemäß irgendeinem der Ansprüche 1 bis 11 als Zusatz zu Zusammensetzungen, die ausgewählt sind aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Klebstoffen, Kunststoffen, Lacken, Kosmetika, Reinigungsmitteln, Weichspülern, Waschmitteln und Geschirrspülmitteln.
14. Verwendung nach Anspruch 13, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Zusatz 0,1 bis 10 Gew.-%, bezogen auf die Gesamtzusammensetzung, beträgt.
15. Zusammensetzung umfassend einen duftalkoholterminierten Polyester ge- maß Ansprüchen 1 bis 11.
16. Kosmetische Zusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 15, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass 0,1 bis 10 Gew.-% wenigstens eines der duftalkoholterminierten Polyester, bezogen auf die Gesamtzusammensetzung, enthalten ist.
17. Kosmetische Zusammensetzung nach Ansprüchen 15 oder 16, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sie ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Lotionen, Cremes, Shampoos, Seifen, Salben, Pudern, Aerosolen und Deodorantien.
18. Klebstoffzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 15, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass 0,1 bis 10 Gew.-% wenigstens eines der duftalkoholterminierten Polyester, bezogen auf die Gesamtzusammensetzung, enthalten ist.
19. Kunststoffzusammensetzung nach Anspruch 15, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass 0,1 bis 10 Gew.-% wenigstens eines der duftalkoholterminierten Polyester, bezogen auf die Zusammensetzung, enthalten ist.
20. Lackzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 15, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass 0,1 bis 10 Gew.-% wenigstens eines der duftalkoholterminierten Polyester, bezogen auf die Zusammensetzung, enthalten ist.
21. Reinigungsmittelzusammensetzung nach Anspruch 15, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass 0,1 bis 10 Gew.-% wenigstens eines der duftalkoholterminierten Polyester, bezogen auf die Zusammensetzung, enthalten ist.
22. Waschmittelzusammensetzung nach Anspruch 15, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass 0,1 bis 10 Gew.-% wenigstens eines der duftalkoholterminierten Polyester bezogen auf die Zusammensetzung, enthalten ist.
23. Weichspülerzusammensetzung nach Anspruch 15, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass 0,1 bis 10 Gew.-% wenigstens eines der duftalkoholterminierten Polyester bezogen auf die Zusammensetzung, enthalten ist.
24. Geschirrspülmittelzusammensetzung für Spülautomaten nach Anspruch 15, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass 0,1 bis 10 Gew.-% wenigstens eines der duftalko- holterminierten Polyester bezogen auf die Zusammensetzung, enthalten ist.
25. Handspülmittelzusammensetzung nach Anspruch 15, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass 0,1 bis 10 Gew.-% wenigstens eines der duftalkoholterminierten Polyester bezogen auf die Zusammensetzung, enthalten ist.
