Description

The invention relates to an electrical connection element, in particular a in an insulating housing arranged as a pin contact or socket contact trained connection element with a plug side and a Connection end for contacting with a stranded conductor, as well as a housing for receiving such a connection element.

Such connection elements are required to an electrical connection between an electrical conductor with a variety of strands and a terminal end of an electrical contact pin or a contact socket but no special tool required is.

To connect electrical conductors to a contact element are a number from connection principles known in the art, such as by means of soldering Screw connections, by cage clamp connection or by crimp connections.

The CH 551 700 is a terminal block with Kontakteilen for electrical Head known, each contact part penetrates into the electrical conductor Having contact tip, and a surrounding the electrical conductor Rocker arm pair for blocking the electrical conductor.

Furthermore, from US-A-4387944 a two-piece, electrical connector known, which has an annular, finger-like sleeve for stabilizing the Having contacts within the connector housing.

The disadvantage is that different connection principles, such as the soldering in the industrial connection technology steadily due to the effort is pushed back that screw connections as well as cage tension spring connections have a relatively large space requirement, and Crimp connections each require special tools.

The invention is therefore based on the object, a connection element of initially mentioned type in such a way that a connection technology between an electrical conductor and a connection element is realized, the at least comparable contacting data, such as contact resistance and gas-tight connection points, such as a crimped connection, but without the special one Need tool of the crimping tool.

This object is achieved in that the terminal end of a sawtooth similar having shaped contour, wherein perpendicular to the insertion direction pointing flanks are provided that on the terminal end of a resilient Sleeve is pushed, that the sleeve by means of a wedge element is widened, and that in the space between the terminal end and the sleeve inserted to a stop strands of the stranded conductor, after removal of the wedge element, with a radially acting force be pressed by the resilient sleeve in the sawtooth-like contour.

Advantageous embodiments of the invention are in the claims 2-4 specified.

Another solution of the problem is that the connection end has a sawtooth-like contour, with perpendicular to the direction of insertion pointing flanks are provided on the connecting end a resilient sleeve is pushed, that the sleeve with two by 90 ° against each other axially extending slots, with segments are formed, which come up to a rear end, and wherein hook-shaped to the parts of the segments pointing into the interior of the sleeve Formations are formed by means of which the sleeve on the Terminal end is held.

An advantageous embodiment of this solution is specified in claim 12.

Another object of the invention is a housing for receiving an electrical connection element in such a way that this simple can be produced and the connection elements are securely held therein.

This problem is solved in that the housing is formed in two parts is and from a plug housing part and a connection side Housing part is made, wherein within the housing part recesses for Recording the pin or socket contact are provided.

Further advantageous embodiments of this solution are in the claims 6 - 10 indicated.

The advantages achieved by the invention are in particular that a formed as a pin or socket contact connection element with a toothed connection end is provided, which of a resilient Sleeve is included. An inserted between the terminal end and the sleeve electrical conductor with a variety of strands is formed by the acting Spring force of the sleeve permanently on the tips of the sawtooth-like Contour of the terminal end pressed so that a vibration-proof, resulting in a nearly identical strength and contact reliability Connection between a contact element and the electrical conductor is achieved, as with a crimp, but with a special Crimping pliers tool is required for mounting.

Furthermore, it is advantageous that the connection cross-section of the electrical conductors for the connection element according to the invention comprises a larger variation range than is possible with a crimp connection.
Due to the small size of an increased number of contacts in the same space in a plug housing accommodate than this is possible, for example, when using cage tension springs.
The process of contacting is advantageously designed so that the provided with a longitudinal slot sleeve by means of an insertable wedge member has an enlarged diameter, so that between the terminal end and the sleeve, an electrical conductor with a plurality of strands is inserted.
If the wedge element is removed, then the resilient sleeve presses the strands onto the concentrically arranged teeth or into the interspaces of the sawtooth-like connection region, so that a mechanical undercut is formed by the tooth tips, thereby removing or withdrawing the electrical conductor from the sleeve hardly possible. It is also advantageous, the optical signaling of already attached
or not yet fixed electrical conductors in a multi-port plug housing: if all the wedge elements protrude from the housing and the corresponding electrical conductors are firmly connected to the contact pins or contact sockets. It can be advantageously provided to sell the wedge elements in color with respect to the housing.
In a further variant, a connection element is provided, which is designed such that the contact pins or contact sockets with the sleeve can be used directly in an already known connector housing.
Furthermore, a variant with a rolled sleeve is provided, in which the lateral surfaces are arranged overlapping, wherein in a wedge opening at one end of the sleeve, the blade of a screwdriver is used with which the diameter of the sleeve is increased.
In this case, however, the edge of the inner lateral surface slides along the overlapping lateral surface by the resilient action of the rolled sleeve, so that the strands located inside the sleeve do not reach the outside.

With this type of connection is a similar, advantageously releasable again To achieve connection, similar to a crimping, however is not solvable.

A mating connector with corresponding female contacts is provided equivalent, but not shown here.
The one part housing is the plug-side housing part 2, with recesses 5, 6 for inserting the pin contact 10 with the sleeve 20, while in the second part, the connection-side housing part 3, a recess 31 for the funnel-shaped side of the sleeve and funnel-shaped lamellae 32nd and an opening 33 for an electrical conductor are provided.
The two housing parts are connectable to each other and arranged one behind the other, that the respective openings are aligned.
In the plug-side housing part 2 of the pin contact 10 is guided in an opening 5, which has an elongated guide by an annular molding 8.
The pin contact 10 is pushed up to its stop 16, a plate-shaped Anformung between the plug side 12 and the terminal end 13, together with the pushed onto the terminal end sleeve 20 in the recess 5, 6, wherein the plug side 12 of the pin contact on the mating side of the housing part 2 stands out again.
The circular recess 6 on the inner side of the housing is extended by a rectangular opening 7, into which the side strips 22 of the sleeve 20 protrude when the plug is mounted. In addition, one of the two openings 6, 7 adapted, raised annular contour 9 is provided, which ensures an increase in the creepage distances and creepage distances and for a rotationally secure mounting of the two housing parts 2, 3.
Furthermore, a wedge member 40 is provided, which is already connected in a variant during manufacture in the interior of the housing part by means of a thin material connection - a web 41 - with the housing part 3, which as explained later, serves as a predetermined breaking point. In another variant, a separate wedge element is provided, which is inserted only during assembly in the housing part 3.

In the second part of the insulating housing, particularly the one shown in FIG. 2, the connection-side housing part 3, a continuous opening is provided which has different individual openings with different functions.
For the supply of the electrical conductor, the opening 33 is provided, followed by a funnel-shaped opening formed by fins 32, which projects into an enlarged recess 31, which in turn is provided for receiving the sleeve 20 and the annular contour 9 of the housing part 2.

In Fig. 3, the wedge member 40 is shown in a greatly enlarged view. The wedge element has essentially two mutually rotated by 90 ° strip elements, which consist of a wedge 42 with a wedge tip 43, and the staggered guide member 44th
To the guide member is shown in the edge region of the wedge a narrow, circumferential web 41, which in an integral variant, the housing part 3 and wedge element are produced in an injection process, the wedge element within the housing part 3 holds.
On the narrow sides of the guide member each have a locking nose 46 is provided by means of which the wedge member is held captive within the guide 35 of the housing part 3. The sleeve 20 facing narrow side of the wedge 42 has a slope 47.
To the guide member 44, an angled end piece 45 is formed, with which the wedge member can be pulled out or pushed in from the housing part 3, wherein a groove 48 is provided for use of a screwdriver on the outwardly facing side of the tail.

The operation of the wedge element 40 is the following: In ready to install State of the connecting element is the wedge element in one of the variants with a designed as a web 41 breaking point within held the connection-side housing part 3. The tailpiece closes 45 of the wedge element in a plane with the outer wall of the housing part 3 off. The pin contact 10 is with the plugged sleeve 20 within of the assembled housing 1 is inserted. It arrives the wedge 42 between the wedge opening 24 of the sleeve 20 and expands it.

Furthermore, the sleeve-facing side of the wedge 42 is adapted to the inner diameter of the sleeve 20, so that when inserting the strands none of the individual wires can insert between the open side strips 22 on the sleeve.
With the expansion of the inner diameter of the sleeve, the strands of an electrical conductor can be easily inserted into the annular cavity between the Sägezahnkontur 14 of the terminal end 13 of the pin contact and the sleeve 20.
After inserting the strands, the wedge element 40 is removed from the housing part 3 by pulling it out at the angled end piece 45.
This is a simple tool, eg. B. the blade of a screwdriver used in the intended slope 36 in the housing part 3 and levered out the wedge element, wherein the web 41 breaks as a predetermined breaking point. As a result, the wedge 42 is removed from the region of the resilient sleeve 20 so that it contracts to its original diameter. In this case, the strands are pressed onto the sawtooth contour 14 or in the intermediate depressions, so that a removal or removal of the electrical conductor from the sleeve is hardly possible by the undercut on the vertical sloping edges 15 of the saw teeth.
In another variant, a separately manufactured, as colorful as possible deviates from the housing part 3 wedge element 40 is merely inserted into the guide 35 and held captive by means of the locking lugs 46.

FIG. 4 once again shows the mode of operation in a perspective view of the connecting element, consisting of the elements of the pin contact 10, the sleeve 20 and the wedge member 40, wherein also the purely "digital behavior" of the system becomes clear, which is that the wedge 42 with its wedge tip 43 either between the side strips 22 of the longitudinal slot 21 is inserted and the sleeve expands or the resilient sleeve takes back their original state as soon as the wedge tip enters the wedge opening 24 of the sleeve.

In FIGS. 5a and 5b, a single connection element is shown in a sectional representation through the assembled housing 1, consisting of the housing parts 2, 3.
It can be seen how the pin contact 10 is guided with the slipped sleeve 20 in the two housing parts 2, 3, wherein the fins 32 abut with a narrower diameter to the funnel opening 32 of the sleeve. This has the advantage that the strands of an electrical conductor are first focused by means of the fins, then hit the conical terminal end 13 of the pin contact and then be divided around the cone tip in the space between the sleeve and terminal end.
It is shown in Fig. 5a, as the wedge 42 is inserted between the side strips 22 of the sleeve and thus increases the tube diameter. When pulling out the wedge, as shown in Fig. 5b, by means of a lever-like movement of a simple tool that is inserted into the oblique recess 36 of the housing part 3 and thereby engages behind the end piece 45 of the wedge member 40, the wedge member to the stop of the locking lugs 46 levered out to the inner wall of the housing part 3. In this case, the resilient sleeve 20 again reaches its original narrow diameter and encloses the sawtooth contour 14 of the connecting end 13 almost without spacing.

In Fig. 6, a sleeve 50 is shown for a varied connection element that works on the same principle, but is tuned with its external design to an existing connector system, so that this connection element easily and substitute for an already common socket or pin contact can be used.
The sleeve 50 with a front end 51 and a larger diameter rear end 52, has two perpendicular to each other axially extending slots 53, which extend to the rear end 52, so that four resilient segments 54 formed by the rear end 52nd held together. In this case, the middle section between the front and rear ends is made smaller in diameter than the front end 51. The protruding into the sleeve inner part of the front end 51 is provided with a hook-shaped Anformung 55.

In Fig. 7, the sleeve 50 is shown with a varied terminal end 13 'of the pin contact 10 as a section, wherein the sleeve is shown in the open mounting state.
The sleeve is thereby opened by a mechanical deflection, which is provided on the connection end 13 'and is formed by an axially, parallel portion 17 which extends with a rounding to the constriction 19. The diameter of the constriction corresponds to the inner diameter of the hook-shaped Anformung 55 of the front end 51 of the sleeve, while the portion 17 has a larger diameter. The sleeve 50 is held under the tension of the four resilient segments 54 on the portion 17 and is displaceable up to the locking ring 18.
In the resulting space between the sleeve 50 and the sawtooth contour 14, an electrical conductor with a plurality of strands can be inserted to the stop 16.
After inserting the strands, the sleeve is axially in the same direction - as the strands - pushed until the hook-shaped Anformung 55 slides into the constriction 19, wherein the sleeve cross-section narrows again and the strands between the Sägezahnkontur 14 and the inner wall of the sleeve 50 are pressed.

FIG. 8 shows a further variant in which a sleeve 20 ', which is rolled out of resilient sheet material and longitudinally slotted, is not provided with a side strip 22 extending over the entire length of the sleeve, as in FIG. 4, which has been bent outward from the sleeve jacket. but in which only a simply bent wedge opening 24 'is provided, which has a short axially aligned side strip 22'.
Subsequently, the sleeve has an overlap at the wedge opening, in which the outer circumferential surface 26 of the sleeve protrudes tangentially beyond the edge of the inner circumferential surface 25, wherein the edge rests tightly against the outer circumferential surface.

If a wedge element, for. B. the blade 40 'of a screwdriver in the Wedge opening 24 'pushed to the side stiffeners 22', so increases the diameter of the sleeve, wherein the edge of the inner circumferential surface 25 slides on the outer lateral surface 26 along, so that the Longitudinal slot between the two lateral surfaces always for in the sleeve inserted stranded wire is locked.
