Abstract

Description

  • The present invention relates to a sensor holder or electrode holder in the field of measurement technology, in particular a sensor holder for the detachable attachment of sensors with connecting cable in a receptacle of a device or support member with a tubular body having a through hole for passing the connection cable and which with attachment means for the Attachment on the one hand of the holder and on the other hand provided by sensors or plug components.
  • Such holders or holding devices serve for releasable attachment of sensors or electrodes with connecting cable in various devices or carrier components in which the sensors are to be mounted. If necessary, the sensors can be replaced for the purpose of maintenance or to change the measurement task. For mounting the sensors, the sensor holders are usually designed as releasable elements that can be mounted, for example via a screw or a thread on the outer circumference in the support member or in a device.
  • A previously known such sensor holder essentially consists of a tubular base element, through which the connecting cable of the sensor can be passed. After passing the connection cable or the plurality of connection cables they must be electrically connected on site with a plug element and / or with the sensor itself. Therefore, the assembly of such sensors with their holder in devices or support components has been relatively expensive. One reason for this is that the connectors and the sensors or electrode components could not be easily passed through the previously known sensor holder diameter.
  • On the other hand, it is an object of the present invention to provide a sensor holder for releasably attaching sensors or electrodes to a connection cable, which facilitates assembly and in which removal and installation of the sensor in place can be easily performed.
  • This object is achieved with a sensor holder according to the invention in that the main body has a continuous lateral longitudinal slot, which is provided in its central part with a transverse to the longitudinal direction of the body short transverse section in the manner of a bayonet lock. Advantageous embodiments and modifications of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
  • The sensor holder according to the invention is provided with a receptacle for the passage of connecting cables or measuring cables in a kind of tubular body, wherein the base body is provided with fastening means for attachment on the one hand the holder itself and on the other hand for the attachment of sensors or connector components. The sensor holder according to the invention is characterized in that the tubular base body has a continuous lateral longitudinal slot which extends in its middle part with a transverse to the longitudinal direction of the base body short cross section is provided in the manner of a bayonet closure. The base body is therefore not realized with a simple straight longitudinal slot, but has a longitudinal slot along the longitudinal direction of the main body, which has, for example, approximately in the middle a short transverse section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the main body or of the holder. Thus, a kind of S-shaped slot is realized in the tubular base body, which is preferably dimensioned such that a connection cable or measuring cable can be easily passed. In this way, the main body of the sensor holder retains substantially its stability and strength, unlike in the case of a straight slotted sleeve without such a transverse section. On the other hand, a connection cable can still be easily inserted into the longitudinal slot by being inserted and inserted along the course of the longitudinal slot with its short cross section. Thereafter, the sensor holder can be mounted at its destination.
  • In this way, not only the installation of such sensors or measuring devices is facilitated because a connector or the sensor itself does not have to be connected to the electrical connection cables extra in place. The sensors can be inserted laterally with their connectors, and then the holder can be mounted in a corresponding receptacle of a device or a support plate, for example by screws. Also, the maintenance and replacement of sensors are greatly simplified with the sensor holder according to the invention. It should be noted that such measuring devices often have to be mounted in place in difficult environmental conditions. Such sensor holders are used not only in the field of measuring laboratories, but also for field measurements on the spot and thus in various weather conditions such as rain, snow, etc. Here, the sensor holder according to the invention has the advantage that the electrical connections of the connection cables or measuring cables need not be removed or not need to be connected on the spot. The sensors or electrodes can be used together with the already mounted connection cable easily in the lateral longitudinal slot, which is formed with a short cross section in the manner of a bayonet closure. Subsequently, the sensor holder can be fixedly mounted, for example via screw connections or plug-in connections in a holder or in the device. Another advantage of the invention is that the connection cables of the sensors are better protected against damage during assembly. The connection cables are simply inserted into the lateral longitudinal slot with its short cross section and then lie completely inside the receptacle or through opening of the sensor holder.
  • According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, different or differently dimensioned fastening means are respectively provided at the two ends of the main body of the sensor holder. The fastening means are, for example, external thread for a screw connection, in which case different diameters may be present in each case at the two ends. Thus, the sensor holder can be screwed into different sized receptacles with corresponding inner diameter and internal thread. Also, in the context of the present invention, various attachment means may be present at each of the two ends. For example, an external thread for a screw connection and at the opposite other end a plug-clip device may be present at one end. Of course, other types of fasteners, as known to those skilled in the art, can be used in the sensor holder according to the invention. These features of the invention significantly increase the possibilities of use and the flexibility in the use of such sensor holders.
  • According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention in each case different or different fastening means for sensors and plug-in elements and the like are provided in the interior of the passage opening at the two ends of the main body of the sensor holder. In this way, in the sensor holder and a mounting in the passage opening of different sensors or electrodes can be carried out. The various sensors, which may be mounted with the sensor holder, for example, may be sensors for measuring pH values, sensors for measuring the oxygen content, sensors for measuring the conductivity of fluids or the like. The fastening means inside the sensor holder for the attachment of plugs or the sensors themselves may differ in size and dimension and alternatively or additionally be completely different fastening means, such as screw or clip mechanism.
  • According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the longitudinal slot is formed with a rectilinear longitudinal section and a rectilinear transverse section extending substantially perpendicular thereto. That is, both areas of the longitudinal slot along the main body are formed substantially straight, so that a kind of angular S-shape is formed. According to an alternative advantageous embodiment of the invention in this regard, the lateral longitudinal slot is curved with its short transverse section, so that a kind of curved S-shape is present. The latter has the advantage that no damage to the connection cable at the edges between the transverse section and the longitudinal slot sections is possible because the connection cable can be easily inserted into the curved shape.
  • According to a further advantageous embodiment of the sensor holder according to the invention is on the holder as a fastening means on one side of a screw thread and on the other, opposite side another type of connection, such as a snap mechanism provided. Other possibilities for fasteners, which are different from screw threads, are a simple plug connection or a clamping connection, as they are used in other areas of tubular elements.
  • According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the sensor holder both different inner and different outer attachment means for the attachment of the sensor holder itself and the attachment of internal components (sensors, connectors, etc.). By simply turning the mounting direction of the sensor holder, various connection options can be provided.
  • According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the main body of the sensor holder is provided with lateral openings for measurement in fluids. A detection of measured values can thus also take place in the region of the sensor holder itself.

  • According to the invention, the basic body 3 of the sensor holder 10 with a continuous longitudinal slot 8th provided along the longitudinal direction L, which starts on one side and approximately in the middle of the main body 3 with a short cross section 7 is provided substantially at right angles to the longitudinal direction L, and then at the other side of the passage opening 4 open ended. It is thus a kind of slot in the form of a bayonet closure in the body 3 formed, in which a connection cable 2 can be inserted laterally, without having to remove the connection elements on the connection cable (sensor, electrodes, mounting sockets, etc.). This facilitates the assembly of such sensors and measuring devices in place, especially in measurements in the field. But even in laboratory applications, the sensor holder according to the invention has the advantage that a quick and easy change without disassembly or assembly of electrical connections is possible.
  • In the 2 is an analogous perspective view of a second embodiment of a sensor holder according to the invention in the situation before installation of the sensor 1 with the connection cable 2 shown. In this embodiment, in contrast to the first embodiment on the outer side of the body in each case different fastening means 5 intended.   • Particular advantages arise in such an embodiment of the sensor holder 10 in which different fastening means are used both on the outside and on the inside 5 . 6 available. The flexibility and variability in the use and assembly of such sensors are thus significantly increased.
