- Example 3 The addition of lauroyl chloride (2.47 g) to the NAG flask (2.5 g) and pyridine (0.88 g) in DMF (30 ml) was carried out as for Example 3. The solution obtained was left for fifteen hours at room temperature, still with stirring and under argon. The solution, which had become clear, was then hydrolyzed with 5 ml of water and the solvent was evaporated. 30 mL of water was added to the yellow-orange gum. After a waiting time of approximately 1 h, gelling was observed: the particles are such that two different procedures for washing with water can be chosen.
