Abstract

The invention concerns an anti-theft device for a ring, characterised in that it comprises a convex ellipsoid rigid shell associated with means retaining (3) the ring (4) substantially tangential to the convex surface of the shell and with an anti-theft warning device (16).

Description

The present invention relates to a lock for rings or the like.

It has been proposed anti-theft rings, especially in the document FR 2 758 702 in the name of the applicant. However these baguiers, if they allow the customer to try the jewel still in the baguier, must nevertheless be opened by the jeweler for the customer to take the ring or the ring that interests him.

But the current trend of trade is self-service and it would be to propose a ring lock system that does not require the systematic intervention of the jeweler, neither for the examination nor for the sale of the jewel, and that is simple and inexpensive to install.

It has been proposed, in particular in document FR 2 752 562, Versatile and relatively complicated anti-theft systems. The goal of the invention is to propose a lock of simple design, which can be obtained at a competitive price.

The object of the invention is achieved by an individual ring lock, in accordance with the appended claim 1. Thanks to this special form, advantageously elongated ellipsoid sector, the ring can be tested while still being partially trapped in the rigid hull by the retaining means, preferably a metal blade or the like. The rigid shell is advantageously formed by the assembly of two half-shells moldings with a convex surface enclosing the retaining means of the Ring.

The set can be obtained at a very low price and is therefore disposable.

A hooking means of the antitheft-display according to the invention allows to have a set of locks and rings on a panel of accessible presentation in self-service to customers.

The two half-shells are made of a rigid plastic or semi-rigid and include non-removable assembly means (otherwise by at least partial destruction); it can be for example of heat sealing at their edges, or any other means. The anti-theft alarm means can be achieved by any known means (label electronic, wire, electromagnetic detection, infrared, radio, etc.), and be placed between the two half-shells before their assembly or be added after assembly, for example by means of a third hull or film.

The half-shells can be in the form of plates substantially planes, possibly containing jewel storage cells.

In the particular case of the rings, it is advantageous that the shell rigid (or at least one half-shell) has a curved surface and that the retaining means is arranged to retain the ring so as to substantially tangent to said curved surface.

Advantageously, the retaining means is constituted by a simple blade, metallic or not, partially retained by the quasi-adjacent faces of two shells assembled. Advantageously, the blade comprises, for example at its ends, a means of anchoring to the hulls; in case the hulls are centered and assembled one on the other thanks to reliefs complementary (projections and cavities in the form of pins), the anchoring means may be a loop or a ring passing around said reliefs provided on the hulls.

The antitheft of Figures 1 to 5 consists of a lower half-shell 1 and an upper half-shell 2, and a thin and flat retaining blade 3 for a ring 4. The two half-shells are molded in semi-rigid plastic and have substantially similar convex surfaces 7, 8 (shaped like elongated sector of ellipsoid) and complementary so as to be able to contiguous and assembled to each other by means of guiding or releasable fixation such as the inner projections 5 (realized possibly by depressions on the outer side) sinking into the outer cavities 6, where they can be retained by gluing, welding (including ultrasound), force-fitting, or any other means. The surface 7 of the half-shell 1 has between the cavities 6 a depression central elongated 9 which crosses in the middle another depression 10. The surface 8 of the half-shell 2 has in its middle a transverse window 11, possibly associated on an edge with a tongue for protecting the ring from contact with the metal blade 3. The curved surfaces 7 and 8 are surrounded by a flat border 12 and 13, having on one side an enlargement 14 in which a hole 15 is provided for hooking the lock and its ring to a hook display multiple. A detectable alarm wire 16 is placed either at the manufacture in one or the other of the half-shells 1, 2 is at the assembly between the half-shells 1, 2.

The instructions for use of the anti-theft display are as follows. We introduce the ring 4 partially in the window 11 of the upper half-shell 2, we pass the blade 3 under the said half-shell 2 through the ring and we this assembly is placed on top of the lower half-shell 1. The blade 3 is partially lodged in the longitudinal depression 9 and part of the ring in the transverse depression 10; eventually, the ends (which can be preformed for this purpose) of the ring are housed in the cavities 6; the protrusions 5 sink into the cavities 6 and guide the assembly or even block all, if necessary using a method accessory fastening such as heat sealing at the edges of the edges 12, 13. According to an advantageous variant not shown, the blade 3 can have at its ends a looped form or a ring intended for pass around the lower projections 5 to prevent movement subsequent blade and a fraudulent attempt to remove the blade by folding.

The antitheft-display is ready to be suspended and exposed on a display rack with hooks.

The customer can take such a lock-display and try the ring thanks to the convex conformation of the surface 8.

Any attempt to fraudulently exit the store triggers a alarm thanks to the wire 16.

Claims (8)

1. Individual anti-theft device for a ring, comprising a rigid shell formed by joining two half-shells (1, 2) together, thereby partially trapping a retaining means (3) of the ring in the form of a strong rigid elongate member (3) retaining the ring (4) through an opening (11) provided in one (2) of the half-shells, characterised in that at least the half-shell (2) comprising the opening (11) has a convex surface (7, 8) and the retaining means (3) of the ring is disposed so as to retain the ring (4) substantially tangential with respect to said convex surface (7,8) of the shell, the shell also comprising an anti-theft warning means (16).
2. Anti-theft device as claimed in Claim 1, characterised in that the half-shells (1, 2) are formed from rigid or semi-rigid synthetic material.
3. Anti-theft device as claimed in Claim 2, characterised in that the half-shells (1, 2) are joined together by thennowelding their edge (13).
4. Anti-theft device as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the convex surface (7, 8) is in the form of an elongate ellipsoid sector.
5. Anti-theft device as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the retaining means is a strap (3).
6. Anti-theft device as claimed in Claim 5, characterised in that the strap has means for anchoring to profiled portions (5, 6) formed on the shells.
7. Anti-theft device as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the two half shells (1, 2) are convex.
8. Anti-theft device as claimed in Claim 7, characterised in that the two half-shells (1, 2) are coupled together so as to have adjacent surfaces between which a ring-retaining strap (3) is retained.
