The invention relates to a fuel injector according to the preamble of
Claim 1, as known for example from the
According to this solution, the drain and the control valve are on both sides of an electromagnetic Actuator arranged one behind the other, with the strokes of drain valve and Control valve to be impressed by the electromagnetic actuator simultaneously and one another independent control of the two series-connected valves not is possible.
With the solution according to the invention according to claim 1 can be opened at an injector inwardly Valves (I-valves) connect in series such that an injection course forming by a cross-sectional throttling can be realized in an intermediate switching state. With The solution according to the invention can be set very small strokes with which again very small injection quantities at certain stages of the injection in adaptation can be achieved at the running in the combustion chamber combustion process.
By connecting two I-valves in series, the two valve needles with an actuator - be it an electromagnet or a piezoelectric actuator - are actuated. Between the two valve needles of the series-connected I-valves a spring pack is added, which may, for example, comprise two coil springs in parallel. The Spring pack is preferred between the two valve pins of the series-connected I valves are taken while the valve needle of the actuator remote I-valve is supported by a spring element. The stroke of this valve needle is smaller dimensioned than the one of this upstream valve needle. Both valve pins thus close upon actuation of the actuator due to the different reaching their respective closed position on the valve needle seats at different strokes.
Accordingly, this acts between the valve needles of the first and second I-valves arranged spring assembly as a first approximate stiff spring, so that the spring preload of the first I-valve associated spring element in a first adjusting movement of the actuator can be overcome. With a further increase of the actuating force by the actuator can be over the provided on the second I-valve Hubwegreserve in the range of Valve needle seat a very small stroke - depending on the activation of the actuator - realize the allows injection course shaping by cross-sectional throttling at the second I-valve, which the combustion progress in the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine through Metering very small injection quantities account. While throttling through Cross-sectional constriction at the first I-valve remains in the flow direction of the fuel seen behind this arranged second I-valve in its closed position and has no influence on the metering of the fuel volume after closing its valve needle. The metering of the fuel takes place only by the Hubwegreserve and their utilization at the second I-valve by appropriate control of the actuator.

At the
Between the first valve needle 9 assigning
Upon actuation of the actuator 4 by energization of the
During the retraction movement of the
The seat cross-section, which is the connection of the
Figure 1.1 shows an embodiment of an arrangement of a double-I valve within a housing.
38 an seiner unteren Stirnseite 18 abgestützt. In the upper region of a

hintereinandergeschaltet, deren Ventilnadeln 9 bzw.

wirkt diese Kraft, vereinfacht gesagt, lediglich auf das erste Federelement 19;
Linienzug 37.Both valve needles 9 and 25 are equipped with
Upon reaching the
